We were thinking there would be music and better food options like in the past for Christmas time. It was WAY too quiet. No fun Christmas activity going on. No fun drink specials like before. Really missed the Christmas cookie martini. This was our third year at the Rib Room and we were very disappointed. Had to go to a different restaurant just to have dessert.
Alas the Rib Room has declined and we were disappointed with the quality of the food. It just seemed like they are not putting in a lot of effort. The ambiance was elegant and the service very good, but the food fell way short. The steak was very fatty; the brussels sprouts undercooked, the creme brule was cold; the fish dishes were good but mundane; everything was too salty. Not up to the reputation of the venerable Rib Room.
Enjoyed revillion dinner! Everything was delicious!
Nothing special but the service was excellent. Cynthia was top notch!
Very nice but limited menu. Fish was fantastic, service was great. Very quiet upscale restaurant.
The Rib Room was a very quiet, lighly used restaurant............most people appearred to be at the circular bar. Turtle Soup was great, beef was also great...........selection was a bit limited.
Service was challenged, and not too friendly
We went to the jazz brunch and had a really good meal. The service was excellent and the music great to listen to. The only reason we didn’t give the food 5 stars was, like so many places in New Orleans, the lack of really healthy choices, such as salads and oatmeal. But we recommend the jazz brunch!
Great place, food was excellent, service wasn’t up to part with the place, server a bit rude, didn’t know much about the food, lack of attention to details.
My reservation was for 1:45pm, I received a call at 11:30 asking me to be there earlier because the kitchen closes at 1:45, it really put me in a bad spot but we were able to make it.
I’m 100% certain that the person that called me was my server, maybe she didn’t want to stay after the kitchen was closed.
Great food, great service and great ambiance! Perfect anniversary location!
It was our anniversary and birthday dinner.
We love the Resturant and Bar. It was a romantic evening. The girl of was delicious! Thank you for making our evening special.
I have been going to the Rib Room on and off for the past 35 years . Back in the day it was special place to dine. Since then so many restaurants have opened the Rib Room just can’t complete with . The food is okay the service is good we really enjoyed the waiters. The location is in the heart of the French Quarter. Here’s the deal two people $523.00 includes a nice bottle of wine and 25% tip l just expect better quality food and if the restaurant manager reads this review he or she will know what I’m talking about.
I’m local I’ve been coming to rib room many years. I’ve try to come more often because it’s close to home . I think more food on menu is needed. Dinner. Service is excellent. Always have been . Older server that have been awhile is still the best . I think only 2 older servers are still working. Keep them hard to find good workers .
Best Prime rib ever. Horseradish cream popped. Gumbo was well seasoned and slightly spicy. Carpaccio needed more oil/dressing on arugala but otherwise well executed. Only slight was the first course took 40 min to arrive. The food was spectacular. Will be back.
Outstanding attention to detail, friendly staff, and incredible food!
Food was good but not like it used to be n the menu needs improvement.
Great place to celebrate a birthday and a Saints win against Tom Brady
Had two great meals at the Rib Room this last trip -- breakfast and dinner. The French Toast was scrumptious, and for dinner the Queen Prime Rib was just fantastic, perfectly cooked, very tender . . . a generous cut au jus. With a side of creamed spinach, it was just divine. The room is quiet and classy, but not fussy, and the staff is incredibly cordial and attentive. Love it there!
Came down to enjoy brunch. Food was wonderful as always and service was impeccable.
Wonderful meal, very attentive wait staff.
Beautiful decor, excellent service, delicious food. I would recommend this place highly!
Great food. A home run
Kendrick was our server and was absolutely fantastic. Great recommendations and always on top of our needs. Food was perfect. I had the rib crown and was perfectly cooked. It was me and my wife’s anniversary and when ever we are in New Orleans we always come here
If you want to eat prime rib this is your place. None comparable
Enjoyed the steaks immensely!
Celebrating our honeymoon 🍾
It was a wonderful meal, lovely atmosphere, and excellent service. I recommend the pork chop or the prime rib. The shrimp was a little over done. Desserts fabulous.
My waiter was very polite
The Rib Room had an elegant atmosphere, impeccable service and awesome food. Definitely a relaxing meal much needed after a few days of hustle and bustle.
Pretty good experience. Limited beer selection. Please get rid of the vaccine mandate! I know it’s a city ordinance, but the restaurant owners must push back!!!
Wonderful drinks, food and outstanding service. Will be back.
Everything was great
Prime rib tacos were delicious! Service was wonderful as always!
I love the place bc you can park for free when you go and eat, easy to get to, and make your way to the restaurant. The hostess was on her phone, and I think I startled her, but she showed us to the table. The service was good; I like Renee, but I think she was the only one working maybe, but she did her best to keep up. On to the food, so I have an issue with certain things not being hot, the soup was lukewarm (french onion), the prime ribs were not hot either, which was disappointing. The steak was hot, and the beef rib I had had a slight taste that I couldn't figure out. The salads were great, and the pork belly was GREAT. The sides were ok, and I would skip the greens and the sweet potatoes mash. The meal was ok; I would go back for lunch, maybe breakfast; I heard that it is much better, but I won't be back for dinner; the experience wasn't on par for almost $300. However, I say try it yourself, and I hope you have a better experience than we did.
Food and service was excellent
Great meal - tasty and temperature correct. Service provided by Artnisha was amazing.
Excellent food and excellent service. What more could we ask for? That’s why we come back every time we visit.
