The taste of the food was delicious but the value for the scallops was poor. Only THREE tiny ( quarter size) scallops for a $42 plate! I wouldn't order it again even though it was delicious. If you're craving scallops, go to Pono where at least they are a LOT bigger. The octopus starter was delicious and of appropriate size for prize. And the drink special ( cucumber gimlet) was really good but pricey for this areas ($17). Overall, it was a delicious meal, but over priced for portion size.

Everything about our experience at Oyster Loft was exceptional. Michael helped us, keeping the experience light and very knowledgeable. The cocktails were strong and well-made. The oysters were tiny, briny shots of bliss. We had the duck and salmon, both cooked as though the chef had inspected them. Minor mishap because my date was nervous and ordered my cocktail wrong, Michael breezed right past the mistake and made it right on the bill.

I've been coming to Oyster Loft since it opened. I live out of town, but I always make time for at least one dinner here. This time, I was with two friends, neither had been before. I thought I knew what I was ordering. I’m a creature of habit, and that habit is the Local Sablefish with miso glaze. It’s the chef’s favorite, and mine too. I’d talked it up so much that both friends ordered it—and ate it enthusiastically. Five stars from both. We started with a small plate of octopus, and it was fantastic. The texture was perfect—meaty, not rubbery. It came with chorizo emulsion, potato, crème fraîche, chimichurri, and lemon aioli. All the flavors worked together beautifully. We also got local oysters—fresh, clean, and flavorful. They were a great start and paired well with the octopus. Now for the showstopper. Our server—a tall gentleman whose name I forgot, who has been there since day one, and provided excellent service—recommended the pork chop without hesitation. His enthusiasm was so genuine, I went for it. Honestly, I rarely order pork chops out because I have found them to be hit or miss (and usually a miss). This one? Total hit. The Kurobuta Pork Chop was out of this world. I can’t even describe how good it was—sizable, flavorful, juicy, perfectly cooked. Hands down the best pork chop I’ve ever had. An actual experience. It came with bread pudding, creamed spinach, black truffle apple sauce, and a sourdough crisp. And if “bread pudding” makes you crinkle your nose, don’t let it. It was the perfect sweet-savory pairing—soaking up the juices and rounding out the plate in a way that made every bite pop. We ended the night with an exceptional version of Bananas Foster to share. I’m not the biggest fan of it usually, but personal bias aside, the preparation and flavor were spot on. I definitely recommend it. A great finish to a memorable meal.

We had the most incredible dinner! We sat outside on the patio and were treated to a stunning sunset while enjoying some of the best seafood we’ve had. The oysters were fresh and flavorful, and the salmon tataki was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The ahi tuna with wonton chips was packed with flavor and perfectly balanced. But the standout for me was the sable fish. Absolutely amazing! So tender, buttery, and full of flavor. As if the food wasn’t impressive enough, the staff surprised us with a free scoop ice cream to celebrate our anniversary. Such a sweet touch! The wine selection was top-notch, and every staff member we interacted with was genuinely friendly and attentive. Truly a memorable dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a great experience with our cocktails, dinner, and the desserts, the peanut butter chocolate tower was memorable, our waiter was named Julissa and she was the best, expensive but worth it!

We have loved Oyster Loft for several years. Unfortunately we had a not so great meal. The Poke Tower had little flavor. The bone marrow was overwhelmingly salty. Pork Chop was very dry. Scallops were ok. Bread pudding was fantastic and oysters were tasty. I'm sad to report this as we have enjoyed our meals there. This is the second time the meal really wasn't up to par. 4 people, 2 appetizers, dozen oysters, 3 cocktails, 1 dessert, and 3 entrees. 395$. Not close to being worth the money spent.

We were celebrating my husbands birthday and had a wonderful dinner. The food was next level. We shared the risotto as an appetizer and it was outstanding. My husband had the porkchop and I had the Sabelfish. Both entrees were delicious. Our server Michael was friendly, very knowledgeable and professional. We look forward to returning the next time we're in town.

The Sable Fish Entree is so good, I can't wait to come back. The cocktails with smoke make it a special event, too! All service personnel are friendly and take time to talk with you ..... very home town and connected!

This was recommended to us by a former Local who moved to Thousand Oaks. Had a great time over all, with wonderful service. The food was fantastic. We thought it would be nice to sit outside on the patio, but it was spoiled for quite awhile by a drunken skunk all the way on the other side of the patio from us! Really way TOO LOUD, barrel laughing like an idiot. After that "party" left, it was very nice atmosphere. We could actually hear the ocean instead of idiot with screaming laughter. Realized later we should have sat inside and looked out at the ocean from there. The inside dining was fairly quiet with a lot of full tables. When we're in the area again, we'll visit and dine inside.
