Third time back and it never ceases to amaze. We got the three course meal and enjoyed the very refreshing play of flavors, from the mouse bouche all the way to the well crafted and original desserts.
Incredible food and service!!
Outstanding wine list
The price on the tasting can be daunting, but the amount of food you receive at such amazing quality is worth every penny.
I didn’t realize The Modern was a 7-course dining experience and booked a reservation for 6:15 before an 8pm show at City Center. After a moment of shock when I revealed this error to our waiter, the team quickly adjusted and provided a beautiful 3-course meal for us that still felt decadent and relaxing while getting us out by 7:45 for our show. Incredibly professional and accommodating, and the food was spectacular.
A treat for the senses. While the ingredients and flavors didn't tend to the obscure they both showed off the fully unlocked potential of each. Every course took over from the last as the best things I have eaten all year. I can't wait to return so I get to try the remainder of the menu.
We had an Extraordinary food cuisine experience. Each plate served was very unique and had a spectacular taste.
Expect to be there for 2.5 hours to get through the tasting menu, and expect an expensive bill but expect to have an incredible and unforgettable experience. Artfully plated dishes with amazing and complex flavor profiles make The Modern well worth the trip!
Really great food. Definitely worth the 2 stars! Creative and fun and a great wine list to boot.
Dinning at The Modern is an amazing experience.
Exquisite food, excellent service and pleasant environment. Well worth the money and their Michelin stars!
Great food, unique space and fun experience. Recommend it for a special occasion.
We loved it
My husband got sick after we left the restaurant. All night long.
Everything was perfect the minute you walk in the door. Food is outstanding unlike anything you've ever tasted. Delicious cocktails to start & then on to 7 courses of indescribable goodness. Have been to most Danny Meyer restaurants & The Modern is right up there with the best restaurants in NYC.
Amazing food and a truly great experience! We told them that my friend has only 1,5 hours at a maximum and they ensured that we had all three courses in 1 hour and 15 minutes!
The Modern is a unique and fabulous dining experience. The restaurant is gracious, with tables well spaced. The food is inventive and delicious and we very much enjoyed the wine pairings. I'm saving my money for the next splurge at the Modern!
Although very pricey, one cannot beat the tastes, the service, the ambiance, the sculpture garden and so much more. We come to the Modern every time we are in the city and have never been disappointed. Prices in Manhattan can add up quickly. I would rather pay the price at the Modern knowing that the meal will be impeccable, than pay almost as much somewhere else and possibly be disappointed.
you can enjoy beautiful foods and atmosphere,
Minor slips in the service. But very pleasant and attentive.
I am a tough grader.
The Modern is one of the best restaurants in NYC. Impeccable service, creative food, and beautiful ambiance. Whenever we come to NYC, this is a restaurant that we always revisit. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
This is a wonderful place to go for lunch or dinner. The ambiance is nice and the seating is spacious. I’ve been to The Modern for dinner, which was also a great experience, but this was my first time there for lunch and it was just as pleasant of an experience. I took my sister there to celebrate her birthday, so we chose the 6 course lunch. We explained that we didn’t eat meat, so they provided us with a pescatarian version of the six course lunch. Everything was so beautiful and so delicious. (They don’t over salt their food either, which a lot of restaurants unfortunately do.) The service was top notch as well. The staff was friendly and accommodating of special requests and don’t act all arrogant like in some of the other high end restaurants in NYC. I highly recommend this place. It’s become my favorite NYC restaurant. Skip Le Bernardin, skip Gabriel Kreuther, and skip Del Posto. Come here instead. It is well worth the money.
As always, one of the best dinner experiences possible
Service was awesome the food was delicious but the portion were on the small side.
A great restaurant ruined. Why would you only offer a tasting menu. Absurd. Went from my top 5 to never again!
One of the best meals of our lives. Everything was simply top-notch.
Perfect food! Very good service! But you will pay for this high quality!
Excellent from beginning to end! Great wait staff.
Food amazing. Memorable.
For NYC...this is average food at best
Not one dish wowed me except for the bread
Completely overpriced place and would never go back
Took nearly 3 hours to get through dinner as well
If you're looking to have an "experience " this is definitely not the place
Excellent food, beautifully presented. Excellent service
Extraordinary and wonderful
The food was artful and perfectly paired at every course. I have never experienced such a fabulous time at dinner!
Great view!Great food!
Amazing experience! The food was great. We came here for a birthday celebration and were treated very well (they even printed out custom menus to commemorate our celebration, which was a nice touch). This is a great fine dining experience - even among other Michelin star restaurants. Highly recommended! And you won't leave hungry ;)
A great meal with excellent service!!
Food was good and fresh., Most dishes burst in your mouth with fine flavors. Honestly the lobster dish was great but the lobster was subpar and could have been better. Overall we loved it and glade we came to this fine establishment. We would 100 percent recommend this place to anyone who lives fine food.
It's a wonderful experience and I loved sitting by the window looking out onto the sculpture garden. Food was lovely, dessert was a little avant garde for my taste but rest was amazing!
