    Delightful restaurant with historic feeling. Shrimp and grits were amazing. My friend had the pecan chicken which was enormous. It would be great if they offered a smaller portion. She had 4 pieces of fried chicken which was way too much

    I miss the old pirate theme wait staff and the cellar tours being included in the meal service. The mac and cheese on the buffet left alot to be desired. The establishment has gone way to retail and has lost its history

    The ambience of this restaurant and mediocre quality of the food does not support the high price you will pay for it. The best thing we had here was the local wine, but for a meal which cost over $100 for the two of us, I expect a nice table to eat at and top notch food. This restaurant has neither. There are much better dinner options in Savannah.

    The Fried shrimp was the best I've had since Iiving in the low country for over 40 yrs. Lite batter, Large shrimp and more than you could expect.

    Had an absolutely terrible experience here on Saturday. Our waiter was a complete jerk. I asked for gravy for my mashed potatoes and he said they didn’t have gravy. I asked for more of the sauce that was drizzled on my fish and he said he “couldn’t get it for me because it’s made at the same time as the fish.” Then he disappeared for 30 min and there was no one to bring us out checks. We flagged down a bus boy and asked to speak to a manager. Then a fake manager, clearly just another bus boy, came over and pretended to be a manager and then went to get our waiter. He finally brought the check but they were split up incorrectly.

    Oh how I wanted to love this. Had a reservation and the wait was minimal. Where we were seated was subzero, but I could deal with that (yes, I considered running up to the gift shop for a sweatshirt). It was my birthday dinner and our server Tom was amazing. All was well until the table next to us was seated and a member was so trashed they couldn't even hold their head up and kept putting it down on the table. Now this is a very small space and I probably could have held her hair back if necessary, but the rest of the group quite vocally played dumb about how she got so drunk. The absolute LAST thing I wanted to worry about was someone getting sick near me while I was trying to enjoy the amazing food. My companion and I were mortified that they were allowed to even be in there with her in that condition. I'm all about having a good time, but that was too much and completely ruined what should have been a great evening. We rushed to get out of there and ended up getting to-go boxes because we were afraid of the puke potential. Again, service and food were great, it was REALLY cold in there (probably good for Drunk Chick), but we couldn't finish our meals much less think about dessert. We may try again next year, we shall see. Tom was AMAZING and I don't think anything could ruffle his feathers!

    Good food and wonderful service. Prices are pretty high and I'm not sure the food lived up to the high prices. It was also absolutely freezing inside. Wear long pants, shoes and a sweater if you're going! Our server was the best part of our experience.

    The history of the building was a treat and to be able sit inside a piece of local history and lore was very fun. Our server was incredible, welcoming and shared some stories about the location. Food was really good too!

    Possibly the best fried chicken I've ever eaten. Both our meals were wonderful. Bob was cordial and very smooth as our server. The building is worth a look even without eating. If we come back to Savannah we will definitely be back to this great restaurant.

    Our server, Vicky, was superb, knowledgeable, and fun. The food was mediocre. Uber did a good job getting us there in time. Driver was lots of fun.

    Only drawback was coming from out of town and being seated in the banquet room rather than in the main part of the restaurant. Made reservations in advance so I was hopeful we wouldn’t get a “first available” type of seat. It was just less fun being in a bland banquet room. Our service was excellent so that made it better.

    I loved this restaurant! From how old is was to how it was decorated and the buffet was delicious (fried chicken, collards, blackeye peas, seasoned rice, sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese) but there are other options, too. Dessert comes with the buffet but you get a choice (peach cobbler or peanut butter pie, which was dry/hard but the cobbler was good). We enjoyed it very much. Only recommend having dessert on the bar and making sure it’s tasty, not dry. Our waitress was so sweet! I would love to go back again.

    Went on a busy Friday night. We were sat right away and our waitress Rebecca came right over. She is the sweetest lady and took such good care of us. Our college aged kids went and checked out the place, it is very charming and lots of history. Food was very good, the crab soup is delicious! Definitely will go back.

    We had the best time eating here and the food portions were very gracious. The food was great and our waitress Samantha was very attentive. Samantha took good care of us and made the experience even better. I highly recommend coming here. This place also has a lot of history behind it.
