Shrimp and Grits
She Crab Soup
A Delicious Blend of Crabmeat, Sherry and Cream. A Savannah Tradition
Food was good but felt like selling merchandise was just as important.
The meal was very nice. Service was prompt and friendly. Only problem was “open Table” had them booked so we ate late. Except they were not booked. Error on Open Table.
Absofreakinlutely loved it, one of the best seafood platters I’ve ever had
Loved the buffet and the drink in the skull head and you got to take it with you
We loved how the menu looked and had been anticipating going for months. When we finally went, the decor was expected. The service was good, the food left a great deal to be desired. I got the corn fritter and Crab soup. The shrimp on top of the corn fritters was unseasoned and overcooked. The soup was ok. The snapper came with collard greens that were tasteless. The snapper itself was underwhelming. Highly disappointed. We won’t be back.
Excellent dinner and enjoyed the atmosphere!
Great evening - food was exceptional 👌 enjoyable
Excellent food service and historic atmosphere. A must.
We went there for lunch, with no expectations. We were very pleasantly surprised at how good everything was! The soups were absolutely delicious and the homemade biscuits and cornbread were phenomenal. We are looking forward to going back!
This isn't a restaurant, it's a factory. The service was so fast and "efficient" it was as if they wanted to serve you and clear the table asap for the next tourist. Biscuits and corn muffins served as opener. Biscuits were ok, the corn muffin was dry and inedible. I am spice sensitive so, based on waiters advice, order shrimp and grits. I admit for most people it would be mild, it was too much for me, but that's not the problem with this dish, the shrimp came with tails on (so I had to get my fingers into the sauce to peel the tails off the shrimp) and the shrimp were way overcooked. Wife had the she-crab soup and it was good, lot's of crab but flavor was just ok. The list of cocktails is, in a word, strange. This is not fine dining, it is tourist dining in an old building with no ambience at all. Nothing special about the food or the place. So many other really good places in Savannah, search one out.
Very nice experience with excellent food. Great historic ambiance.
Our server Terry was excellent!
Service: Hostess and server was excellent
Good: Calamari, Santa Fe Shrimp, She Crab Soup, Salmon, bread
Not so good: Crab Dip (very little crab, very little flavor), Shrimp & Grits (SALTY)
Our server was wonderful. We had a small dinner party for a birthday. It's was an overall wonderful experience. The food was delicious.
Great service, great history, very attentive. Buffet area was clean. Greens were excellent as was fried chicken. The fish was a huge miss. Overall, it was a decent experience with phenomenal service Sorry we forgot her name. We were there Sunday 1/16 at 12:45 pm She was tall, dark burgandyish hair. An overhaul of the gift shop is much needed. Make it more authentic, lest dollar store quality
Great food and service in a historic location! Lots of fun.
Great place for lunch. Really cool history and ambiance.
My granddaughters 9th birthday
All around great food and experience
Server was fantastic, and food was .. amazing. I expected basic fried seafood, not fine dining, and was pleasantly surprised. Absolutely worth going in the off season, and will be back for a ghost tour!
Food was mediocre and drinks served in glasses that were dirty
She crab soup and the shrimp and grits were amazing. Coming back again for the fried chicken!
She crab soup and both seafood entrees very good. Food came out fast. A little rushed. Server was not masked.
Excellent food and service. Too full for dessert but will definitely come again.
We really enjoyed this dining experience. The history, food and atmosphere was a great addition to our family trip to Savannah. The crab dip and cakes were the best we’ve ever had! Parking was very accessible as well.
Get the fried chicken... It was amazing!!! The atmosphere is really neat and we heard about this place from our tour guide!!! We will come back!!!
Excellent service, excellent food! Love the history of the Pirates house!
Our reservation was for 5:15. We arrived 10 minutes early, and were shown to a table for two in a tiny room with two other tables for four. There was one table occupied by three, and when we came in, it was a bit awkward because you could hear every word spoken. They became very quiet which I’m positive impacted their dining experience as well as impacting ours due to lack of privacy. And, the room was cold!
We were not acknowledged for almost 15 minutes after being seated so first impressions were not good. However, once we were greeted, service became better through the rest of the evening.
We started with the crab dip, and that was very good. My husband ordered the ahi tuna, but that was not available. He then ordered the grouper, and the meal was prepared well. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and that too, was very good.
By the end of the evening, we were happy with the meal and the service, and would definitely return.
Loved the history!!! We had She Crab Bisque…. Excellent!!
Enjoyed the Shrimp & Grits.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant!!
Great historical restaurant, very interesting interior. Big menu, big servings, especially of the fried chicken dinner plate - easy to share for 2. Great must for dinner - make reservations in advance!
I always enjoy eating at the Pirate House. Thus is the second time I had to choose my second choice entree because they did not have the first choice.
We’ve been to the Pirates House many times in the past, and have always loved it. This time is was just ok. The service was great but the food was just ok. Not great, not anything special. We always try to make it a ‘must do’ stop on our trips but will probably try some place new next time.
Great value and quick service. Our waiter was very attentive and personable.
Best restaurant in Savannah! Great service and as far as the food and drinks, there is something for everyone. Perfect spot for families.
Seems more like a family place, good place to take the kids.
Best restaurant in Savannah!
I was very disappointed with the meal. House was cool as it is historic, but I did not feel any history was highlighted in anyway. Food was of diner quality at best and I do not consider myself to be a picky eater. I would not recommend- poor value for the costs.
The low country spring rolls are a must. This is a very nice restaurant. The food is great and the service even better
