We had a delicious meal and wonderful wine that the sommelier picked out for us! Can't wait to go back
Josh and Peter and their team have always provided amazing food and service. Unlike many restaurants we have been to, they are always striving to do better and better as the years go on and it shows. The creativity and quality of the food and service are outstanding.
DO NOT GO HERE. Suffice it to say, you will leave several hundred dollars later disappointed by the absence of customer service from a “Michelin Star” restaurant. While the COVID-19 pandemic was consistently used as a excuse, there should be no exceptions to giving a reserved table away, lackluster Birthday “celebration”, and a complete lack of respect for the guests.
Due to the pandemic we had to dine outdoors. So, the cars on the street were a bit noisy. But Plumed Horse did everything it could to make the guests comfortable. Overall, one of the best outdoor dining experiences during this difficult time.
Was an amazing meal. And I am hard to please .
Had a lovely time and the most delicious meal - it was chilly dining outdoors (due to Covid) though they did provide some helpful heaters. We were so glad to dine here.
The food is excellent . But from the very beginning the person asking about our reservation was very rude. As per our waiter even more rude. Maybe we didn’t fit in ... but our money is worth the same as anyone else’s .
The only downside was dining next to the street traffic, but that is reality during this pandemic. Plexiglass partitions separated us from other diners. Food and service were great. Our wine was decanted and served with good timing.
Thanksgiving dinner at the Plumed Horse was outstanding, we enjoyed every minute!
Weather was extremely cold when we arrived. We were asked to wait at a table that was also extremely cold and was not attended to until about 15 minutes into our wait time. The temperature at our actual table was much warmer than where we were but still quite chilly. Our server was excellent and very attentive. During the upcoming winter months I would suggest providing some kind of single-use blanket available for diners, (if that’s at all possible with COVID restrictions?) The soup and mushroom risotto in the pre-fixe Thanksgiving menu were outstanding. The server also provided an alternate gluten free version of the dishes for me. In lieu of the Turkey and gravy entree I was given salmon, however there were no side dishes included and the salmon was underdone. I wouldnt usually care that much about this but the price of the meal was $135/pp. and for that O had expected a bit more. The other thing that I thought should be reconsidered is the 22% service fee that is automatically included in the bill. Also $24 for a simple well drink is excessive. I understand that COVID has made life extremely difficult for the restaurant industry but I think there must be alternate ways of recouping some of the lost income through more discretionary measures such as offering some kind of perk for giving a donation to the restaurant, or buying a gift card for the restaurant, etc. I wish the restaurant all the best during this difficult time.
The food was just average, it is the least interesting Michelin’s restaurant We have ever visited. Our waiter was not friendly, not enthusiastic, but they charged automatically 22% service fee.
Outdoor Dining unfortunately means that we were on the roadside ona busy road while enjoying out meal and feeling cold. Expected a better set up interms of shielding some sound from the road vehicles.
Even under extremely difficult circumstances (COVID), the Plumed Horse team provided special food with great service. They’ve spared no expense to make their outdoor dining safe, warm and enjoyable.
Excellent food, great service. Heaters at every table. All silverware in plastic packets!
In an era where I don't really get to see the inside, let's start by saying that the Plumed Horse has the best outdoor seating/heating of any restaurant I've been to in these times. I didn't know these heating systems even existed before I sat down in front of one. It was like having your own tanning bed, as we sat in a highway getting fed amuse bouche under a tent chandelier. 2020 is wild, y'all.
Great experience! Anniversary dinner in pandemic times is not easy but the Plummed Horse has created an outdoor dinning that leaves nothing out.
Professional servers and superior food. Glad they promote local wineries. A night to remember
My birthday
We've always loved this place, but it is amazing to see how wonderfully they have handled the COVID safety. We are very hesitant to go out as many other restaurants have tables so close together. It's very impressive how they have made outdoor tables, with partitions between them and so many other safety precautions far above anything I've seen anywhere else. The food is fabulous as always. It was a spectacular experience and will be returning often.
Amazing as always!!!
Antelope taste like raw tuna with a white raw tendon it, environment was loud with loud music and many big trucks zooming by, one car tried to pass another on the single lane road that almost hit the outdoor dining area. Food wasn’t as expected for a one star Michelin, server was a bit serious that make the experience not very pleasant!
There is a reason that Plumed Horse is a favorite of ours - the menu is always exceptional, with every dish delivering beyond expectations. Service is pure perfection and the ambiance - even with COVID - is elegant and inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant for every occasion or no occasion at all!
Best restaurant in the Bay Area. Best staff and best service and best food! We keep coming back!
Our experience exceeded our expectations. Plumed Horse has implemented many covid-safe practices that put us at ease. It was a truly enjoyable experience, and we are looking forward to visiting more often in the future
We are an incredible meal with the best scallops and soufflés we’ve ever had. Tables are outside on the street due to COVID which is less than ideal but Plumed Horse does a great job making it feel both more private and inviting than other places we’ve eaten recently.
Outdoors for COVID. Individual table heaters made the temp very comfortable. Food was excellent - 7 dishes between the two of us and everything hit the mark ! Excellent service - attentive, pleasant and kept safety in mind.
Outstanding in every respect, as usual! The Plumed Horse never disappoints and every visit is a special occasion.
Way to pivot to elegant outdoor dining! I loved sitting outside just as much as inside. We missed the tasting menu with wine pairings so it would be great if you could bring that back.
Amazing. Chef Peter is the best in the bay
Exception experience here for an intimate birthday dinner. Even though it's outside, it felt safe and secure. There are large plexiglass dividers between the socially-distanced tables. The wait service was excellent - there when we needed them and then quietly blended back into the night when we didn't. The food was delectable. Some of the best food we've had in a long time. We will definitely be back, likely again and again. Perfect Date Night restaurant.
$60 for steak fillet that was cooked using sous vide. the steak is rather bland and fibrous. the cooking methods is not listed on the menu so it was a surprise to me.
on the plus side the appetizers were good
I've visited plumed horse many times but the last three dinners were either not impressive or just disappointing. at this point I've decided this place is no longer special and rather over priced
The food was excellent, but due to covid many of the service elements we enjoyed during prior visits are absent. No champagne cart or highly attentive and personalized service. Still a very good meal, but for the price I expect more.
Always a treat to dine at the Plumed Horse. Food is excellent!
Fantastic all around. Staff was excellent. Food delicious. The kitchen accommodating. They were well-versed in Covid-19 protocols and adhering to them consistently. Best outdoor dining experience since the pandemic began by far. But would’ve been an outstanding night regardless!
our food are over cooked: steaks are medium instead medium rare, scallops are also over cooked.
the wine is so so.
the dessert is most disappointing, good presentation, but it feels like a badly baked pound cake, dense and lack of flavor.
Overall, it was a very disappointing experience for us.
Great food and well done Covid precautions. Tables spaced far apart with dividers. Staff were masked.
Extraordinary food. It was my first time at Plumed Horse. I am definitely coming back.
My wife and I arrived for a 7:30pm Sunday dinner reservation. We were seated at a table for two protected by plexiglass dividers from one table on 2 sides that were adequately spaced from other outdoor tables along the secluded north side of the restaurant. We felt safe, which was most important. The food was outstanding and presented impeccably. 22% service charge added. We are so grateful that this restaurant is open and serving even though choices are understandably limited to about 6 appetizers, 6 entrees, and 1 dessert plus amuse bouche and closing taste treat.
Just yummy!
Not rushed
I felt
Best wine selection on the peninsula. Now you can see the selection on your phone without touching a tablet. Menu selections reduced because of the situation but all were outstanding. Well done!
Decadent, thoughtful, and delicious. I haven't been out to many restaurants in the year of 2020. They have done a wonderful job of making you feel safe, that they are taking every precaution they can for your and their health, while creating the ambience and experience you hope for in this fine dining situation. Get the souffle (!!!), the spade and plow tomatoes yum, and the scallops were cooked perfectly. It's a special treat to eat here and so worth it. Thank you for taking care of us and I can't wait to eat here again once the menu changes to Fall.
