Food was great. Fun time in the tavern room. Bad smell while waiting to be seated

The North House never disappoints. Our waitress was great, we sat in the bar to catch the Sox game. The 4 of us had plenty of room in our booth and the food was outstanding. Def try the ricotta app and the scallop dish with pasta pillows. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Also changed our reservation twice and it was no problem. Highly rec The North House.

Everything was excellent! Our server, Shelley, was fabulous and took good care of us. Food was excellent and in a super cute atmosphere!

What’s not to like…all the little touches were there…thank you North House for treating my family so warmly…can’t wait to come back.

Great dinner for 1st anniversary. Quiet and intimate table at the far back of the restaurant was great.

After searching on Open Table for a restaurant we have never tried that would book with the OT dining reward, I was intrigued by this one. It was a leisurely drive on a Sunday afternoon to a beautiful setting. The service was perfection. We started with a Late Harvest cocktail (fig vodka, lemon, cranberry, and APPLE BUTTER-OMGNESS it was delicious. Apps of tender fried calamari and peppers and pork belly with figs-both - perfect. Dinner was slow braised short ribs with roasted vegetables over sweet potato purée. Enjoyed a French 75 cocktail with dinner that was light snd refreshing. 5 stars all the way! Will be back. I love they have private dining rooms to reserve-perfect for an upcoming milestone birthday for my husband.

The food was great and they have a vast drink selection. A very nice setting inside and it wasn’t too loud. Our server was very friendly. Our food did take a while to get to the table but they comped a third drink for us because of it. Overall a good experience.

Greeting on arrival was friendly, sat at reserved table in the bar. Server was initially terrific, drinks came quickly, tasty warm bread and butter were served, then things fell apart. Server was also tending bar (with other servers who were also tasked with serving tables in addition to providing service to customers at the bar). It was a Friday night, 8:00 pm, not crowded at all - available tables and open seats the bar. I was impressed with the number of staff coming in and out of the bar. We finished our cocktails and could not get the attention of anyone for wine or another drink when the meal arrived and was placed on our table. Scallop dish was beautiful, but so salty it was inedible. No follow up after meal served. We were done eating when the server finally came to table and we asked for the check. She asked about our food, or another drink and we offered our disappointment about the food and service and told her we were ready to leave. She did offer an apology for not returning to our table. She had another staff member bring our check and they apologized and said that the charges for our drinks were removed from the check. Would not recommend for dining, but it you can get a seat at the bar and have eye contact with a server, you might have better experience.

Our 4th visit this year and once again we were not disappointed. The food here is amazing. Never had a bad meal. I got the anvil burger this time and it was one of the best burgers I’ve had. The desserts are amazing- probably the best carrot cake I’ve ever had but this time I went with the house made ice cream which was very good. The service is excellent as well. It can get a bit loud near the bar but I’m sure they can seat you in the back dining area if you ask. This is quickly becoming our favorite date night restaurant. Also reasonably priced- 2 cocktails/2happy hour apps/ 2 entrees/2 desserts…right around 100. We like to try new places but somehow we keep coming back here. Try it!!

Delicious food served by an engaging and friendly server. The menu offered a nice variety without too many choices. Great wine list.

I have consistently enjoyed North house. When bringing guests out for dinner North house will always be my choice because the food is delish!!

Never had a bad meal here. Service is always great. It can get a little loud near the bar area but over all this is a great place to get a fantastic meal. Save room for dessert-they are all made in-house (even the ice cream).

We were seated at a lovely booth without much waiting…we were early for our reservation. Our server Kristen was cordial and efficient. Our food from the appetizers to dessert was wonderful. This was our first time at The North House and we will definitely return.

This was our third time dining at the North House and it did not disappoint. The chef, April and her team always provide a consistently outstanding dining experience. We made a special trip to celebrate a birthday dinner which was yet again, truly exceptional. If you are in the area, do not miss the opportunity to dine here, you will be blown away with the quality of food and service. Great service and the food is consistently great!

It was our first time eating here and we will definitely be going back. The hostess gave us a little tour of the inside of the restaurant. We did decide to eat outside. The appetizers were amazing. The Slate was delicious. Our dinners were scrumptious. We saved room for cappuccinos and dessert afterwards and we were not disappointed. The waitstaff was very attentive and at the end of the night the manger came out to say hi and check on us. We cannot wait to go back. It may have become our new favorite spot.

Four diners and four different entrees:
Steak, scallops, short rib of beef & fish and chips. Each of the meals were delicious.
Waitress was exceptional!

Both my husband and I really enjoyed our dinners. I had the short ribs with garlic mashed potatoes and spinach from the regular menu. They were delicious. The portion was so large that I brought some home and had it for lunch the next day. My husband had the halibut which was a special that night. It too was delicious and beautifully presented.

Our servers were the nicest and attentive ladies we have had in a long time. Despite what I read in the news about restaurants being short staffed you would never feel that when dining at The North House. Very prompt and friendly service.

I highly recommend this place for dining.

We dined at North House on 7/24/21. The food was O.K. but nothing special. One entrée arrived just above room temperature, not hot, so it was returned to the kitchen. It came back a bit warmer but still not at the proper serving temperature and this did not appear to be a busy Saturday night.

Service was good and the ambience consistent for a building dating back to 1757.

In my opinion there are better choices to be had in the area.

Went for anniversary dinner, ended up getting seated in the bar area. Extremely noisy. Server only checked in with us twice, once while appetizer was served, and then again about 15 minutes after our meal was finished to ask if we wanted dessert. We made the mistake of ordering dessert but server must have forgot about it as we ended up asking another server in the area to check on it, so we ended up waiting 25 minutes for a carrot cake which took about 5 minutes to eat. Then we had to sit for another 25 minutes after that to get our check as our server again never came back and we once again had to ask another server to see if we could get our check. Took more than an hour from the time we finished our meal until we received our check and the place was not even very busy.

We went with another couple and we were all equally impressed with everything about our experience tonight. The service was excellent, presentation and flavor of our meals was perfect and the Noth House has such great ambiance!

We had the most wonderful dinner at The North House last night! Our friends, my husband and I loved it and agreed that we can’t wait to return. We have been here on other occasions and have enjoyed many different entrees, such as the daily house made gnocchi in Bolognese sauce and pan seared scallops. Our friends raved about the duck (melt in your mouth!), and my husband loved the beef Wellington he had at a holiday party. Last night, three of us got burgers. The beef was juicy, tasty and cooked to perfection. At the waitress’s recommendation, our friend ordered the short ribs (boneless, delicious and tender). We also split strawberry spinach salad and Caesar salads. The split portion size was perfect, and both salads were winners. The guys ordered special beers, and we ladies ordered delicious sangria. We wish we had made room for their house-made dessert! The staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. The atmosphere was lovely, cozy and fun! The restaurant has gorgeous private rooms for occasions, and it has a stunning bar area where you can also dine. We all highly recommend The North House!!

There is one important issue we had that. My husband is blind and I took him in the main entrance but the steps would be treacherous coming down so I explored the handicap entrance. Someone just parked there right smack in the middle and would not move their car over to make room. We had to wait till they finished and left before I could pull in there. They should not allow parking in the handicap pull in.

The food was good but limited on selection. The Forge room is the rustic old looking quiet part of the restaurant. The strong smell of a building fire was overpowering in that room. Not a fireplace smell but stronger. The other part of the building is like a more modern restaurant but was loud and not ideal for a quiet meal. Our server Beth was the best. We would go back because of Beth was so good at taking care of us.

What a great way to get back to dining with friends after a year and a half of takeout! Two of us ordered the duck from the regular dinner menu and two of us had the evening’s special of pork tenderloin. All four of us were delighted. Probably the best duck I’ve ever eaten! I also ordered them. a French onion soup, which was delicious, and we all had salads; the Caesar salad was enough for two of us to split. The service was attentive and friendly, never obtrusive.

Three in our family had dinner, food was fantastic, specially the duck. Waitress was very good. We even saw a black bear walk past our window. Can’t ask for anything more. We will be back.

Salmon and chocolate cherry torte both excellent. Craft cocktail not too sweet with deep, interesting flavor. Friendly and efficient wait staff. We’ll be back.
