Renowned for speciality cuts, signature dishes, and fresh seafood, The Mitre welcomed back original Head Chef Pat Lynch following an extensive refurb and reopening in October 2023. His food is exceptional, honest and British, with the global influences Pat has gathered throughout his career littered throughout his menu.

One of the headline dishes is the Mitre original braised rabbit pappardelle, but not to be missed are Pat’s specially selected cuts of Scottish beef - from none other than renowned butcher John Gilmour - which he expertly grills on his Japanese-style Robata.

The brand-new menus will be devised of a sensational food selection including unmissable Sunday Roasts and contemporary seafood dishes. The food in the restaurant will be timeless, whilst the brand-new bar is the perfect spot for an exceptional pint and a light bite to eat.

This was ihr First Time in London, Far away from Home, Germany. We got. an advise from a friend and it was worth it. The red Beet Hummus with Flat Break was amazing. The waitress was nice and friendly ! We loved it ! Absolutely rexommended

We are regular diners and The Mitre is our local. We are quite disappointed with our lunch for the following reasons: 1) the service was slow because there was only one server working 2) the server needs to be more careful when serving drinks - the teapot was leaking hot water (onto the table) when being poured - there was a genuine risk of the water spilling on to one of our laps 3) one of the teapots had an old piece of mint inside - they really do need to pay more attention to cleanliness 4) we informed the server of our daughter's allergies and were directed to an online allergen menu (using the QR code). However, all the menu options were not available - we had to modify an existing dish from the menu (feels like a waste of time going to the online menu) 5) despite an empty dining area, we still had to wait nearly 20 minutes for our food - the manager pointed out that we should expect to wait 20-25 minutes for food 6) we were informed that the food was made from scratch but that is questionable. The club sandwich was well received but the fish and chips was questionable - the curry sauce was watery, the batter was soft and the chips tasted like they came from a foodservice company. Overall, we will not be coming back for food - only for drinks.

Dear Stephen Thanks for your review. I apologise there was aspects of the meal you didn’t enjoy. I will confirm again all our meals are freshly cooked as I let you know. Our target is 20-25 minutes to deliver your food, I apologise if this is not what you are used too, but I did try to explain this when you tried to confront our chefs in our kitchen. The only way we could deliver more quickly would be to pre cook or use pre made food. I also apologise for any concerns with our food, if you had let any of the team know we would of resolved this in the moment, but none of my team was made aware, even after we did a check back where you told us your meal was good. Always great service. main course is always superb too, but the starters and desserts can be extraordinarily tasty and interesting. That goes for the cocktails too, very well made indeed. It T takes the event to a whole new level

We booked lunch for four of us to celebrate a birthday. Upon arrival five milites before our boooing time we weren’t welcomed but instead asked to step outside as they weren’t ready. It wasn’t until two other groups had gone in and been seated that we were called in. Really poor customer experience. I had a salad that as a main was really small and underwhelming. The fish and chips my family had were nice. Such lack of warmth from the staff (no mention of the birthday despite the booking system asking whether it was a special occasion) warranted us getting the bill and leaving right after food with no dessert or coffees. We will not be coming again.

Really good venison pie, sticky toffee pudding was outstanding, the service was great. Great wine - Pinot Grigio btg. Not expensive. Lovely be back soon, and will keep returning no doubt.

We have lunch here most Sundays - it’s usually wonderful. There was a different chef today and the Sunday lunch was really really poor - hopefully the old chef is back next week !!!

Overall another excellent lunch by Mitre. I had the Sunday rost and the potatoes were over cooked and hard but apart from that everything else was amazing

We ordered the chickpeas salad and there were exactly 7 chickpeas on it. The menu has changed since last time and not for better in my opinion
