The entire family is sure to enjoy Savannah's most intriguing & historic restaurant. At the Pirates' House, our most precious treasure is the food. Situated in Trustees Garden, merely a scant block from the Savannah River, the Famous Pirates' House is the most historic spot in Georgia. The Herb House, erected in 1734, located inside the Pirates' House, is said to be the oldest house in Georgia. The Pirates' House first opened in 1753 as an inn for seafarers and fast became a meeting point for blood-thirsty pirates & sailors. Enthusiastically recommended by AAA, Food & Wine and Redbook.

First visit to Savannah. Enjoyed everything about The Pirates House; the atmosphere, friendly and attentive service, and the food. The Honey Pecan Fried Chicken deserves the accolades it gets. My husband said his Tuna was cooked to perfection. We shared Low Country Spring Rolls which were yummy, too. Highly recommend.

The restaurant smelled musty and had an unpleasant order. It did not look very clean. The food was not seasoned well and was a little bland. Lighting was a little dim, too dim. Our server was great, friendly and pleasant. I was surprised by the overall appearance and I hope it will improve.

This place COULD be really cool if they played up the pirate theme with the servers or some kind of characters to entertain you. Definitely wasn’t worth the hype in my opinion! It was just another restaurant in an old building. I had they pecan chicken, it was good.

Was seated quickly, staff was friendly, food and portion size was good. Reasonable priced for the food you received. There was a buffet, someone in my party ate from the buffet and said the food was good. It’s an old building with history, overheard a staff person talking to another guest about the history of the building. I would go back.

The salad was fabulous. The fish was good. Service was fine. Noisy table of men celebrating a promotion dropping f-bombs was very tacky and not what you want to hear when having a $100+ meal for two.

the place is cute but the food ranged from mediocre to inedible. No attempt to correct or adjustment was made when I returned half my food and said it was soggy and bland. I paid the same price for wonderful food in Savannah at other establishments. This place relies on its hype as a tourist hotspot.

I can't wait to go back when I pass through again. We Had a GREAT server..I wish I could remember her name. She knew her menu..she was sooo sweet and on it! My Husband's birthday and they gave his a dessert with a candle in it..delish! We'll be back! Wish you were closer. We live in Florida. See you soon! Joanne Longhway

Kids might think this place is cool. Ambiance is lacking and I thought the servers would weave some of the history in throughout dinner but not the case. Dinner biscuits were the best part. Read about it, learn about in on a guided tour, and maybe stop by for a drink is how I'd play it if I had a do over.

I had gone to the Pirates House years ago and remembered it being good. Unfortunately, this time I was extremely disappointed. Do not get the shrimp and grits, the grits had more of a thick oatmeal texture than your normal grits. Server didn’t really communicate very well either. I will not be going back, the food needs to get better for this historic establishment.

I had high expectations due to previous ratings. The food was ordinary at best. Interesting building and service, to their credit, was excellent. Portions were good but prices were high relative to quality, however, on par with other restaurants which serve similar fair but of greater quality.

We were seated in the Herb House #1 section which has 3 tables, so we enjoyed a quiet meal. The other two tables were finishing up their meal as we began, so it was very enjoyable. Zach was our waiter and was attentive and knowledgeable of both food and answered questions about the history of the Pirate House. We ordered the gumbo, the pistachio crusted Mahi Mahi and their signature pecan fried chicken. All of their pricing seemed reasonable to us. The best dish was their chicken, some comment it is oily and there is a bit of oil on the plate with pecans. I assume it's olive oil as it was light and not greasy. The My Mahi Mahi was dry and really couldn't tell if it was a pistachio crust, could have been bread crumbs, which I found odd. It tasted ok, but again, it was dry. The gumbo was good with a little zing to it. Loved the history to the place, walked around the 1st floor since it was Monday night and not very busy. 288 year old building! Would go back, can recommend. Would probably try different dinner offerings to see how they fare. Plenty of parking on site(free).

Our family of 6 celebrated two birthdays at The Pirate's House this past Sunday afternoon. We had a delightful time, most especially as a result of our waitress, Kim, who was attentive, bubbly, and fun. Two members of our our party enjoyed the buffet and the rest ordered from the menu. If I was honest, the buffet was just okay, not horrible or great, but acceptable. We did thoroughly enjoy the fried green tomatoes from the appetizer selection. Those that ordered from the menu seemed to be more satisfied. Overall, we had an awesome experience and would gladly return.
