   Enjoyed another delicious meal while taking in the beautiful water view. The Sablefish over creamy parsnip orzo was cooked to perfection. Thank you for making my birthday lunch special.

   I went to dinner with my moms and siblings here! To start the atmosphere is lovely it has so much life and is so bright. The waiter we had was amazing he was very sweet and was accommodating for my siblings (they are younger ages 7-14) so i definitely suggest even if u have little ones they have special menus for them! The food was fresh and came out fast but my only thing is that we were right in the middle of the restaurant and had the biggest table so it was a little awkward(this isnt a complaint im just very awkward so it was a little anxiety inducing but if i asked im sure they would’ve accommodated me again this is a personal preference)! Other than that my experience was amazing! This was my third time going to the mooring and i have never left hungry or disappointed!

   We had reservations for two at 7pm. We were greeted by the manager at the door and seated promptly by our server. We were given a great table in the corner of the enclosed patio with a water view. I am presently using crutches and I informed the restaurant of this when making the reservation. I didn't want to weave in and out of tables and did not want to intrude on other people by having to find a place to lean my crutches. The restaurant handled this well by placing us in a corner. I ordered the Sablefish special which was done Asian style. Served with Ramen noodles,bok choy, and Shiitake mushrooms in a light soy based sauce. Portion size was perfect at about 6-7 ounces of fish. Sauce was light and silky with right amount of salt. My partner ordered Whole black seabass. Sides were fingerling potatoes and brocollini. Fish was perfectly grilled and seasoned. Sides were good. Broccolini was a bit firm. Dessert was excellent. Mango sorbet was smooth and creamy and my salted caramel gelato was heaven with chocolate pieces in it. A bit pricey at $30-$40 an entree, but with ambience and great service, we thought worth it. Our Server, K, was outstanding- Pacing the courses just right, and very informative. The restaurant offers several seating areas, each with their own ambience. Enclosed patio seemed to be quietest space. This is where we were seated. So, if you are looking for quiet or energetic, The Mooring offers both, along with terrific seafood. We were completely satisfied and will definitely return.

    My sister and I could not have been more pleased with our experience at the Mooring. From the wonderful welcome and checking in from Raum, as well as the “best” table accommodation, to the fabulous service by Mary we were made to feel like “royalty.”We thoroughly enjoyed our complimentary birthday dinners by a warm fireplace and beautiful view of Newport Harbor. A perfectly delightful afternoon! Thank YOU!
