Service was extremely slow. I miss the great service of Porch past.
Fun place with good food and drinks. Our server Riley was great. We were catching up with an old friend and Riley was attentive without being intrusive realizing we had a lot to catch up on.
I used to frequent the Porch quite often but I had not been in a few years. Unfortunately it was not a good experience. Food was mediocre. Service was awful. Not planning to return anytime soon.
Good food but the service suffered. It wasn’t very busy, lots of empty tables but we couldn’t get our appetizer or drinks without jumping up and down to catch our server. Might not go back for a while. Maybe they are short handed.
Waitress was very good, corrected a mistake very quickly. Food has been better on previous visits.
Good as always!
The Porch never disappoints!
All good! Service excellent Food came quickly and was good
Good food, but missing the crab cakes from pre-pandemic days. Fries were rather wimpy and just salted, not really seasoned. Music was LOUD, beyond "high energy" level. It was just LOUD. Service was good, but we felt rushed even though we tried to set the pace slower. He tried to give us the check three times even though we said we weren't finished, there was no one waiting to be seated and there other empty tables in his section should other parties arrive so the rushing seemed very unnecessary. I like The Porch and will return, hoping this was an off night.
It was very quiet for a Sunday night, this was good for me, could have great conversation without struggling to hear the folks at my table.
Great drinks and snacks on the patio. Excellent friendly service. Misters weren’t working so it got too hot and we had to leave (we had a dog with us or we would have gone inside).
Good food with great service and a very nice atmosphere!
Sweet server, great food, fun menu.
Brussels Sprouts Appetizer is fantastic. Food is great in special the Cheeseburger and dessert with ice cream and cheesecake out of this world. Service is very good and thee restaurant has a great atmosphere
I’ve been wanting to try The Porch for a long time, everyone seems to love it. There’s always a crowd, so I thought it must be good. What a disappointment! Mediocre, “spicy” chicken sandwich and soggy fries, bland chilaquiles, and they were out of biscuits for a Sunday brunch at 1:30. The menu is uninspired, which might have been forgiven had the food been delicious. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. A friend got a lunch portion of the chicken fried steak, and while it tasted ok, I’m offended that it cost 22 dollars. 11 dollars for a side of Mac and Cheese? 9 dollars for cornbread? Why? The drink menu sounded fantastic, but the drinks themselves were just ok. 9 dollars for a coconut daiquiri, which was basically lime juice and Malibu rum. The strawberry crush was flavorless. Service was good, ambiance was ok, although it was much, much too loud in there. I think this is a case of a restaurant resting on its laurels, and benefiting from its excellent location. Don’t believe the hype! There are far better-and cheaper-options for a Sunday brunch in East Dallas.
Favorite place to eat at every time I visit Dallas. Come here at least 2x the whole visit.
Was greeted immediately. Waiter was great and friendly. Joked around with us. Food was great. Tasty. Would definitely go back.
Air conditioner was not working and no one mentioned it until I asked. Had to return a chicken fried steak because it was swimming in grease. Used to love this place, but I’ll have to
think twice before going back.
Food is really great!! One thing myself and wife noticed from the moment we walked in to leaving. Everyone was frowing, not a smile or happy face to be seen. Little slow getting things to the table.
Nice location, easy parking, great service and delicious food. Unfortunately sat next to VERY LOUD group of 4 that kept us from having a nice conversation for the first half of the meal. Service was great, timely and very helpful. Food was delicious, my wife really enjoyed the salmon.
Service was poor! There was barely anyone in the restaurant and it took almost an hour for us to to get our food. My husband ordered soup and onion rings. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich minus the bun and a side salad. Not sure why that was so difficult.
The tortilla soup should be called hot sauce soup because it tasted like someone poured an entire bottle of hot sauce in a bowl with chicken and a few chunks of avocado.
Of all the restaurants I’ve dined in since moving to DFW this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had.
It was Father’s Day, and we had a later sitting (around 1:30 or 2). Everything was fine when we got there. We were seated quickly. The staff was sweet to our kids. It took a long time for the server to acknowledge us, and the section was not busy at all. Another couple were sat in the same section, and they left as no one came and helped them. Finally we got our drinks and ordered. It took about 45 minutes for our food to arrive. My food had clearly been sitting under the heat lamps for a while. Nothing seemed fresh. I had biscuits with gravy and spicy chicken. There was barely any gravy, and the biscuits were hard. My husband’s sandwich was ok but fries had no seasoning at all and also had sat under a lamp for a while. It was overall a very poor experience. The Porch has gone downhill since the last tome we were there.
The Porch is my favorite, go to place, in Dallas. The food is always great, the servers are so friendly, and there is parking available behind the restaurant.
We went for Father’s Day brunch. The vibe is wonderful and our waitress was superb. The pimento cheese appetizer started us off quite nicely. The kitchen was pretty behind but we were not in a rush and didn’t mind. When the entrees finally arrived, my husband’s chicken and biscuits were great. However, my son’s burger ordered with no veggies came loaded with lettuce, tomatoes and onions. My scrambled eggs were burnt, steak tough, and none of my meal had a lick of salt, pepper or any flavor. Very disappointing considering the cost of the plate. The banana pudding was good though.
We used to go to the Porch during our not so regular visits to Dallas. Not having been there since prior to the pandemic allowed us to see the significant drop off from our previous visit.
Service was horrible. A table near us, that was seated 5 minutes AFTER us received their appetizers before we ever received a menu. A cocktail took 15 minutes to receive. Our server didn’t seem to care. We asked that Brussels sprouts be brought out before our meal as an appetizer, we were assured this would happen. After waiting 30 minutes, we asked about our food and were told he was just going to check. Sprouts were warm but not hot. Then the food was brought out cold. I’m assuming it had all been sitting waiting to be picked up.
Food was OK. There was limited selection on entries. Special of the day was patty melt - meh. Wife ordered Caesar with Salmon. Instead it was with chicken. As mentioned above, food was not hot. All in all, we’ll choose somewhere else in the future.
Food was okay, the drink I had was great. Staff was very nice
The worst ever in life
The AC was out and our poor server was drenched in sweat bc he was so warm. Needless to say the service wasn’t great bc he was so miserable, but considering the circumstances I’ll cut him some slack. We’ve had much better experiences there. They should’ve brought in some fans or something! We heard another couple leaving saying they’d never be back.
Every thing we ordered was fantastic! I don't really eat chicken but I ordered their hot chicken and biscuits and my husband had chilaquiles. I have no complaints. They were busy but the servers were attentive.
The food was just very off. We hadn’t been to The Porch in some time and don’t think we’d be back just isn’t what it once was.
Good food and service. Even with the steady breeze on the patio, the flys were abundant.
We were seated immediately upon arrival. They were very safety conscious by sitting patrons with a table in between each party. Our waitress server was very attentive. The food came quickly and was tasty. I originally ordered the avocado toast with salmon. After my order was submitted to the kitchen the manager came out to apologize stating they had ran out of salmon. My replacement order was maple pancakes w/eggs, and my meal was comped.
Our first time at The Porch but we will certainly return. The food was very good - I had the Spicy Chicken Sandwich and my wife had the Short Rib with pasta. We both thought the Short Rib was particularly good as the pasta was a perfect complement to the dish. Nice setting (we dined inside), although it was a bit loud. Looking forward to our next visit!
Went for brunch and the food was exceptional!
Had brunch on the patio and it was great - accept our table slanted... but overall good experience.
It was the company I was with that made the experience exceptional
Cocktails were fantastic! However, the Grain bowl wasn't very good.
Our server was great! Food was delicious!! Get dessert
