About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
  • Neighborhood gem
Not only can you get a juicy roast prime rib at The Parson"s Table, but you can eat it inside a church, too. The location remains very much the same structure that it was in 1885, when Little River Methodist Church was built. The cherished establishment first opened its church doors as a restaurant in the late 1970's and has been serving exquisite American steakhouse fare ever since. The restaurant's decor is positively Southern-charm antique, complete with dark wooden walls, stained glass windows and an original Tiffany glass lamp in the main dining room. An award winning wine list graces The Parson's Table as well as an outstanding fresh seafood selection.

The brie appetizer needed more time in the oven - it was not soft. The entrees were not hot enough But, our server was quite fun.

Outstanding meal from the wine choices to the oyster appetizer. Then the salads with the cornbread were not only delicious but the perfect size. We ordered duck breast and the wagu steak special both with sweet potatoes. It couldn't have been prepared any better. The meal was finished by a shared chocolate chip pecan pie and expresso martini. The pie was so good and unique. The martini was the perfect finish to the evening. Our waiter was informative with perfect timing spacing the courses out. We haven't stopped talking about the dinner.

We started with drinks from the bar - my wife had a martini, and I had a bourbon - martini was very good. Emily (our waitress) in the dining room was very attentive and pleasant. We started with the tuna appetizer (very good) and then we shared the 8oz filet (excellent) and with salad, green beans and potatoes, we had more than enough to eat. Our food was excellent and service outstanding. It is always a pleasure to dine at The Parsons's Table. We try to visit there whenever we are in town.

Arrived on time with four guests and was seated immediately. Food was very good, pork chops, prime rib & duck. Matt was our server and seemed to be having an off night, not very attentive and meal was 2 1/2 hours total. Disappointed because we recommended The Parsons Table and not a good experience for our guests as first time visiting location. Wife and I have dined here several times before and were very pleased.

We had a short rib, the mahi special, and the duck. The appetizers were phenomenal. Great drinks. Server was very attentive and pleasant. The special is delicious. However, the short rib was not trimmed at all of the fat or scored to let the other meat through.. The duck was good however I would slice the skin to render the fat out rather than having to trim it or leaving it on. Be him many times and would be back again. The short rib dish was certainly an aberration.
