The Mill on the River
If you're with a group at The Mill on the River, it should be a dining prerequisite for you to order the Atlantic Ocean Rocks Tower. Beautiful outdoor dining.
Have never had a bad meal at Mill on the River. It is my go to restaurant with family and friends. Device is always great.
seating was on time for our reservation. Lovely table and superb waitress - Heather. Escargots so tasty. Scallops and Stuffed Baked Shrimp were delicious served with rice pilaf and coleslaw. Because it was our wedding anniversary, two Chocolate Covered Strawberries were brought out. Surprise! We sat indoors, but outdoor tables were available and beautifully arranged along the water.
Great place for a special occasion. Very diverse menu.
Our waitress was phenomenal! I apologize that I forgot her name… Jessie maybe? She was attentive, but not over bearing and super friendly!
Food was delicious & fresh! Love the ambiance! We can’t wait to come back again!
Expected dinner got brunch.
Zack was awesome! He took care of everything perfectly! He was so easy going and fun! We ate outside and the scenery was gorgeous! The food arrived quickly and was excellent, the pastries were tasty, all in all it was an absolutely magnificent brunch!
Lovely setting by the water. Wait staff very attentive. Enjoyed our meal at Mill on the River...
Good food, good atmosphere, great service the place is great
We were celebrating my husband’s birthday. He is hearing impaired and the Mill provided a quiet table to the right of the fireplace which was perfect! The food and drink are always good. Our server was fine but one recommendation I have...I finished each course before my husband and my dishes were quickly removed. I think all dishes should be left on the table until all of the table occupants have completed their meals. Taking away dishes gives the impression of hurrying the slow eaters!!!
We have dined here often and will return soon!
Front desk girls very professional! Our server Heather was great!! Excellent service with a beautiful smile. Coconut shrimp delicious, Cesar salad fresh, we had prime rib mouth watering could cut with a fork great flavor. Also rigatoni’s with sausage chicken fresh broccoli rabe and a wonderful white cream sauce. Great wine selection.
We have been going here for the past seven years for our wedding anniversary and they never fail to bring out complimentary chocolate covered strawberries with champagne at the end of our dinner. Awesome place. Highly recommend. They pay attention to details.
A rare combination of superb service, atmosphere, and quality meals. We highly recommend this restaurant
Food was solid. Service was great and the ambiance was definitely worth the price. Definitely would go back again and stick to drinks and appetizers.
The set price luncheon was a very good value with a nice selection of food options. The service was excellent and the ambiance was outstanding – so picturesque.
No dessert was offered. Food was good but not big menu for brunch
Went for the Sunday brunch. It’s a very nice place but was hampered by bad weather. Could not sit outside. I found it a little pricey for what they offered. My wife ordered the burger and said it was pretty good. A friend of ours had the omelette and said it should have been hotter. I ordered the filet mignon eggs Benedict and it came with the meat over cooked and the eggs not cooked. Sent it back and they replaced it. Meal came with muffins and drinks. Service was very good. But don’t think we will return.
This has been our favorite restaurant for years. However yesterdays Sunday brunch was disappointing. Missed the buffet part due to covid. The english muffins in the eggs Benedict were burnt and tough. The Belgian Waffle was dry and tough. Certainly not what we have experienced in the past.
We sat outside and which was beautiful! Drinks were well balanced and the salad was very fresh. Meat was perfectly cooked.. They started the meal off with the heater and half way through they turned them off and refused to turn them back on. They put a 2hr limit on the table and we felt like that was their way of insuring we left. But still worth every penny for the food
Drove 1.5 hours each way to meet our friends for a birthday dinner. On our way home we discussed making this trip again real soon. Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. Great cocktails. From the moment we walked in we knew that this was a service oriented establishment and they delivered an amazing night out. It’s worth the money. We had ribeye and fillet and they know how to prepare a rare steak.
Staff very friendly and was greeted warmly. Waitress quite attentive and very knowledgeable about menu. Food delicious but somewhat over-priced--$5.00 for a slice of tomato and a small piece of cheese. Drinks also somewhat over-priced.
3course lunch w friends
First time here. Can’t wait to go back. Sat inside near the bar which was nice. Would love to sit outside by the river.
Great food, great atmosphere, great service.
A return visit and as pleased as I was at my first visit to the Mill On Th River. I'll be back!
The food is always very good and I love the atmosphere. It is always a wonderful evening when we go to The Mill on the River.
Always a good choice. We were happy to be able to get back there .
Waitress was wonderful. Professional. Attentive. Courteous. Food was great. We were there for brunch. The mill is always so beautiful.
Great brunch, good, service and gorgeous surroundings
Food is always well done, great space and very cool next to a mill waterfall. The bridge to get in is pretty fun too. They were very busy, and the only thing available was indoors, which was disappointing, but with so many people there, they were doing the best they could.
We ended up waiting 10 minutes for our table, but compared to people who were walking it, I recommend a reservation, which this site made a lot easier to set up.
The wine, cocktails and food was amazing! We had been here before, but every time we eat here, the food is always amazing. Highly recommend if you can afford the higher price point for the food.
Ansolutey stunning setting and great service! Food and drinks were sooo good and very reasonably priced!
Be aware, if you don’t like the food that is served to you, you still have to pay for it. This company doesn’t like constructive criticism when it can help their establishment.
Overall a very nice place and very good food. Nice for a celebration or special occasion. One funny note: we had brunch at another MRG restaurant the next day. Much less expensive and they served wonderful fresh warm bread.
This restaurant owned by the same people is much pricier and charges $.50 extra for a roll!
Will go back when we are in the area.
Very nice restaurant, but prices were kind of high. What really got us was that 1 extra roll with butter cost 50 cents…. We’ve never seen that before.
Food was excellent and atmosphere/view was wonderful. Service (personality) was definitely lacking but it was such a beautiful evening, we didn't let it put a damper on things.
Bar service was slow and portion sizes were a little bit less than normal. Our server was wonderful and the food was still very delicious. Outdoor seating is top notch.
Great food and service. Nice wine list. Beautiful spot.
First time there but we’ll surely go there more often.
Slow bar service which cut into our two hour limit and delayed our ordering. Understand the two hour limit in the new norm, but service needs to be quick given the restriction. Waitress was personable and responsive to our requests as all staff members were. Everyone enjoyed their food selections and drinks were good. Will come again.
Undoubtedly my (and my husband’s) favorite. Always a 10!
Generous portions, delicious chicken piccata served hot, crispy fresh salad. Absolutely gorgeous location, excellent service. Worth the drive from Avon. Will be back.
