Shrimp and Grits
I expected a different environment inside. The food was good but not great for the price. Gift shop was simple. I expected more piracy decor or food related to the restaurant pirate theme. It’s good if you visit. Overall it was a nice experience.
The food was amazing - highly recommend the fried green tomatoes :)
Food was good but some of it was cold. Quick service
The service Tom provided was excellent. He was attentive and personable. The food was very good. We will be back again.
Thanksgiving meal. Service was great!
Michael the server was excellent and the food was great.
The food an food was very good. I would go back again.
Very nice restaurant visiting Charleston. Need to go.
Best fried chicken there is.
Our waitress, Iris was superb. The buffet was brilliant southern soul food at its finest. The historic setting made this dining experience perfect! Five stars isn’t enough
Amazing food, service, vibe. But because there are little mini exhibits throughout the restaurant, people want to see them all, social distancing be damned. We were seated by a secret staircase and several families came over to see it, without asking us if it was okay or wearing their masks! And no guidance from the restaurant on seeing the exhibits in a socially distant way (wear your masks, stay 6 feet away from diners, etc)
I haven’t eaten here in years. We had the buffet and the food was so good!
Buffet was mediocre, especially for the price. Chicken was dry. Service was so so.
Always excellent. Best fried chicken I ever had. We always go to The Pirates' House when we are in Savannah.
Service was phenomenal! Shrimp & grits was so good and picky kid loved their salmon.
The food was great and the staff was excellent
Neat experience, especially walking through the whole place. Food was good, server was quirky but well mannered. Reservation was placed several days before and we were seated a little earlier than the scheduled time, which was nice.
Service was very good, wait staff was amazing. Food was tasty. Portion size was very good.
Food as always was excellent. Service was not up to expectations. Our waitress Susan rushed us through the meal and basically told us to leave after we were finished. Our meal took 30 miutes and we felt completely rushed. Never has this happened before. This should not turn people off because it is a great restauarant.
Our experience was very enjoyable. Our meals were very good and the ambience was great. We would definitely visit again, when we are in Savannah. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. Lots of history in the tavern.
Abundant good food with good friendly service. The prices are a bit high
The waiter was great
Excellent food! Michael gave us excellent service! Too many guests roaming around our table to see the “Pirate House” made the experience less than perfect.
Lunch buffet was definitely worth the money
Best shrimp and Grits ever !!! Highly recommend and great for families
Very delicious of pecan fried chicken, service was great
The food was okay but not special. Had fried shrimp and collards instead of fries and it was just okay. Bloody Pirate (Mary) was too salty and didn't taste like there was much vodka in it at all.
We were celebrating my wife’s birthday. Went on open table on Tuesday and made reservations for 8:45. We showed up a little early at 8:30 and they already had our table ready for us. The host told my wife happy birthday right off the bat from looking at the reservation. Our waitress was the epitome of the three Fs fast fun and friendly. The food was great. There was three of us and we got the lump crab cakes with boiled shrimp, pecan half chicken, and the baby back ribs. The prices are a little high but you get good generous portions. This will definitely be one of our special occasion restaurants loved this place.
Love this place... atmosphere is great food is amazing I would recommend their pecan crusted fried chicken
Awesome service! Terry was exceptional!
Fantastic!! The wait staff and the pirate host were very knowledgeable and accommodating.
Pirates House is exactly what you would expect of this sort of restaurant and they own it. They don’t pretend to be fine dining and it can be fun for a family with youngsters. The seafood linguine was good. The service good. I can now saw “been there, done that.” 3 1/2 stars
Great atmosphere and food was amazing!
I love eating at historic restaurants and this one did not disappoint. Our server was great and he gave us the history of the building. We were able to go through the greenhouse area and take a little tour of the building. The skull crusher drink is really good and the souvenir mug is worth the price. Our daughter was a little disappointed in the taste of her fish (it was pretty plain), but the vegetables and our other meals were great. I highly recommend the fried green tomatoes. We will definitely return next time we are in Savannah!
We had a great evening at The Pirate's House! I'm glad we ate there!
Very good service and food. We had a wonderful dinner and our server was exceptional.
Great food, great service. Swash me bucklers, yar.
Would absolutely go back again. The food was incredibly good - I had the NY Strip steak with broccolini and potatoes. The value vs. price was also very good. You have to try the Chatham punch. Our server Ali was great and gave us all some good stories to take with us about the history of the "herb room" and a little boy named James that still causes mischief to this day. No doubt I will be back to explore the many other food options. They also have a nice bar and a gift store upstairs. Very close walking distance from our hotel, we stayed at the Homewood Suites by Hilton which is two blocks from the Pirates' House.
I’m from Charleston,SC which is a sea port town therefore I know good seafood. Even though their she crab soup was a number one seller I don’t see how because to me it was the worst. Their was no actual crab in it and soup should be hot not lukewarm. Other than that everything was okay. They need to offer something else besides the French fries, because some people are watching their carb intake and a salad would be a better choice or coleslaw.
