WE celebrated my moms 91st birthday. The service was not good our food took a very long time to be served. The item on the menu that we ordered was not the one we were served. The prime rib was suppose to wrapped in bacon with a topping. We did not complain because it was my moms birthday. I knew it wasn't what was described. I have been a frequent visitor there for many lunch and dinner meetings. Hopefully the chef will get the under cooks on their A game.

Enjoyed but very pricey was going for the coolinary menu but wasn't available so that was disappointing.
One of the best Coolinary menus I've ever seen! Don't miss it this August! And we'll be sure to return in the "off-season" for the scrumptious prime rib. Excellent staff too!
I ordered the prime rib specifically for the "Rib Room" name. It was fantastic! I have not had prime rib for a few years and this was amazing! Service was great. Would highly recommend - as does a NOLA resident I came to visit.
Steak house....steak extremely overcooked!!!
Visited New Orleans for my husbands birthday and had dinner at the Rib Room. Such a nice place. Have eaten here before and same great food and service. Their prime rib is delicious and you receive a generous portion. For such a nice place and good food the price is unbeatable. A must place to visit if in New Orleans.
Food is always great. We go the RR to satisfy our craving for beef. The restaurant is large but cozy and the ambiance is super for a romantic evening. We always ask for Hugo, he is our favorite!!
Très bon accueil et les plats que nous avons mangé étaient excellents
We had dinner on our first night in New Orleans here. The dining room is quite elegant, and the service is superb. The staff is especially gracious. The food was superb, and we enjoyed our meal. The atmosphere was quiet with light music in the background, just the kind of environment for couples who want to enjoy an evening out. Highly recommend.
Excellent food, service, and a very friendly staff!!! Highly recommend!!!
We went for Sunday Jazz Brunch. My friend had chicken and waffles and raved about them all the way home to Los Angeles. I had the omelet with debris and it was great!!! Lots of succulent shredded beef in a light, fluffy omelet. Potatoes and veggies on the side were tasty. We ordered a bottle of wine and our waiter was very attentive about pouring more when appropriate. The price was the usual mark-up and it was good. The jazz trio came by our table and took a request. They were good. Only one drawback: We started with salmon pate, which was OK but the toast points were a bit soggy, perhaps covered up and steamed after being toasted. But we had a great meal and a great time sitting by the window looking onto Royal Street. The restaurant was nearly empty and we wonder why. It wasn't as pricey as we thought it would be. More people would have made it more festive. Highly recommend it.
Hadn't been to Rib Room in over 20 years and we were totally blown away. As locals who dine out weekly we are pretty hard to impress and we were wowed from the minute we walked in. Great cocktails, attentive service and the food, well, outstanding! Prime rib is perfection. We will make this a regular spot for us from now on!
Fish was undercooked. Was eating it raw. Server was very overworked it seemed like with no support as I watched management stand in one place though out the meal. Was very tired from trip, and didn't want to make a big deal in front of my table. Kept eating, but fish was too raw had to stop. Felt ill all night afterwards and left Rib Room hungry. That was the worse meal I have ever had in New Orleans in 30 years. Though restaurant did take it off the bill, had no idea until I received the check. They were very nice but the could use some management tips from GW Fins.
It has been several years since our last visit, and The Rib Room is better than ever! The prime rib servings are delicious and very generous, and I believe they are very reasonably priced considering the posh ambiance and excellent service. This is THE place for a special occasion or just when you want to be SPOILED!
Great wait staff and great food. Will definitely be back.
Our server John was great. He was attentive and gave us the space necessary to have a romantic dinner. The ability to validate parking with the valet stand was incredible too. It’s not easy to park in New Orleans. My wife and I had a great time and can not wait to go back.
Celebrated our friend’s 51st wedding anniversary!
Our waiter was Hugo. He was simply adorable. His suggestion for the mangers prime rib special was outstanding. The service in the restuarant was amazing. I’m so glad we chose this restaurant for our meal.
Thank you so much.
The Rib Room never disappoints! The menu selection is excellent and the service is second to none. The prime rib is always prepared perfectly and the portions are very generous.
Excellent prime rib dinner for my 75th Birthday
I’ve dined here before and it’s always been a wonderful experience. However, this time, my medium steak was cooked well done, twice. Our sides came out 20 minutes after the steaks and the service was subpar.
We were disappointed!
We have been there many times to celebrate special occasions and this time was not good.
Although the service was good, the prime rib was too salty and the ambiance was not good by a window.
Delicious food, great atmosphere
This is one of our favorite local restaurants in New Orleans.
Our waiter was very helpful. The food was excellent. Food was a little high priced for amount, but Im well aware in a highly tourist location, the price is inflated. The service and ambience and food made it a great experience.
I had a wonderful time at the Rib Room for Mother’s Day Brunch on May 13,2018. It was $60 per person with endless all you can drink Mimosas👌😜😁. The menu selection had different selections for the first, second and dessert which all came with the meal. I want to personally thank the staff.... They were beyond Awesome!!! Norma😘😘 what a beautiful spirited woman, Sebastian 👌very nice helpful guy and a handsome young man which I forgot to ask his name but he also was very nice & helpful. They were very attentive; costumer service just A+ status! If you visit.... you need this crew! I’m quite sure everyone else is nice too (well just hope for the best) but seriously the young ladies that first greet you are welcoming as well. The food was great... but only one small issue the princess cut prime rib was a little salty. I won’t take any stars away for that. The starter 😩😩😩🤗 was soooooo good, braised short ribs with gravy & sweet corn grits. The beef was so tender & just delicious/grits phenomenal! If you’re in Nola visit the Rib Room. Oh I’m from Chicago so I’m not a local😁.
The Service was good. Main course was excellent. My Queen cut Prime Rib was cooked to perfection. Dessert was just ok. I will come back again. My only complaint, is in regard to a very loud group of regulars who were continuously using foul language. It really took away from the ambience of the evening.
Food was amazing and service was great.
We enjoyed a delicious meal with our children
Wonderful experience in a gorgeous setting. Attentive service!!
Our waiter was and food was great!
Busy place especially on a friday afternoon. Go in hungry if you looking at the (very good) prime rib..
Chef Tom Wolfe and his team were perfect. An excellent fit for our Friday lunch expectations as a repeat local
The best beef rib I've ever had in my life I felt like I was Fred Flintstone !
"yabba dabba doo"
Romantic, great waitress, Norma, watched people walking by in New Orleans because we had a window seat. The ambiance and food was great. The Royal Omni hotel was beautiful. We had to walk through it to get to the restaurant. We had the Chef's choice prime rib. Steak melted in your mouth. It came with a seafood pasta on top. Also, stone grits and lamb entree. Both were great. Appetizers were bbq shrimp and scallops, both grest. For dessert, I had a white chocolate butter cake, to die for! Must taste. Hard to describe. Been wanting to go there forever, glad I finally made it!
My husband and I came to The Rib Room for my birthday. The restaurant is beautiful with lots of ambience, very quite and we were seated by a window so we could watch the people walk by. Our waitor was an older gentlemen and exceptional, he had worked at the Rib Room for about 30 years. We enjoyed our conversations with him.
My husband ordered the French onion soup, I had the turtle soup. His main entree was a King cut Prime Rib, mine was the Rack of Lamb. We could not have had a better meal anywhere else - the food was at the top, expensive but well worth it. We shall return in the near future.
Always love the food here and the service. They accomodate almost any request with a smile!
Only had two servers working but they didn’t communicate the problem. Instead they tried to cover it up by telling us we were 6 minutes early and they would only seat us at our reservation time. We didn’t meet our waiter for 20 minutes once seated and I think they were very on their heels when I complained defending that they only had two waiters. Unfortunately, that’s not an excuse if you are paying $50 for a steak. They did comp our first drink which was nice but it could have all been prevented if they just communicated differently from the beginning.
The food and experience were exceptional. Service and ambience were outstanding.
We dined at this restaurant on our first trip to New Orleans. It was a fantastic rib house and included all you wanted. This trip the service was marginal and we waited from course to course. I was ready to give this place a poor rating until the prime rib arrived. It was cooked to perfection . Was it worth the wait to get to the steak, I can't say. All I know is after dinner I was a happy diner.
Beautiful New Orleans Restaurant. Love it before Katrina and enjoyed returning. Thing I would enjoy Sunday Brunch, that menu seems to be what I remember.
Our waiter wasn’t too attentive, had to wait and then request menus. Maybe because we had only women at our table. 😌 Matri D did asked if we enjoyed and remembered me from years ago. Nice touch !!!!!!! I’ll be back.
