The Plantation House Restaurant
High above the coastline on the island of Maui sits The Plantation House.
From its unique vantage point atop Kapalua Plantation Golf Course, the elegant open-air dining room offers panoramic ocean views and breathtaking sunsets.
The menu emphasizes Hawaii's fresh fish, with dishes that are enhanced by the bounty of fresh produce and herbs grown here on Maui. The Plantation House hosts winemakers for special events throughout the year and is host restaurant to the PGA TOUR Sentry Tournament of Championships each January.
It was such a wonderful meal with amazing service and the staff made my family and I feel so welcome and comfortable even with children in our party. Such a wonderful meal all around!!
They gave us an anniversary card and special dessert, making our special occasion very special. Much appreciated.
Our last night on Maui, before all done in was allowed. Service and food was excellent. We prefer a quieter place with a beautiful view.
We always love the Plantation House. Aba was our fab waiter. Food is always delicious and the view and ambiance can’t be beat. Our fav restaurant on Maui!
Our breakfasts were wonderful. The eggs Benedict are the best anywhere. My husband had a great breakfast too. Such a beautiful setting and view!
We were there for brunch. Wanted to order 2 eggs and forgo the potatoes and toast for 1 pancake. Were told that would be $10 more! This is not the same Planation House we enjoyed for years. Very doubtful we would go back!
The views, the service, and the food are unmatched. What a treasure of a find! 🌺🍹
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the service from all staff was excellent. The food, however, was a bit lackluster. The vegetable pasta was supposed to be served with a mac nut pesto sauce which the waiter told us had basil. In fact, there was no basil and thus there was not much flavor in the dish.
For $29 it was also overpriced.
The fish special, calamari and seared ahi were delicious as were the desserts, albeit also expensive. The wine list was adequate.
This was a return trip..we were here 22years ago.. it was amazing last time! Unfortunately I think we picked the wrong dish, fish tacos, no flavor:( Drinks were good, appetizers
My waitress KIM literally spilled juice on my table while placing the glass onto the coaster. She shook the excess liquid from her hands and just walked off. I had to wave at her to get her attention so she could return to the table to wipe up the mess.... Disgraceful!
The food was very good, in spite of the terrible service.
They have changed menu and look of the restaurant. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t as good as it used to be. Miss the Old Plantation House
Our last night in Maui
Fantastic, food, service, and ambiance. We enjoy dining here every time we’re in Maui.
Great food and great service
Great service, food and view. This has been our favorite for years.
Food was great, atmosphere was nice, service was okay. However the end was disappointing as I found a metal screw in my port, the way it was handled was very poorly. The waiter provided excuses of how they didn't know how it happened but never apologized. The manager didn't even come over and they comped only the one drink. Personally, for class of this restaurant and cost of dinner I would expect more. It would be horrifying to think what could have happened if this was swallowed.
We had eggs benedict Blackstone- best hollandaise sauce on the island of Maui!! They have changed their menu and increased the prices. Exceptional views!!
Love this place for breakfast. Ate too much each time we visited. The Bananas Foster pancakes and the French Toast Bread Pudding were awesome. So was the rest of the menu!
Beautiful setting, but it stops there. We waited over an hour for our food before we left. Sat down in a relatively empty restaurant at 9:15, ordered at 9:25. Several tables came over the next 30 minutes while we patiently waited for our food. At 10:00, the table seated at 9:45 was served while 3 of the tables seated earlier continued to wait. I asked the waiter why they were served so quickly while we were still waiting and he completely blew us off like we were being so demanding. 20 minutes later, still no food and our waiter just rolled his eyes and said “I’m sorry, your food will be out shortly “. At 10:30 the waiter was no where in sight and no sign of any food so we left. I told the host to tell the manager that we were leaving. We had to wait 10 minutes for our car, and no one came out to say anything to us while we sat outside the restaurant. This was without a doubt a doubt the worst experience I have ever had and without a single explanation or sincere apology. Two tables nearby left while we were waiting for our car and, again, no one bothered to stop them. If you aren’t hungry this is a great place to visit for the view but if you want to eat, good luck.
The food the last two times has just been ok
I thought food was
Much better last year
We were a party of nine celebrating our 50th Anniversary. Fabulous place and atmosphere. Our waitress was great and the food was wonderful. Try the Ahi Tuna!
Always a "go to" place. Fantastic food and one of the best views in Maui. The manager Natalie & server Kenin provided an exceptional experience!
Robyn was a great waitress, on top of things and always coming back to ask if everything was ok. Views are amazing. Definitely will be back.
Amazing view of Molokai and the ocean. Great food and very personable wait staff.
The place is beautiful great environment. We come to visit 1-2 times a year. We were very dissatisfied with the quality of food. Use to be better. Watery eggs and the presentation was not good. Need to beef up the quality of how the food is prepared. Hope next time it’s better. Also bottles of wine and champagne should not be so expensive.
A disappointing menu with restricted choices compared to prior years. Food was good but not much to chose from!
Fantastic for our group of 25!! Amazing food service and location!
Best pork chop I have ever had and the service was spectacular
Great food! Great view! Great service!
Great views and good food
This is one of the most delightful places on Maui to eat a dinner, enjoying spectacular views and really delicious food. I love this place because it is quiet, restful, and the unhurried service lets you relax and enjoy the experience. The servings are generous and beautifully presented. Everything is a pleasure. I have eaten more 'gourmet' food in other restaurants, but this place is gourmet enough and totally satisfying. My favorite place in Maui.
We stopped by the plantation house for lunch - the short-rib french fries were a great starter (maybe too much?). For the entrees we got the fish tacos and a Da Burger. So much food, we waddled instead of walked out of the restaurant (and even got to-go boxes). Great / cozy atmosphere and lovely views. I rarely remember a waitresses name days after a meal, but Erica (Erika?) was fantastic!
It’s a must atop when I come to Maui every year!!
We have been long term customers of the Plantation House but since it’s reopening in December it is not the same place. The breakfast menu is more limited and the prices have been raised. Everything is different and it is not for the better.
A few weeks ago we ate in the bar and found the bar menu to be lousy. To change the regular burger into an In and Out burger is ridiculous.
When you lose your regular loyal customers you need to pay attention. It is not good and we and many others have expressed their disappointment. It looks like the Plantation is going the way of the Pineapple Grill - take a popular great restaurant and run it into the ground.
Incredible Maui experience! From our wonderful waitress who was attentive, kind and conversed with us. Or the incredible food which every single bite was incredible from appetizers, to salad, to the main dish and dessert, and don’t forget the amazing views. We will definitely head back if we are in Maui again!!
Great food, beautiful view and friendly staff! We will definitely be visiting the plantation house the next time we are in Maui!
We checked in upon arrival and were directed to the bar for a drink then they forgot about us. 25 minutes later I approached the hostess and they couldn’t find our reservation? They were unable to explain how we were forgetting about. No compensation.
We had a reservation and was celebrating birthdays and an anniversary. It took over 90 minutes to get our food and they never offered to celebrate our son's birthday or their anniversary. They took one cup of coffee to make up for a mistake in the kitchen????? We eat at 5 star restaurants frequently and were so disappointed.
Recent reservation has transformed the Plantation House from a somewhat special dinner or lunch venue into a venue which seems more suited to a casual tee shirt lunch. The menu is also much more limited. The prices are all that remain of its former self.
