   We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation but they sat us at a nice table right away. We had an attentive server during our dinner who explained the various dishes and options. I had the Fried Chicken which was delicious however I substituted the mashed potatoes and gravy for the Mac & Cheese and so disappointed in the potatoes as they tasted like instant…pretty sure they were. I was surprised to get instant potatoes at this caliber of restaurant while paying $35 for a chicken dinner. The biscuits served with our salad were hard, dry, overcooked (one in our basket looked burned) and served with plain butter (other restaurants had light, flaky biscuits served with honey butter). Cocktails were 50-75% more expensive than the other 5 star restaurants we ate at during our visit. I am glad we had the experience of eating here but would not come back nor recommend to our friends.

   We came for a late lunch while visiting Savannah. The food was incredible. We shared the fried green tomatoes. I had the country fried chicken with mashed potatoes and collard greens and it was to die for. I expected it to be at least good given we are in the south, but it was amazing. I would definitely come back, maybe for dinner next time to see if it’s different.

   First time there everyone was pleasant service was exceptional. Matthew our service was very helpful and very friendly. So happy we chose to eat there, very good choice.

   The food was good but not outstanding. You pay for the atmosphere, not for the food. Our server was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was pretty, quiet, and elegant. The food was average and overpriced.

   Once again we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch! Our favorites were the fried green tomatoes, the pink lady drinks, she-crab soup and praline basket dessert.

   The restaurant is great with a lot of original furnishings and decor it really takes you back to old southern style. The whole ambience of the place was very enjoyable and was made even better by our waitress who was a hoot. She made the dinner very entertaining. The food was not fancy but rather basic southern cooking done well. Way too much sugar, deep frying and pecan additions. It makes for a high calorie meal but it's certainly not fine dining. The wine list is relatively short but it has some good value items and for us it had a number of wines available by the glass. Bottom line is that it's a fun tourist place to go for a dinner that doesn't break the bank. If you have out of town guests take them here

   Lovely place and very good food our table was in a dimly lit area and v quiet so lacked atmosphere in what was a busy restaurant. Nevertheless Our server did well - food was good my choice’s were good but my partners were a little disappointing but enjoyable nonetheless

   The outside of the house was beautiful. Easy to get to. We sat downright away. Be prepared to enjoy your meal and take your time. The appetizers were delicious. Especially the Mac and cheese jalapeño bites. There are a lot of salad options as well! The entrees are large, so save room. The flounder is their specialty, but only get if you like a bone-in full fish on your plate. The biscuits are the highlight!

   I was excited about dining here based on the reviews and history but I did not have a good experience and wouldn’t recommend coming here. There’s not one area that I could highlight as being good. We were sat in the tiniest room in the house, which could be perceived as romantic, and at first we thought being away from the other energetic rooms would be good, but the interior was so dark and the temp in the room was cold so dinner was not enjoyable, nor did it feel like a special occasion place. Our server seemed hurried and our entire meal felt rushed. For being an upscale restaurant, we were done in just over an hour. Our main entrees were on the table within a minute of our first course being cleared. It was a very odd dining experience. We were told they were out of the prawn cocktail appetizer but then another couple in our room received it. They were out of the wine I ordered and while I was looking at the menu for another choice, the server started making recommendations. I didn’t appreciate that, it made me feel rushed to give him a choice. I’m not a wine snob but I live an hour from Napa so I don’t need help with choosing wine, my indecision was because their wine menu was pathetic. As for the food, I ordered the filet mignon and I swear it wasn’t a filet I was given and on top of that, it was not the temperature ordered. My husband ordered the crab she soup and it came out cold. Both our side dishes were cold as well. There is nothing to recommend about this place!! Even the bar area downstairs isn’t special. This was our first time in Savannah and we had better meals elsewhere on this trip.

    Excellent. Hoping to go back on the next trip to Savannah. The biscuits and butter were the best anywhere Food and.service were outstanding
