I go out of my way to eat here when I’m in Baltimore. Atlas group has this historic site hitting on all cylinders. My fiancé and I had a dynamite meal in such a great setting. How fitting that the grandsons of a woman who once worked in this building back when it was a ski hill gift shop, now have revived this restaurant. That’s right skiing in Maryland and not just at Wisp. But I digress… For an all around great meal the Oregon Grille is a sure thing.

Dine in | Lunch | $100+ Let me start by saying, I have known the Oregon Grille pre grill (1997) to where it was a boutique and artist showings. I am not dumb to this house that was built in the 1770's by the Price Family. (have lived in GS Valley and own a 300 acre farm in this area.) So this review makes me pained and dumbfounded as a patron since 1997. Here is my recent review that pains me. "Came this day to enjoy a lunch. Knew it was expensive, but we wanted a change of scenery so we thought we go here to OG instead of our favorite spot, Petit Louis (Roland Park). Boy, were we the dummies. I should of read the reviews prior to going. We had been here many times before Atlas took over. Our waiter was new. Ok, we can still have fun knowing, just knowing, there would be 'kinks' ~ first the food. Truly not that special. The Caesar dressing was not like it used to be with very minimal flavor. Bone marrow was pretty good, but I can make this at home with more flavor and tenderness. Steaks (6 oz) were pretty tasteless without much flavor. A filet of beef should of be seared quickly so get some taste into it. Instead, I think they precooked them in sous-vied and gave them just a bit of color at the end. Mine was supposed to be extremely rare, it was more med/rare. I am a cattle-woman-owner of a farm for 50 years, so I know a good flavored steak and this (both) were not it. The service ~ was almost horrible. Took drink orders - which took about 15 minutes to get. Waited for another 15 minutes to get bread, but no butter. Had to ask management for butter. No sign of our appetizers, which appeared finally 30 minutes after sitting down. Finished and sat with our dirty plates before us until another wait staff asked us if we were done. We waited another 20 minutes for salads. Sat there again, and asked other wait staff to get our entrees because our initial waiter was non-existent. We never ordered dessert because we could not wait another minute $260.35 was wasted.

This was our second visit to the Oregon Grille since it has reopened under the Atlas Restaurant umbrella. We went for brunch, and sadly had similar food service issues as the first time shortly after the restaurant had opened. We were seated for nearly an hour before our food was served (brunch, no one had ordered appetizers). My sister and I had both ordered a BLT made with fried tomatoes, pork belly and aoli, and both us us selected the option for a fried egg that was printed in the menu. After the long wait our sandwiches arrived not with a fried egg, but with a side of scrambled eggs (that looked overcooked). The staff was apologetic and immediately offered to replace the sandwiches. Unfortunately we had to wait an additional 20 minutes while everyone else at our table finished their meal, before receiving the replacement. The sandwich was good, but I'll admit preferring a more traditional BLT. Without our asking the restaurant did comp those two dishes and my mother's dessert, which we appreciated. The Oregon Grille is a beautiful restaurant, but so far I have not been impressed by it under the current ownership. I miss its heyday with white tableclothes and excellent food and service. I was glad to see that they kept the live pianist but the jazz music played was a bit too loud and frenetic to be background music.

It was a very nice dinner experience except for the service. The waiter made us feel very rushed and pressured to order main entrees. He kept stopping my every 3 min and at the end just brought us a check without us even for it. We felt like we should pay and leave. It was rude and not relaxing. We were in the restaurant under 2 hours. Food was good and delicious.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Oregon Grille, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was outstanding, showcasing a perfect blend of flavors and presentation. Each dish was prepared with the utmost care, reflecting the high standards of the kitchen. What truly set this visit apart was the impeccable service provided by Christie and Ashley. Their attentiveness and friendly demeanor made us feel welcome and well-cared-for throughout our meal. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations, ensuring that every detail was perfect. When the weather is at its best, the outdoor bar at Oregon Grille becomes an incredible experience. The ambiance is serene and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a memorable evening. Christie and Ashley enhanced this experience with their exceptional service, making it an evening to remember. A special mention must go to Trevor and his wonderfully curated wine list. Trevor's expertise in selecting and pairing wines added another layer of enjoyment to our meal. His selections perfectly complemented the dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience. Overall, Oregon Grille exceeded my expectations with its delicious food, top-notch service, and exceptional wine list. Christie, Ashley, and Trevor, in particular, deserve special recognition for their outstanding hospitality. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant, especially when you can enjoy the outdoor bar in good weather.

We dined outdoors, music from outdoor bar a bit loud for diners. Excellent steak, sides and cocktails ok, overall somewhat overpriced at $150 pp without deserts or a bottle of wine.

For the high caliber restaurant that Oregon Grill purports itself to be, our overall experience can only be rated as Fair. We sat at the outside terrace bar for Happy Hour, only to find that the bartender was only one on duty to service the entire bar. The bar soon quickly filled up, as the weather was perfect the day we went. However the sole bartender quickly became extremely busy, to the point of becoming nearly overwhelmed by the large amount of customers and their requests. While the bartender was always totally professional and courageous to the customers, we found we had to ask for basic silverware every time we received a new dish, as our previous silverware was removed from the bar where we were sitting. Perhaps if there was adequate staffing at the bar, silverware should always be provided to the customer during and when any new dishes are served! It became irritating to always have to ask and wait for fresh silverware to be provided. T

Really wanted to love it here. Have been hearing great things about this place from friends so my fiancee and I gave it a try. We frequent steakhouses as it is our favorite and always get our steaks medium rare. She ordered the Bison ribeye and I ordered the Dry Aged ribeye, both medium rare. Hers came out rare which she did not complain about initially and tried to eat. Mine came out overdone. The server agreed after seeing the outside and having me cut in the middle. After getting a new one served, it came out barely cooked. Not rare, RAW on the inside. After sending it back yet again, i gave up after getting another overcooked (no red at all) piece of meat. It was when I was frustrated about the situation that I showed the manager Alex that even my fiancee’s steak tried to eat wasn’t cooked right that he Long story short, the manager Alex went out of his way to try and fix the situation. As bad as it was, we appreciated him looking like he truly cared about our experience and wanting to make it right. He took the steaks out of our tab and gave us desserts on the house. He was very personable, had great communication skills and was very apologetic. He really made what almost was a terrible experience, not so bad. My fiancee and I have both worked at restaurants before and understand things happen. We will chalk it up to a bad day on the chef’s part and will give it another try…eventually.
