Amazing experience. Service was exceptional and food. Will definitely return.
We were made to understand that a 3 course would be £35 and with proseco would be £40. But much to our horror when the bill came we had been charged £40 each for the refill proseco and 35 each for the meal. Very misleading.
We’ve brunched at the Churchill so many times before…& always SO impressed with the buffet brunch with bottomless Champagne.
So we were somewhat disappointed that the Champagne has now been replaced by Prosecco & the buffet does not exist at all ! The menu selection is also somewhat limited, with burgers (albeit very tasty ones) as an option ! What happened to the Sunday lunch options like pork belly or roast beef ? Desserts also used to be so beautifully presented, but again…a reduced menu of options & not a hint of a cheeseboard !
I’m guessing it’s all down to Covid & the need for social distancing, but that doesn’t explain the menu limitations & coming away from Champagne.
Hopefully, in time, the traditional options will return.
Still a nice experience but perhaps we were spoilt ‘pre-Coronavirus’ & things haven’t recovered.
Food was good and generous sized portions. Restaurant was quite empty which meant we were well attended to.
Great Sunday Brunch. The staff were really nice and friendly. Good ambiance with folksy musicians.
Quiet Monday evening, the lady who looked after us introduced us to the history of the place & she knew it well the food & drinks menu.
Good upselling skills as she offered starter drinks and desserts.
Jose gave a touch to the table and said hello, which is much appreciated in hospitality service.
Tasty & well presented food!
All in all lovely experience, great wine and we were well looked after.
Thank you team!
Beef carpaccio and lobster tasted amazing. Very Nice food, excellent service, cosy restaurant. We enjoyed our meal. Would like to come back.
Wow, what an experience! I visited with my dad and my maid of honour after some wedding shopping and we were absolutely blown away by the service. Every single member of staff we spoke to was so attentive, mindful of my dietary requirements and it felt like they couldn’t do enough for us.
We each went simple with vegan and vegetarian burgers and a number of sides and the flavour was top notch - great getting to watch the chefs in the kitchen too! Lovely ambience, great location, fabulous staff and delicious food. Couldn’t fault it!
Nice place but expensive for quality of food
Very fancy and very welcoming, with the best dishes and wine.🥰
Such an amazing night -great service and food. Hoping a table opens up for me to return! Undercover made all the difference
We were repeatedly told we only had the table for 2 hours and were ushered out of our seats early when we still had wine left. Extremely disappointed with the poor service
Dear guest , We are grateful for visiting us and we are sorry to see that we shortfall on your experience this very time. The demand for an outdoor experience in London is massive in now days , and the only thing we try to do is to be able to provide this to as many regular ,and not only, guests as possible. I do apologize for making you feel ushered as it was definitely not our intention. I will be happy to host you again soon. Best Regards Marta B The Pop Up Terrace Manager
The whole experience was outstanding. Staff was awesome. Jose and Martha were very friendly and helpful! The terrace was decorated in a really lovely way,it felt like we were on the beach. The food was amazing. We had the lobster and the octopus and Eton Mess as a desert. I loved that all the ingredients were all sourced locally. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be coming back!
Dear KT20, WoW , what an amazing rating and even more fabulous comments. Not sure if we can thank you enough for this. Even though you loved everything as per your comments , we have to add even greater news for you . Since your last visit with us , we have developed all our menu offerings on the Pop Up terrace and as well the terrace look & feel overall , so we can provide a better experience possible. Look forward to welcome you back Marta & Jose
The restaurant takes the form of a pop-up terrace. The seafood menu is somewhat limited, but we knew this in advance as we'd looked online. The lobster was great. Friendly service - we'd definitely go back.
Dear Victorv, Thank you for your amazing rating and your wonderful comments. Allow me to share with you that since your last visit we have developed our menu offerings and as well our terrace overall. It is feedback like yours that make us want to always aim high. I hope to host you soon again. Best Regards Marta B. The Montagu Kitchen Manager
Excellent pop up, superb seafood & friendly, professional service. Much appreciated.
Dear food4life, Thank you so much for taking the time to rate us and even more for sharing with us you very kind comments. I look forward to welcome you soon again with us and we will try our best to make the 4* rating a 5* one. Best Regards Marta B. The Montagu Kitchen Manager
Great concept and it's helpful having heaters but the menu is a let-down. I appreciate there are limitations with a 'pop-up' but the variety on offer could be vastly improved by having more salad options (and less starchy carbs!) If you are just having drinks then I would recommend the MK and/or you are not wheat intolerant!
Dear Jabel, Thank you for taking the time to rate us and even more for visiting us . Our terrace is based on a pop up concept and sometimes as much as we want to provide all possible offerings it is hard to achieve that . I am very happy to inform you that since your latest visit we have improved overall our terrace and definitely our menu offerings too. One more visit will showcase that and I do hope to see you soon again. In the meantime Stay Safe . Marta B. The Montagu Kitchen Manager
Small cozy terrace near The Churchill. Fantastic service and good food. Will come back for sure.

Would have liked more than 1 vegetarian option but appreciate they’re working a reduced menu at the moment

I look forward to welcome you again. Best Regards & Stay Safe Marta B. The Montagu Kitchen Manager
Terrible place, not what it looks like on the website. So over priced. The food portions are tiny. Don’t waste your time or money.
Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to rate us. I am terribly sorry that we did not meet your expectations on your latest visit . We do look forward to welcome you soon again with us as I am happy to say that we keep developing our offerings and the pop up terrace day by day will becoming even better. Best Regards & Stay Safe The Montagu Terrace Team
Staff lovely but reality is that you’re sat in the car park at the front of the hotel with some dodgy wooden fence around to separate you. I thought it was going to be a terrace - as per the name - and a luxury experience. It was not.
Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to rate us based on your current visit. I am sorry for not being able to meet your expectations at this very time. Our terrace is based on a Pop up concept and hence we have utilize a guest area on the main forecourt at the facade of the hotel. We keep improving our facilities and services on daily basis in order to provide a better experience onto our guest. I do apologize once more and hoping to host you soon again. Marta B. Montagu Terrace Manager
Very disappointed with my visit. The terrace is situated in the driveway of the hotel, I realise they're just trying to function during restrictions but I would certainly not have booked if I had know you were seater on the driveway! The food was mediocre. I would not return.
Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to rate us based on your recent visit. I am so sorry we did not manage to meet your expectations. it was lovely just the limited menu was a downer
Dear MariaS, Great to see your 5* rating and rest assure that your comments about our menu are well taken under consideration . We will be developing our offerings further in due time. Hope we will see you soon again with us . Marta B. The Montagu Kitchen Manager
The location did not match the expectation that has been implied from the description. Expected internal hotel courtyard or garden. It is not a secluded terrace, but nevertheless a lovely little pop-up in front of the hotel entrance. Regretfully, as it's the corner of George Street and Portman Square, the noise level is so high as to not be an enjoyable outdoor experience. Could barely hear fellow guests over the traffic noise. It's been decorated in a lovely way, nice heaters and blankets to stave off the very cold April temperature. Staff impeccable and service of the highest level. Did not try the food. Would not visit again unless it was in quieter location. Other local options with outside seating may offer better value for money for after work drinks - upmarket drinks and food. This review relates to pop up outside area only (that is open to bookings from 12th April 2021 in UK and under COVID restrictions) and not to the hotel's restaurant other locations within the building.
Wasn’t what we expected. It is a small fenced off area of the car park. Only selling a small seafood menu not the menu advertised online. Food was ok but very overpriced. Service was good. Very loud as on the main road.
Dear Rabster321, Thank you so much for taking the time to rate us and providing us with your valuable feedback. Our terrace is based on a ''pop up'' concept and we try our best to provide the best possible environment into our guests. I do hope this one time will not be a factor for you of not visiting us again as we always seek better ways to develop ourselves and offerings. Best Regards Marta B. The Montagu Kitchen Manager
Lovely meal and drinks with work friends. Very attentive staff
I dined at the Montagu Winter Terrace
Nice cosy setting for a bite and drinks - the setting was very festive.
Went to the Pop up ski bar was nicely done and good fun
Review for the Winter Terrace: Much smaller than what appears in photo and very bad location. It is tucked on the pavement next to the hotel main entrance, with cars noise and exhaust all over. Do not go if you are looking for an outdoor refreshing and pleasant experience with sky views!!
The furniture, light and accessories are very nice and would work in another location.
Staff very polite and professional.
Drinks were ok, Food was not good at all.
Absolutely great brunch and superb value for money.
Great service with a soft ambience. We had a grey, rainy day and it was easy to imagine how the restaurant would look great with some sunlight through the windows.
Have been here twice before with bookatable and really enjoyed it. Definitely not as good a choice with the set menu tonight and not as good a bargain. We did not like our starters of beetroot tart and beetroot salad. The fish was nice but the pork belly had too many unpleasant bits on the plate. Not a disaster and the staff, wine and service were good but won’t be coming back.
Fantastic staff especially Ela who was so bubbly and attentive throughout our brunch.
Having dined at Montague Kitchen numerous times, this was the most disappointing experience to date. The service was slow and lack lustre and, apart from the fabulous starters, the food disappointing. I ordered the pork belly and ended up with a plate of fat - very little pork in sight and the dish was served with a sparse amount of vegetables and no potatoes of any type. Others in the party had beef which, although advised would be served medium rare, it was in fact served ‘bleu’ and had to be returned. The desserts were uninspiring. Bring back the old Sunday lunch format which worked so much better. We won’t be returning any time soon.
Dad not to have Xmas music playing.
I asked for a gluten free tea; I was sent two non gluten free scones? When I queried it, waiter didn’t not take the initiative and replace them, just left me to it.
Second glass of champagne for £14 is steep. No offering of extra tea or food (tea only when we asked for the bill??). Cake on offer on cake stand was larger and more inviting than cakes offered.
The restaurant looks great. Our waitor was excellent and provided great service. The food was ok but did not justify the price. I ordered steak which was quite underwhelming.
This has been my favorite restaurant in London for many years. However, this time I did not think the food was as good as it used to be (2017 and earlier), just "average". Hopefully, food will be excellent next time, since the restaurant has a nice ambiance.
