   The food we had was good, the only drawback is that it had nothing to do with the menu available here. We went for dinner and they had grilled sirloin steak and burger. As a main, they also had few courses, such as fish and chips and traditional pub food. Again, nothing like lobster, quail etc as described in the menu here. The food was not bad, but clearly not the fine dining experience we were looking for. I suggest they update their menu here.

   Very friendly bar staff and lovely waitress. Great food. Lovely wine, Berry Bros selection first rate.

   Very attentive staff and an enjoyable afternoon ... however the bread could've been fresher ( sandwiches ).. loved the tea menu and the scones

   Good service, very helpful with wine selection and during the dinner, a bit pricey, good food for a special occasion.

   Whilst the food was good the restaurant was woefully understaffed. The wine list was extensive but I had initially booked at table for 4 at 8pm. They rang to say they had a large party in at 7.30 could we make it 8.30 - OK. We didn't order until after 9 and didn't finish the meal until closer to 11.30. Much too long waiting for our food. The ambience was sterile and impersonal. It was a typical hotel restaurant with little to recommend it.

   Very disappointing never again. Scallops were overcooked,ordered two fillet steaks medium and they arrived rare ,they were taken away without an apology , and we had to wait 15 minutes whilst they were sliced into smaller pieces and cooked they didn't even make new ones the steak was also very chewy for a fillet steak. Which the waitress told us was normal for 36 day aged fillet (interesting). My wife and daughter ate their food whilst we waited for ours. No apology for keeping us waiting for the food and no offer of a an appeasement/discount nothing,worst service I have ever experienced at a two rosette restaurant . And it's not as though they were busy Just the four of us in the whole restaurant. Paid £200 for a terrible meal and experience then left. I am leaving this review to warn others and not to benefit me in anyway , as I will never return .

   Booked in advance for a saturday night. The restaurant called 2 hours before the scheduled reservation to tell us that our reservation was canceled. I've never had a restaurant cancel a reservation. First time for everything I guesss

   The food was really good and we both had a great night. We both had scallops to start followed by steak. The steaks were both cooked to perfection. Our only minor comment would be that whilst they were well cooked, the scallops felt a little stingy for the money, compared to what we have enjoyed at similar restaurants. It was also a shame the main restaurant wasn't very busy (there were only two other couples) but it still had a nice setting/atmosphere and it was a really nice meal. I guess it is just a bit out of the town centre and misses out on some of that trade. We would definitely go back.

    This could be a wonderful restaurant if only they could maintain some wonderful service On the last two occasions we have dined here , several months apart, the length of time to be served at each stage of the evening is far too long
