We made reservations for Sunday brunch prior to our arrival to Aruba. After paying 21.00 in cab fare to get out to the resort, we were informed they no longer have Sunday brunch and haven't for over a year. Their web site on Open Table was misleading and needs to be updated. The reason I gave more stars than necessary was for the wonderful waitress who helped us arrange a cab to another restaurant that did have Sunday brunch. Thank you Niurka for all your help!!!!!
Great views from the hill to Aruba north shoreline
The food, the service and then add the view....doesn’t get any better than this!
Menu was too limited. No vegetarian choices. View is still wonderful.
No bread served
They used to have a very nice menu. Now they offer basically a poolside bites menu. I wish we would’ve known before going.
Over a month in Aruba I have chosen to eat at Tierra del Sol’s restaurant four times and each visit has reinforced my desire to return. The newly remodeled restaurant offers beautiful sunset skies and amazing views of the “wild” side of the island with deep blue water and white capped waves. The menu offers several of the old standards including the boule of crab-corn chowder and a number of accessible tapas style options as well as grilled fish of the day—usually wahoo—Yoo-hoo! On Saturdays and Sundays a number of barbecue options are added and, everyday, in addition to the regular menu, all Panda Express options can also be served in the restaurant. The wait staff is very accommodating and went so far as to bring me a sauce from Panda Express for my fish one evening. A variety of Cocktails, wine and beer are also available. What a refreshing evening❣️
And friendly, efficient staff!!
I visited this place one, two, three and four years ago and during my last visit at March 8 .2020 the quality of serving food was worse then in previous years.
One our of favorite restaurants in Aruba. We’ve been going there for many years... we love the new updates to the restaurant and to the menu. This is a must place to go to in Aruba. It’s away from all the noise and craziness of Palm Beach. Lovely to dine and the view of the golf course is beautiful.
The new restaurant at Tierra del Sol is finally open. You can choose from casual fare (burgers, pizza, tacos) or fine dining. Ambience is great! Perfect spot for all levels of dining.
Fabulous brunch in a fantastic setting. The restaurant was recently renovated to accommodate more outside seating, and the decor is lovely, modern, elegant neutral tones. A real gem! Unlimited mimosas and unlimited small plates. The Eggs Benedict is divine, spicy shrimp with black noodles is outstanding. Desserts were just ok, but hardly any room for them. Could have offered some fresh fruit as an option. Otherwise, absolutely delicious!
Horrible. The views are the only thing going for this restaurant. It used to be a top meal on the island. Horrible, overpriced food with horrific service. Get a cocktail and leave. Spent a fortune on crappy food.
View was outstanding. Restaurant and bar was very busy and loud. Not a quiet di ner spot.
The greatest disappointment on Aruba. First off the dinner menu on open table is NOT the same as the real menu. It’s not even close. I hope Open Table makes this change because it is clearly misleading. The food was absolutely terrible and neither my wife and I could eat the second bite. I do not believe the cats which were wandering around the tables would eat this food either.
We used to eat at this restaurant for years but clearly things have changed for the worse. Your better off eating at Taco Bell.
We frequently have house guests and always take them to the Restaurant. The food is creative and delicious, and everyone raves about the ambiance and the view since the Restaurant was remodeled. We highly recommend the Restaurant.
The menu offers a nice array of selections and our menu choices have been very tasty. Service is slow and needs to improve as they are working out the kinks after being closed for renovations for several months. The view and ambience is outstanding especially during the day light hours. A very enjoyable dining experience.
After an extensive renovation, the restaurant has become a cafeteria. All the glass and high ceilings have taken all the charm from the former. The menu is now "All Day" and includes hot dogs and mac n cheese. oh, joy! Will never go again
Have eaten here many times over years of visiting Aruba. Bar and dining area have been changed and updated dramatically. Appearance is very clean and bright. Bar is now positioned so as to see out towards golf course and dining area. Large windows/doors all around. Inside dining area is bright and cheery, with tables for two and more. Out side dining is arranged to view the golf course and pool. Food covers many interests and wine selection is satisfactory. Good for families. When we were there dining room had only been open for ten days, but service and personnel were ready wonderful. We were told that there were more plans for the outside dining area to be done and they weren’t through rebuilding. Look forward to seeing what’s newer on our visit next year.
Even Though the all you can it menu was bot available which we loved in the past , the menu choices we selected were delicious. Definitely will return next year.
The new decor was very nice. The view to the ocean was amazing!!! The server was very nice, but the time between appetizer, soup and entree was all together 2 1/2 hours. We like leisure dining, but that was a little too much. The food was very good. We'll try it again next year
Extremely disappointing. This place was a romantic dining experience with great food and ambiance. It was remodeled in late 2019 and has subsequently lost all the charm and sophistication. The menu was downgraded and the food was adequate at best. Now it is nothing more than restaurant to grab a bite after golf. Don't waste your time.
Went for dinner and it seemed like we were in a diner not the beautiful Resturant it used to be. Only reason to go is the view for lunch. Service was marginal and food is fair. Much better places in Aruba.
I was disappointed, however the restaurant was only open for 1 week ... apparently after a remodeling. I am sure it is going to take a bit to get back to normal. The atmosphere was way too loud for me with TV's blaring and inside and outside bar customers. The food was OK (I had bolognaise), and the person I went with thought the food was great (he had chicken parm). We had a glass of wine before we ordered, and I thought I'd be able to have another glass with dinner, but after 45 minutes we just wrote it off and asked for the check. I will definitely try this restaurant again because I don't think restaurant should be judged too harshly, especially when there is a re-opening ... but on the night I went they just didn''t seem ready.
They have recent reopened. Give them a month or two. They do not have their act together. Service very slow and not attentive. Food completely forgettable. Cold side dishes. Overcooked beef. Complete disappointment. They have some serious work to do
This was my third or fourth time dining at the restaurant at Tierra del Sol and on previous occasions I enjoyed it tremendously. The food and ambiance had been amazing.
However, during the last four months, the restaurant has gone through a major renovation. It had just reopened two evenings prior and I wanted to see how it changed.
The Tierra del Sol community is a gated community, with much elegance and the previous restaurant suited the community perfectly. Unfortunately now it looks like an upscale diner or sports bar. It is extremely bright inside with many flat screen TVs positioned on the walls.
The menu is a laminated sheet with the food on one side with drinks and the limited wine list on the other.
For appetizers we ordered the crab cakes and the fish tacos. The crab cakes were very tasty, however they came out on the cold side. The fish in the tacos was perfectly cooked.
The entrees of Fish and Chips and Tuna Nicoise salad were good. Although, the Fish and Chips came with French fries. They also came with a side of vegetables and mashed potatoes. Why I do not know.
In the end, I would only recommend this restaurant after playing a round or two of golf or if you happened to be in the neighborhood.
We made reservations based on information from OpenTable and the the restaurant website that it would have reopened in January. As always we received an email asking us to confirm that we will be dining there. On the evening of the reservation we found out upon arrival that the restaurant was still closed. No apologies no assistance for help. We found out that there have been several more OpenTable reservations for this evening. No idea what went wrong here and why we never got any information.
I would recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for a slow, relaxed meal with great food. Service was excellent and we both had the "all you can taste" menu. Items had to be ordered one at a time and, as expected, it took a bit of time between servings but it made it a leisurely dining experience. Not sure how fast I'd run back, but its worth a visit for sure/\
Outstanding experience overall.... food and service were GREAT! They even had a very fun experience of "All you can taste" option. For $65 you could eat ALL the items on a specific menu list and order again if you want. My daughter was able to try small portions of every item on the menu and get seconds of the items she loved. Quiet, great ambiance and excellent food! Thanks Tierra del Sol!!!!
Food and service are both excellent! Our waitress Auri and the rest of the staff gave utmost attention to us! Got great value for the good portions, and diverse selection of delicious items from the menu. Thank you for making our experience of Aruba beautiful!
Excellent meal and service Angelica could not have been more attentive and helpful. She described the menu very well snd made excellent suggestions about what to pick. We all chose the “all you can eat “. Everyone was very happy with all of the options. This restaurant is not part of mainstream Aruba but is one of if not the best on the Island. The setting is beautiful and the view over the golf course is almost indescribable. Don’t pass up the opportunity to experience this Aruban adventure
This was a great place for a private birthday celebration. The wait staff gave us personalized attention and provided excellent service. The All You Can Taste was surprising good allowing me to sample a variety of dishes. The red snapper was huge enough for another meal. The birthday cakes and singing presentation was wonderfully delightful. Thank you Tierra Del Sol for a great experience and making our birthday very special!!
We had a wonderful evening. We chose the tasting menu that offered us plenty of choice and many tasty tapas choices. The setting was perfect, service was excellent and the food absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back...
We had eaten at Tierra del Sol a number of times. The food is still excellent, however, the menu has become very limited. Tapas is the flavor of the day now at the restaurant, so if you are a tapas person, you would probably enjoy. We were especially disappointed because the tuna tartare was eliminated from the appetizers. Theirs was the absolute best in Aruba. Still, our meal was satisfactory, even with the compromised menu.
You can't get a higher recommendation for excellence in service, ambiance along with food and drink. Perfect for casual dining or any celebration.
The menu wasn’t as good as usual and our food was cold a lot of the time. The waiters/waitresses were slow to fill our mimosas. We live on the island and come quite often but probably won’t be back.
This is the best value and service on island for price !
Bring back the old chef. The new menu is unique but not good. Brought 13 people based on year before. Very disappointed.
Nice Birthday lunch
Easy to get a reservation and welcomed on arrival. Waitress suggested the fish and we both had fish. It was tasty and perfectly cooked. Prosecco accompanied. Quiet for a Friday night. Definitely will be regular patrons.
We have always enjoyed dining here on our annual visit to Aruba but this year the menu was revised to include a nightly Tasting Menu and a glass of sangria for each guest. The result is a fantastic experience with perfectly prepared appetizers, entrees and desserts that do not disappoint! Attentive service and a beautiful location add to the excellent dining experience.
Tierra del Sol will continue to be at the top of our Aruba favourites list!
