Oregon Grille used to be one of our favorite restaurants. I had a decline in health which kept us from going out like we used to for the past 10 years. Last night we celebrated my 37th birthday at the Oregon Grille and it was horrible. Our waiter was fantastic and the only reason we didn't cause a fuss.
My husband ordered his steak medium and it was the rarest of rare. Red and mushy. I ordered the lobster tail and filet. The lobster was difficult to cut with a steak knife and I could barely chew it. The filet was undercooked and the presentation was home cooked level at best. The rolls were fabulous as was my Maker's Manhattan. The dress code was more casual which is not the best for an "upscale" establishment and the restaurant was nearly empty. Not the Oregon Grille we loved before and we will most likely not return.

4.2 Overall, a great experience. This could easily be a 5* place. It was my dad's 99 birthday, and I requested an "off the main room" place for 7. Very accommodating. Server was beyond grand. I tipped her accordingly. Water gentleman was great, except he filled the water glasses to the very top, making it hard for an older person to lift without spilling. Husband ordered a lovely salad with salmon on the top. Delivered to table was just salad with no salmon. Server had to go back to kitchen and order a salmon, which took about 10-14 minutes to prepare and was delivered to table after the salad had been eaten. We didn't even ask, but they took that off the bill. Food was great, and the atmosphere even more uniquely so. Will go back for his 100th, most definitely.

I love this restaurant because it takes me back to some of the fine dining of my childhood and
young adult life. My dad was a steeple chase jockey and a thoroughbred trainer and I relive
parts of that every time I come there. Love the food and staff. Thank you!!!!!

We have long loved the Oregon Grille, ever since it first opened years ago. It's a special place for special occasions (& I like inventing "special" reasons to go). It is not inexpensive and gents are required to wear jackets for dinner, but if you want a quiet, plush, memorable meal with fine wine or a cocktail, in Maryland's horse country, this is the place to go. The bar is fantastic; completely old-school brass, glass, mahogany. The rest of the restaurant has authentic old architecture charm, too.

Valentine’s Day - Service was wonderful. We were a bit late but never felt pressured for a busy night. We will request Anna next time. Veal medallions worth a repeat. Aged NY Strip tough, less flavor than expected. Bread Pudding (chocolate) my favorite. Oregon Grille is always a favorite with its dependable high quality service and food

Oregon Grille is one of our favorite restaurants, and we always enjoy the experience. Unfortunately, we have to say that they didn't handle Valentine's Day very well at all. When we stepped into the entry way there were 15 other people waiting to be seated. The gentleman at the desk (though the computer with the reservations was active) was writing down names but then continuously forgot them and pointed to couples and said the wrong names. Then he would walk away sometimes to seat a group other times not sure why but would be gone for an extended period of time considering people kept entering the area. It was a disorganized mess! They should have had more people assigned to seating, looking for groups that were seated in the bar, etc. There should have always been someone at the host table. Once we were seated, the food was wonderful but slow arriving. Our server was great. Will continue to come to Oregon Grille but maybe not on Valentine's Day!

The atmosphere was very nice. The waiter was amazing! He was very helpful and extremely polite. The food was absolutely dreadful. I ordered the 3 pound lobster. It was so over cooked that it literally took 2 whole minutes to chew one bite. My girlfriend ordered the rack of lamb. The texture of the meat was good. But the sauce they use to season the meat was beyond words horrible, practically inedible. I would go there again for desert or drinks, but definitely not for food.

The food tasted great but it took us 3 hours to get out. Every table around us would get there order taken and food very fast. Our waiter barely stopped to take our order. We had to stop him and ask him to take our order. Lots of time we would make eye contact with him while our plates were empty or we needed something. Like I said very nice place, huge sides and great steak. But our server needs to hustle up. Especially on Valentine’s Day dinner. I figured the restaurant would want to get table moving to get more people in and out. I don’t think we will be coming back next Valentine’s Day.

First experience here and it was ok. Atmosphere and weight staff were excellent. The lamb I was told was awesome, however the clam casino and scallops were not. Clams were good except for the amount of sand I had to chew thru. The bacon wrapped scallopes were cooked perfectly, but again had bits of sand. Having to chew sand ruins it for me. I can understand the occasional bits of sand and know that some means fresh, but that was way to much. All in all was a good experience, but if I’m paying that much for a dish I don’t want to eat sand.

I made a reservation for 6 for a 2pm lunch on a Saturday, which I knew I really didn't need. We were there for a special occasion and arrived to find we had been put in a small, somewhat private room, to which we were pleasantly surprised. The food was good, we had an excellent time and could cut loose a little without disturbing anyone else. It couldn't have worked out better if we had planned it that way. Jamie, our server, was wonderful and took care of whatever we needed, in addition to putting up with our silliness! It was a simple, but special occasion, and a wonderful time all the way around.

My 2nd favorite restaurant in Baltimore (after Woodbury Kitchen) and had another great experience. New host, Bill, was engaging as was the wait staff. Great bar and I prefer to sit inside next to the fireplace. Steak au poivre is the best entree. Good wine list.

We went during Restaurant Week. Some of us ordered from that menu, others from the regular menu. The food was good, nicely presented and served, and the staff was excellent - friendly and efficient. There was live music downstairs but because of the size of our group we were seated upstairs - not as attractive but fine. (They were accommodating a size change, which was very nice of them.) Oregon Grill definitely gets an A.

When you book, let your server know if you want to be in the dining room, the bar or the happy hour alley. We ended up in the empty alley that is usually used for happy hour (although we went for dinner) and that was a bummer because I was looking forward to the live music (piano playing). We had a great meal and conversation though. So overall, it was still a very nice evening.

Oregon Grill never fails. Everything was outstanding. The host phoned several hours before the res to make certain that everything would be all right and meet my expectations. We were greeted by him upon arrival and immediately made to feel special. We enjoyed sitting upstairs, complete with the fireplace. Charming! Our waiter was fantastic, and even walked all eleven of us downstairs to personally tell each of us “Thanks and good night!” Restaurant Week menu was great, with no skimping. Of course, the horse decor had our two riders, who had never been there, in awe. Thanks to ALL.

I ordered off of the restaurant week menu. The soup was briny and uneatable. The trout was tasteless; the only taste was the overly-sweetened sweet potatoes. The dessert (brownie) was average.

Our server was excellent--and we loved the piano (as usual).

We recently moved to Maryland and thought Baltimore County Restaurant Week would be a great opportunity to try out this well-known local restaurant that so many people had told us about. The ambiance was very quiet and intimate, and our server Todd was great. However, the food was disappointing, and we guessed it might have been that we ordered from the $35 fixed Restaurant Week menu. I think this was a missed opportunity for the Oregon Grille to introduce some new patrons to their wonderful food, because the food from the fixed menu was far from wonderful. The mushroom soup was very salty, the beef tenderloin was tough and under-seasoned, and the rainbow trout was fine, but nothing special. Most disappointing were the desserts, a brownie that tasted like it came from a box, and a huge square of "bread pudding" that was just chopped up dinner rolls -- no liquid, no sauce, no cream, and no flavor. Having tasted real bread pudding in New Orleans, this was somewhat of a travesty.

We anticipated smaller portions due to the smaller price tag for the Restaurant Week menu, but we did not expect the Oregon Grille to sacrifice its culinary standards to this level. I would still like to taste the food everyone around here raves about, but I'm not sure I will be back. I feel a little taken advantage of by this Restaurant Week experience.
