Always top notch at The Prime Rib.
We had a delightful evening! Expertly made cocktails at the bar with great live music, and a fabulous Dinner with all of our favorites! Potato skins and the namesake Prime Rib with fresh horseradish! This restaurant will exceed your expectations!!!
They say everything is good and everything was good
Wonderful as always. Elegant dining.
The atmosphere and the people were great. My wife's rare prime rib was very cold, but in all everything was great. The chocolate ice cream that was from a local shop was great. They have the best asparagus of any restaurant I have been to. Simple but delicious.
Cannot wait to go back. We visit when in Baltimore.
The meal and atmosphere were great. The live music while you enjoy your food made the night.
Our waiter Nathan was friendly attentive and very knowledgeable.
Food and service was excellent and was enjoyed by both my wife and myself
Very disappointed with the dining experience. Food was not appealing or savory as described and given the high cost ($$$$). Served farm-raised flavorless and fatty salmon. The prime rib was over cooked, appeared to have been boiled, and was unseasoned. The Caesar salad consisted of chopped romaine lettuce drenched in a creamy dressing (without the anchovies) tossed with tiny pieces of crumbled croutons. The “famous” fried potato skins were fried extremely hard and unappetizing. The restaurant reeked of a stale, stuffy, and offensive odor. This restaurant is not what it use to be; not recommended. Will not eat here, again.
Never disappointed! Outstanding!
The perfect spot for a romantic dinner. Sensational, old-school ambiance with live piano and impeccable service. Filet was seared to perfection and the pours were generous. Go.
Enjoyed our overall experience. But there were some detractors. At a restaurant of this caliber and this price point service needs to be top level and attentive. Multiple times our party of two had empty cocktails and water glasses, we were never offered a bread basket, timing of courses was sporadic. Salads arrived half way through apps, we were neglected between salad and entrees and there was a long delay for dessert. Dessert that was taken to a different table first. Service didn’t match expectations. Thankfully other servers noticed some hiccups and filled in for our waiter at times.
Great food, great service, great time!
The PrimeRib is always outstanding
The Prime Rib continues to be one of the best-loved restaurants in Baltimore. While you might go for the signature dish (prepared and plated beautifully), please do not pass up what I believe to be some of the best crab cakes in the city. Light on the outside, buttery and tasty on the inside, these cakes look like they are held together by air. The sides are generously portioned (reccomend the creamed spinach), and the cocktails are what you would expect from a restaurant of this style. The service is impeccable (thanks Chris!), and the ambience with the piano is perfect for a dressy special occasion or a business dinner.
They also have a bar menu with some different items than the main dinner menu (which you can also order from), so if you are looking for a quick meal and a quality drink while visiting with friends, it is worth checking out.
The Prime Rib is exactly what an old-line steakhouse is supposed to be, and it remains a Charm City treasure.
No where on your website does it say anything about the dress code. Not on the main page, not on the about us tab, and not anywhere on the Baltimore tab either.
Showed up for a reservation, was informed we could only sit at the bar because I was wearing shorts. I was also wearing nice loafer shoes and a long sleeve buttoned down collared shirt (It was on a Sunday, multiple tables were not being used) but chose to wear shorts because it's 90 degrees outside.
I specifically looked on the website for a "dress code" section and nothing. I understand the dress code and am not against it, but it 100% should be somewhere on the website. Looking back now the only place it says anything is a note on the third party reservation website.
It also should be noted that during my time at the restaurant I saw a man wearing crocks for shoes and an untucked 3 button polo with a beer belly the size of a beach ball. Also sitting at the bar was another gentleman wearing just a polo (couldn't see his pants or shoes) but the point I'm making is me and my date looked WAY better than multiple other guests but were denied a table (on a not busy night) because I was wearing shorts.
I even looked at a few Google reviews to try and see any comments about the dress code but didn't see anything.
I'm extremely sorry that I showed up in shorts (also super embarrassed in front of my date). And I'm extremely grateful we were still allowed to dine at the bar, but a dress code tab should be SOMEWHERE on the website, not a little "note from the restaurant" on the third party reservation site.
Our waiter, Samuel, did a great job! As always, we had a wonderful dining experience at The Prime Rib.
An excellent experience all-around. The steaks were sublime and the music and ambience were very special as well.
What a perfect dining experience. The staff was friendly, competent and efficient.
The live music was a special bonus. We will return.
This steak house is really an old world type of restaurant. Dark, luxurious, piano playing in the background and an extensive very expensive wine list. I had the broiled veal chop which was very tender and served with a a jus. My husband had the prime rib roast excellent. The sides were not as good as the entree but the potato skin appetizer, escargot and clams casino were exceptional. I will definitely go back.
The rack of lamb was really good. The service was great. We went on Fathers Day and had the best time.
Prime rib sandwich is truly worth the visit.
We had a lovely dinner for our 37th anniversary. Back to where we had dinner when we got engaged.38 years ago.
Always enjoy the potato skins and all of the crab dishes.
The homemade choc ice cream was outstanding.
All in all a wonderful evening
I'll miss the downtown location - I hope they take some of the accoutrements with them when they relocate.
I’ve eaten at ateakhouses all over the country and The Prime Rib is still my favorite. The best strip steak, clams casino, Potatoes au gratin and broccolini. Perfect decor and service. The shaved horseradish w/ the steak isn’t done anywhere else to my knowledge and the new addition of the roasted garlic is also a nice touch.
My husband and I were greatly pleased that we decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary at The Prime Rib. Our server, Nathan, was amazing, the food's presentation was beautiful, and the taste was delicious! We will definitely come back again in the future!
Excellent food prepared as requested and service that can’t be topped.
This classic Baltimore steak house never disappoints.
Service was outstanding, as always. Nathan was great. Menu was somewhat limited compared to pre-Covid days. Very glad to be able to enjoy one of our favorite restaurants once again.
Wonderful expierience as usual.
It was a wonderful place to celebrate my StepFathers birthday. The Prime Rib is such a wonderful restaurant for any occasion. We will most definitely be back
Great waiter, very attentive and friendly! Great food! I love the Lump Crabmeat and Crab Imperial!
A great experience. Looking forward to our next visit.
Bobby has to be one of the best servers in Maryland. As usual, all was perfect.
We are sort of “let’s sit at the bar” regulars. The server Dan, knows what we like and is friendly and attentive!! The Prime Rib sandwich is my favorite!!
The food was terrible
Dinner was amazing. The live piano music fantastic. Christopher provided customer service excellence.
For me and my friends, we consider it to be one of the finest restaurants in Maryland.
The Prime rib and Greenberg skins were fantastic as usual!
Always a pleasure to eat at The Prime Rib! It is the best!!
