Service was timely. Unfortunately, they have gotten rid of the best Caesar salad in the area. My grouper was great. Lobster, salmon and calamari were top notch. Great environment if you can be boat side.

I enjoyed the vibe. That biscuit with the honey is absolutely amazing . We ordered the Bouillabaisse it was okay the seafood was cooked perfectly but it had no taste , no wine or salt just bland . Still can't wait to go back .

Highly enjoyed our only meal out in Newport! It was a great pick and based on the crowd and inability to get an earlier reservation, others did too! Service was great and quick especially considering how full it was. After an appetizer of the fritters, the half seafood tower was perfect for my husband and the lobster roll was great for me. The lemon ricotta cheesecake was a nice end to the dinner. We would def go back if we found ourselves in Newport again!

Called the restaurant two days before to confirm a table by the window for a special 50th birthday surprise, they confirmed yes, but when we arrived we were told we were still outside in the cold with heaters, but gladly switched us inside, but had to put us in a back room booth. (No acknowledgement of the birthday). One person from our group felt sick midway through, and the waitress lovingly took her portion off the bill. The food was terrible. So overpriced. The sides that came with every dish was odd and ruined the taste of the dish imo (I think they were trying to be creative). Leek polenta cake was absolutely disgusting. Filet Mignon was supposed to be medium well and was so raw that it had to be sent back to the grill to cook longer. Everything was so overly salted. I’m not one to write bad reviews, but for the rip off they charge for overpriced bad food needs to be known.

Very good food, loved the outdoor patio seating, had oysters, ceviche, BOUILLABAISSE for two which was very good and a great value and the smoked mackerel on toast - yummy, but just a bit salty. Great service.

The Mooring was a wonderful dining experience. The server was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The food was super fresh and nice size portions. The beautiful setting made it the Perfect place to dine in Newport.

We’ve found over the years traveling to Rhode Island almost almost every month from Florida, that combined with professional servers, beautiful view of the bay and exceptional innovative cuisine, it doesn’t get any better than The Mooring downtown Newport for a fabulous meal every time. This establishment in one of thirteen eateries that belong to the Newport Restaurant Group. There’s also The Boathouse in Tiverton that’s another NRG eatery. We love both restaurants. The Mooring is closer to where we stay when we stop by. Try the Seafood pasta. It’s one of our favorites.

Our meals and experience were absolutely delightful. We needed seafood, vegan, and non shell fish options. Your place covered them all with several options for each. Desserts were great. Mocktaiks were good. Thanks!

Great server, but he was slammed the night we went resulting in slow service. Had the bouillabaisse for two and crab cakes which were awesome. Drinks a little pricey but decent value otherwise. Would go again!

We recently tried The Mooring Restaurant for our Anniversary. Everyone who works there are very friendly and accommodating. From the hostess who greets you to the waitress who was very attentive. Our dinner was amazing! We started out with clam chowder. So delicious! We then had the scallop entrée. The scallops melt in your mouth! We ended with a Limoncello Cake and again were happy with our choice! We highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

We LOVE this restaurant! The food is so delicious and they actually have a gluten free menu that was pretty extensive! The tuna poke app and mussels in coconut green curry broth were so flavorful. Also had the whole baked branzino fish stuffed with herbs and citrus and covered in a chimichurri sauce. Outstanding! It is very difficult to find such exceptional food dining out when you are celiac. Our server Alexandra D was exceptional and helped our party of 6 decide what to order on the menu. Front desk staff were very welcoming. And the view of the marina was the perfect setting for an outstanding meal!

There is an extensive fish and seafood menu. We had such a hard time we joked with the waiter he will have to get us a reservation for the next day. Being the Boat Show weekend they were full. Our waiter Johnny got the reservations. His service was impeccable and all of the employees were friendly and helpful. I ordered the whole roasted fish which black bass. It was marinated and stuffed with sliced citrus. Absolutely delicious. Always a favorite. Did not disappoint and my mouth is watering already for dinner tonight.

Our waiter Johnny made our evening memorable. We went with all of his suggestions, lobster and shrimp fritters, stuffed lobster and a limoncello marscapone cake for dessert. Everything was delicious!

This was our first visit (for lunch) because we could never get a reservation! Can't say enough about the raw bar- the oysters, clams and crudo were some of the best (maybe THE best) we've ever had. And we eat a lot of raw bar. The service, the cocktails, the ambiance was just outstanding! We can't wait to go back.
