The Mooring Restaurant
We always have the best meals here. Food is well worth the value.
Great atmosphere and the food is always outstanding!
We were the last reservation of the night. The host made it sound like we were an imposition but our waiter was wonderful and very attentive. We had a shrimp special, lobster role, grilled salmon and a Caesar salad. Everything was great. A highlight was super crispy fries with the maple chipoltle aioli.
Staff is always great and the social distancing is spot on. My friends and I don’t go out too much at this time for obvious reasons but if we do we have been going to the mooring
Great evening And Sunset
Food and service was awesome
I ordered the Spicy Seafood Pasta with Lobster Tail... Absolutely Delicious. Expresso Martini's were great and our waitress and service, outstanding. Will definitely go back for sure.
The Mooring always provides a terrific and beautiful experience. Food and service are always exceptional for us. Try this place!
Great restaurant--I'm a Newport native--always great food, service, and ambience!
I’ve had many great meals and experiences at the Mooring, but the quality of food has become mediocre this past year. We had slow and borderline abandoned service the last time. Combined with the lack luster meal, I am not sure the mooring will stay on my top 5 list in Newport
Quick mid afternoon apps and drinks with friends before heading to castle hill for their s’mores by the fire event that evening. We have all 5 of the appetizers and the sangria and it was all delicious!
Warmly greeted by Jim and then personally escorted to our table. The Mooring is very conscientious regarding Covid and their measures make me feel extremely safe and allow me to enjoy a lovely meal.
We loved the atmosphere at the Mooring and the food was fabulous. The raw bar was delicious and my filet entree was done to perfection and as tender as could be. Can’t wait to go back.
Good place to have lunch in Newport in off season. Food is good but validated parking ticket is only good for one hour. We stayed 1 1/4 hour and the parking charge was 8 dollars.
Its a tourist trap, we went for my daughters birthday for a special event but were disapointed with our waiter Alvaro. Although we were his only table he was nowhere to be found. Noone brought any plates for the appetizer and he spilled a drink on the table but never wiped it up. Yes its expensive but no the food is not better than the numerous other options. My lobster roll was not fresh, tasteless, left disapointed. The waterside has plastic windows blocking any water views.
Awesome food great service recommend the spicy shrimp and scallop pasta
Was absolutely blown away by the array of menu items, the value of the food and how amazing it was, and just how good the mocktails were!!! So fantastic, fantastic birthday dinner. My fiancé and I felt safe, as a gay couple, in the environment and were treated so well by our server Lexi!!! She was memorable and had such a fabulous mask (WONDERFUL that she was wearing it right!) we were also spaced far from others, so so pleased at the set up. Thank you!!! Will be back sometime to have more chicken pecatta!
Great experience! The service was super nice and accommodating. We went for our anniversary and they greeted us with a warm welcome. The food was amazing, we got the bag-of-donuts and spicy linguini. Definitely recommend!!!
Very disappointed . The food was so overly salted - could not eat. Risotto was so over cooked - mushy.
Shame on me for returning
It was my wife’s 50 th birthday and they sat us right In front of the fireplace on a chilly night. The oysters were incredible as was our entrees
Our servers were friendly , engaging and were instrumental in making my wife’s
Birthday a success
The food and service here are always top notch - great staff in the kitchen and on the floor as well as the hosts/hostessses.
Our waitress Jasmine was great, she recommended an appetizer special and it was delicious.
Most menu items can be gluten free. I had GF chicken piccata with mashed and spinach, very good. Table of 4 biggest challenge is waiter does not write anything down when taking the order and made one order mistake where one of us had to wait for the correct meal to be cooked. I recommend the waiters write down the orders it only takes a minute. Other than that the food is excellent, waiter very friendly and helpful, and a great place to have lunch and dinner.
Highly recommend The Mooring for a nice dinner and atmosphere.
Amazing food and ambience. My fiance and I loved the fritters and lobster. Best seafood we had all weekend!
NYE dinner. Filet was perfect.
Everything was amazing! Especially the margaritas and pumpkin chai creme brûlée!!
Only complaint is after spending $180 for 2 people we should not have to pay $8 an hr for parking in their lot!
That was just greedy.
Always a great experience, we go often! Feel safe going there during covid
The Mooring is a favorite of ours in Newport. Good food and service in a nice location by the water.
We have been to the Mooring 5 or 6 times before and decided to make dinner there part of a holiday gift for our adult kids. Always have had great food and service. This time, though most of the food was on par and the raw bar items are good, the spicy seafood linguini was not at all spicy and appeared to not have any sauce on it and a couple of dishes could have been hotter. (It is not usually a good sign when the plates are too hot to touch when they get to the table.) We would have mentioned it to the waitress had she checked on us at all once we had ordered and were brought drinks. All in all, we still enjoyed our visit and will probably go back again sometime, but cannot give it the usual highest marks.
Food was great but the room was a little ch
Very good food, nice atmosphere, romantic getaway with checking out all the nice shops before dining at the Mooring
Food was awesome- great chowder, chopped salad, to die for fish n chips and hubby had a great steak with lobster. Restaurant was quiet because of COVID protocols but it work out great for our small family who appreciated getting stuck in a corner! My 8yo loves chowder so that worked out great but they also have a kids menu. Always a good experience at The Mooring!
I’ve been to the Mooring several times over the years. Now with Covid I don’t get out as much. Today though had reservations ans was pleasantly surprised with the social distance of tables, the bar area set up great too. A beautiful fire going as well.
Had lunch with my sister and we both ordered burgers. They were amazing as well as the waitress
It was my first visit and I enjoyed it very much. The food was delicious and the service was great. I'll definitely be back.
During COVID19 pandemic I have frequented most of newport restaurant groups' restaurants. They have all been outstanding, the Mooring on this occasion didn't reach the same bar. The waitress seemed to have woken up on the wrong side of the bed on Sunday. It did put a damper to the day. Obviously will give it a shot again some time.
Food and atmosphere was great! We visit a lot! Love this restaurant!
Our food was good but the one problem was that my lobster easier cooked and was not edible.
Parking was ridiculously priced !! Had ticket validated ($10) still had to pay $16.00. For 2 hrs. December !
Great restaurant, meal and service.
Service was very good.
Ambiance was not great due to the necessary spacing during this difficult time.
Food was good but a little overpriced.
