Terrific modern steak house in an upscale environment. Expect classy service and high prices, but if you are looking for an elegant meal for a special occasion, this is a good place to go.
The food and service were fantastic! I was in a party of three and we tried several entrees, sides, and desserts. Everything was delicious. We will definitely be returning.
Royce in an excellent steakhouse. The choices are plentiful and each cut f meat was cooked to perfection. The shrimp cocktail was delicious as well as our vegetables of brussels sprouts and asparagus and potatoes. We brought our own bottle of wine. I think $35 for a corkage fee is a bit high, but cheaper than buying four glasses of wine. The restaurant is beautiful with big, white barrel chairs. The noise level was fun yet quiet enough to hear each other. We were celebrating a birthday and received a delicious, free desert. I look forward to going again.
We had a wedding anniversary there. We had a wonderful time with delicious great food and wine❤️❤️
They served special desert for us. It was really tasty 😊😊😊
My family enjoyed dining at Royce
food and service always excellent. ..great steak and top notch wine list.
We went to The Royce to treat our friends to a special occasion, and our evening there was special indeed and quite delightful. The location and view from the windows is iconic. The cocktails were marvelous. Our table of 4 split the tomahawk ribeye that was perfectly prepared and more than enough for the 4 of us. The service of both Tim and Sullivan, as well as others, were attentive, friendly and well timed.
We reside in the Hollywood Hills and our routine steakhouse is Cut or Wolfgang or Palm in Beverly Hills. This night we decided to drive east and visit The Royce because we use to reside around the block from the Langham. We were pleasantly surprised! The quality of steaks, the attentive without being overburdening server, the ambiance was all a perfect combination. We would definitely return and make the drive east again to have a perfect evening.
Restaurants takes pride in their service and quality of their food. Everything we ordered was delicious, except for one side (mac n cheese) that we thought was too salty, we barely touched it. It was a nice touch for waiter to deduct from the bill.
We like to bring out of town guests here because they are often impressed with the grounds and the food. My only suggestion is that some of the chair covers were a bit worn, perhaps consider changing them out for something new.
We DO NOT like the food. There are barely any selections. Very minimum level. The service is great. But that's about all.
We had the porterhouse steak and it was done perfectly! Service was impeccable and the ambiance was elegant and quiet. It was a great experience.
For me it is about the food and I thought the food was outstanding. We shared a porterhouse and it was a great piece of meat, cooked very well. Very flavourful. Service was a tiny bit slow but it was a quiet night and I don't think they had enough staff working that night. Their steaks are some of the best in Pasadena and they don't make the mistake of smothers great steaks in sauces. Be aware that all sides are extra. This isn't for someone on a budget but it is worth every penny. Will make a point of going there every time I am Pasadena.
The best Steakhouse in Pasadena. Their Wagyu NY is a must, and service was impeccable. We'll definitely be back!
We love the chefs tasting menu available on Thursday’s. It’s a great variety and a good price. Make sure to get wine pairings, the staff is very knowledgeable about wine.
This is my new favorite restaurant. I have dined here twice in the last two weeks.
My favorite dish is the strip steak. It is magnificently prepared with the perfect ruby inside (when ordered medium-rare) and crisply, wood-infused flavored on the outside. On my last visit I ordered the side dish of mushrooms which was a perfect combination for the steak. On my first visit I tried the potatoes au gratin but found the potatoes to be undercooked for my taste.
As for the service, it is the best. From the hostess at the front desk to Robert our waiter, who was attentive, though knew when not to interrupt our conversation. This is difficult to find, even in a fine restaurant. Robert was outstanding!
The steaks at this restaurant are far superior to those at Ruth Chris or Alexander's.
As for the bill, for both visits of a party of two, our bill has never been over $100.
This was our first time at the Royce Wood-Fired Steakhouse and we were not disappointed. from the valet parking to the beautiful hotel with the polished floors and gardens this is a place that you want to be. Our server was very attentive and gave service with a smile. You could smell the wood fire. The steak was fantic and my wifes Sea Bass was perfect. We plan on taking a stay cation and getting a room in the near future.
Absolutley LOVED our evening at the Royce. Thank you for outstanding service from our Waiter's Aid as well as our terrific Waiter. Both friendly, kind, efficient. We'll be back!
The experience was as always at the Royce very good. We did have one issue with getting our car from the Valet but the lady that was at the Valet desk did an excellent job taking care of the issue as much as possible.
Awesome food and service!
As always , excellent meal ! Love the service
Simon was VERY welcoming and went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience. Our waiter, Tim, was great too!
This is a lovely restaurant for a special occasion or just a nice dinner with friends. The service and food are exceptional ad you don't have to shout at each other to have a conversation
Underwhelming experience. We dined early on a Saturday night with 4 persons. Starters were better that the steak entrees. At a place that calls itself a wood fired steak house the steak ordered rare ahold not come out medium on a blazing hot plate. Meat quality was not great especially for the price. Service was good at first but went downhill when the restaurant got busy. Over a 20 minute wait just to get our check. Will not return anytime soon.
Our family LOVE this steakhouse! we always enjoyed dinning at Royce, The incredible wine list, The perfectly cook Tomahawk... Ask their Sommelier Simone , He will pick a perfectly Match bottle for a wonderful dinner . cinnamon sugar beignets is a Must.
Excellent service and ambiance...the wine selection is outstanding and the manager provides a unique experience every time we dine at the Royce.
For the consumers: We love hosting occasional dinners with friends at the Royce. The ambiance is quaint and private. Food is always excellent, and well worth the price.
For the facility: We have found consistently that the host/hostess area needs improvement. Not very well trained and not very professional. Phone and in -person demeanor could use some help. The dining staff is very well trained and excellent.
Everything was very good, except purred potatoes with horseradish was not tasty, did not have any flavor of the horseradish.
That was one of the best, perhaps the best, steak I have ever had. Our server Matthew, was terrific! Of special note, the dessert we had was the pavlova and wow! That was, without a doubt, the best I've ever had. Only minor item was the potatoes au gratin - very good, but not on par with everything else. We will definitely be back to The Royce. We may stay at a different property than the Langham, but that's another review.
Great meal at Royce. Went for the Dina LA menu, so 5 course meal for 99. Service and food were excellent. Would return. Highly recommended for Dine LA.
Food was excellent. Service could have been more attentive.
Great experience. Will attend again. The food was amazing and the service was great.
Went to The Royce as part of a staycation at The Langham, which is always an elegantly beautiful property. The last time we went to The Royce a couple of years ago, the food and service were truly outstanding. Not so, this time. The restaurant is still beautiful, but after almost 2.5 hours of sitting it it, even the beauty started to fade. The lobster bisque was excellent, and was served pretty quickly after ordering it, along with a pretty mediocre, smallish shrimp cocktail. But almost an hour later, our steaks arrived cold and undercooked and had to be sent back. As we waited another 20 minutes for them to return, we tried the giant baked potato, which was drenched in sour cream, as well as the artichoke, which was drenched in vinegar or lemon juice or some other extremely sour flavoring making it almost impossible to eat, and the creamed spinach, which was tepid in temperature and had so much garlic in it that it was inedible. The steak finally arrived back and was just okay. Still relatively undercooked (which made no sense given how long we waited for it), and totally under-seasoned. Had to ask for salt. $300 for a party of 3 (2 of whom were children) and an over 2 hour waiting (not dining) experience, kicks the value rating way down. Maybe it was just a bad night. But one that will keep us from returning any time soon.
Amazing once again!
The food, drinks, service and hospitality is by far the best and very genuine every time I come back there. Simon, the sommelier is lovely and charming as ever. Even getting to meet Chef Dominique Shelton was a pure treat!
Amazing place! Made my birthday special!
This restaurant is very romantic with great atmosphere. Our server Tim was extremely friendly, attentive, and super helpful. The food here tasted good.
The reason I gave this restaurant a 1 Star was mainly due to the disappointment I had in the manager and how he handled a situation. Here's what happen: The manager walked up to my wife and I and told us that there had been a couple of tables complaining that our baby was making loud noises (our baby is almost 1 & she's baby-talking). He suggested that maybe we could take our baby for a walk. We didn't want to ruin other people's dining experiences, so my wife and I took turns to hold our baby & take her for walks. He prefer give us inconvenince is perfectly fine. As we ate our food, there were loud giggling, laughs, loud conversations, and loud music playing from the private events on the other side of the room. It was so messed up because it's okay for other people to be loud and not my baby. When expressed my unsatisfactory to the manager, he only responded with just an okay. He did not apologize nor care about us. For the convenience when he first told us the complaints and we like whatever about the complaints. I am not sure if it has to do with my race - since my family was the only Asian party at the restaurant.
This place is definitely not baby-friendly unless your baby sleeps through your meal or in grade school. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone after this. Our dining experience COULD BE so much better if the manager could have apologized for the inconvenience. The manager doesn't care about his customer.
Dear AndyD, thank you for dining with us and for your feedback. As the manager, it is my duty to ensure the satisfaction of all guests, so when we have multiple complaints regarding another party, I must do my best to manage the situation. We welcome guest of all ages, and I regret that you feel the situation wasn’t handled properly, as our team works diligently to provide the unparalleled service for which we are known to all guests. Again, thank you for your feedback and your patronage.
Awesome birthday dinner ... love it the decor is amazing ; didn't feel rushed ..server was attentive, mangers kept asking if we were good and if we needed anything . I was very happy
"I love the relaxed feel and I definitely would return to try more dishes. The food was amazing especially the duck kale salad, the beet salad and the creme brulee. Service was great, well-timed and friendly.
The location was beautiful and the food was great! Really enjoyed the New York steak and the bread pudding was top notch!
Dining at The Royce Wood was such a wondrrful experience. They greeted us at the table by name and the service was outstanding. The cocktails were to die for! The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Not an every day dining option, but definitely recommend for special occasions and a nice night. Out.
Outstanding
