My wife and I plus two colleagues met for dinner. Excellent service, very good dinners with good salad options in an historic setting. The pub is beautiful with frosted glass windows and cozy areas for privacy. The staff are friendly and even accomodated my early arrival - before their starting time - by serving a glass of wine and delicious bread.

Went to the Alfred in a party of 5 after an event at the nearby Amadeus Centre - sat down at 9pm. Had a really nice welcome to the restaurant - and a great waitress and service team - very attentive and they anticipated our requirements nicely. Food was great - and we're quite a fussy bunch. I had mackerel patė followed by pan fried chicken which was simply delicious. Not often in the area but would definitely go again and will recommend to friends.

It's been sometime since we have been in London and it was a real pleasure to go back to the PA for dinner; it was even better than we had remembered it. The menu was perfect for what we was looking for; we shared a risotto as an appetizer, which was cooked to perfection, followed by pan seared hake & lamb rump, both cooked and presented well. The service was impeccable. Some great wine suggestions to pair with the meal, and all in all a very enjoyable evening. Would recommend the PA to anyone without any hesitation.

Some little things stopped this from being a great meal. The fish was too oily, the (recommended dish of the day) lamb was too gristly and served without a steak knife, and the sprouting broccoli had te woody stalks attached. Lovely attentive service made my visit memorable and some quick fixes with the food would have made my visit unforgettable.

A relaxed atmosphere with pleasant service and very good food. My second time dining at this pub and would definitely go again.
