The Salt Creek Steakhouse
Loud family restaurant with expensive steaks. Poor service and undercooked steaks. Server short tempered but manager accommodating. Not coming back. Life and vacation too short.
Amazing food and drinks. Loved the steak, cheese plate and duck.
Everyone raved about their meal and the apple dessert and brownie dessert were so so good! Our waitress was the sweetest thing. She was a big part of our good experience.
Seemed short on servers ( overheard someone called in). Our server took time to get us, apologized and made up with good attention from then. My friend order steak "blue". First one medium.second one was blue but cold in the middle. Beer was good.
The foundation of the menu is incredibly solid but I highly recommend trying some of their specials. They have a nice variety of dishes that that really make this place a Breckenridge gem. I most recently got the steak medallions and they were perfectly medium rare and seasoned to perfection. There's also a ton of coat hooks throughout the place so great for popping in right after the slopes.
Amazing food and staff!
Food and service were impeccable. Highly recommend the Cowboy steak; though pricey, it will not disappoint. Wine list is extensive and offers multiple pairing options with each menu item.
Great food, great service
Wonderful service and friendly environment. We eat here every year we come and love it.
Great food and excellent service! Fabulous time!
It was decent food. Nothing exceptional. Very expensive
Very good, but overpriced.
We were vacationing in Breckenridge on a family ski trip.
Although the appetizer of Calamari was a smaller than expected, the main issues are as follows:
All prices were much higher than expected especially for the quality (or lack thereof).
My Bison ribeye was over cooked. I ordered Med Rare, and it came out Med Well. It was a nice cut of meat though.
They cooked me a new Bison Ribeye, and although this one was cooked to Med Rare, it was a shabby torn up cut of meat....extremely fatty...way more than expected for a ribeye...and definitely a poor cut of meat for the price.
Waiter was excellent, pleasant, attentive and even comp’d us a dessert.
We (my 2 daughters and wife) were extremely disappointed.
This is our 2nd time in Breck, and quite frankly we like Breck better than Steamboat, etc. and thus plan to return to Breck.
However, we do not plan at this time to return to Salt Creek.
Bacon bits and very low level quality of ingredients and proteins. Awful.
Service was top notch. The food was really good - pricey though . Filet $44 - but very good !!
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Food and service was fantastic. Very pricey though.
The BEST BBQ I have ever had. The sauce is amazing! Service was great also!
Looked for a restaurant as we came into Breckenridge New Years evening.
It was a family celebration and last hurrah ski trip.
Shawn was an awesome waiter and was engaging and focused on our needs for dinner.
The food was great. This is a legit steakhouse....and the bbq is excellent as well.
When we come back to Breck, we will definitely come back to Salt Creek Steakhouse.
We had excellent service. The food was also delightful. We had dinner at other upscale steakhouses in Breckenridge and this was by far the best as far as food. The steak and appetizers were delicious. Our server, Tom, was exceptional. Visit this restaurant when dining out In Breckenridge!
We were here on New Year's Eve, so take into account that it's likely very different. The food was good but on the prix fixe menu they had the appetizer and salad/soup portions were quite small. The menu was extensive for being prix fixe. Our biggest gripe was that we were so rushed. In and out with four courses in just over an hour, we weren't ever asked if we wanted another round of drinks . We had friends in from out of town who we hadn't seen in quite awhile and were disappointed we didn't have more time to chat with them. We come here often when in Breckenridge so it was surprising that this was the experience.
My husband and I had dinner here on New Years Eve. Under normal circumstances this restaurant could be great, but the New Years Eve meal was so very disappointing. It was not worth the money at all. We love high end dinning, it is almost a hobby of ours, this was lacking at every turn. From the 1 bite appetizer, to the cheap wine glasses, I was overall disappointed. We actually went to another restaurant after and had drinks and appetizers.
This was a limited menu due to the holiday, so maybe it is worth it on a regular night. I would not every return to find out.
The set menu for New Years Eve, which was the only option, was very overpriced!
It was obvious that our server would have rather been doing something else. It is rare that I tip less than than 20%. Our night at Salt Creek was 15% and I considered less.
The price per person for New year's meal was $90 for a fixed menu. The steak was just ok not a value for what we paid.
There was no indication that the menu had changed for New Years Eve and was overcharged for what we ordered. We looked at the menu online and were not offered many choices! It should let you know ahead of time.
We got to Salt Creek Steakhouse and it was closed!!!
We had a large group and found our waiter to be nice and friendly but not very attentive. He disappeared for long periods of time and was not tending to other tables. The steak was average but the BBQ was quite good. All in all, I would go back but hope to have better service.
I understand that medium-well is a lousy choice but mutilating my fiance’s $44 Steak was quite rude (and a well-known kitchen insiders move), baked potato was under-done, and it’s tacky for our server to remind us that gratuity was not added in for our 6-top.
Make a reservation ahead of time. Our group had the filet and barbecue, which were both outstanding!
It was very busy but our waitress was attentive and service was prompt.
Would definitely eat here again.
Great food and service. The Guiness was very good also. Looking forward to going back next time I'm in Breck.
Fantastic evening; - superb steak, and great service - will see you again very soon!
Know things get crazy on Christmas, especially in a resort town, but the steak was cold and potatoes uninspired. The steak was very good the next day for lunch. Must say that the service was excellent.
Great service and food! I would happily recommend to a friend.
Salt Creek is a nice steakhouse. But perhaps because it was Christmas, they were out of several menu items—both food and wine
We arrived ahead of our reservation on Christmas day and were seated right away by the window. The staff was top notch. Everyone pitched in to assist each other. The aged prime rib was the best I've had since the last time I at Salt Creek, which was several years ago. We will be back .
Enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Day lunch here. Very friendly staff. Delicious food. I chose this restaurant for the Traditional Holiday Dinner and was not disappointed. My husband had a NY Strip and the kids had soup and chicken fingers. Everyone enjoyed everything. We even saved room for the “Knock You Naked” Brownie and Fire Roasted Fuji Apple Cobbler. I highly recommend The Salt Creek Steakhouse!
Food took 90min, no water. Hard to get drinks. Steaks cooked well when ordered med rare. THey served the bread as they brought dinner, some tables arrived after us, got bread, salads, ate and left before our food arrived. They took 25% off and still an absolute waste of money. Don’t go!!
Nice wait staff. Food was average - not what we have come to expect for higher-end dining in Breck. While Steakhouse is in the name, the smell of bbq permeates the dining room. The entree prices were high, noteably for the the bone-in ribeye. They charge $52 for no more than 8 oz of “Choice Plus” beef. We won’t go back.
Two prime ribs, both almost lukewarm. ...ate my whole baked potatoe before I got it back. Overpriced. Pretty noisy.
We came to Colorado expecting the most amazing steak with a party of 7 we tried most of the steaks on the menu. For the price here it is definitely not worth it. The steaks were flavorless, vegetables not cooked. The building was nice and had a good atmosphere, but would not recommend the food here if you are looking for a good steak dinner.
