Wonderful, always is!
Do you know how they say one’s server can make or break your dining experience? Well, we did not let that happen though I can only imagine what The Melting Pot would have been like with a great server. As it was a deceptively large restaurant, with cute and comfy booths tucked in. A+ for being romantic, which was great since this was our anniversary (as we noted when reserving our table).
We’d never been to Melting Pot. Our server seemed to expect us to know what to do, and I reminded her it was our first time and we’d really appreciate an overview. Looking back, it was the least helpful overview she could have given. We figured it out as we went along. It was like she either was having a terrible day or she disliked us on sight.
Anyway, the concept — while new to us — turned out to be great fun. I wish we’d not have loaded up on the appetizers early on, but they were delicious! The cheese fondue was *chef’s kiss*! The Caesar salad was perfect.
Back to the server, she was nearly monotone and we had to have her repeat what she said. No attempt was made by Erin to make our night special by even adding the slightest comments or thoughts. Her affect was so flat that I’m writing about it here instead of simply ignoring it.
The food was soooo much, in a good way! We got the Big Night Out ($98.99 for two) plus the lobster tail for an additional $13. We got some veggies, shrimp, teriyaki chicken and beef, filet mignon, salmon and dumplings. My husband kept telling me to keep eating because we didn’t dare ask Erin the situation with take outs.
We finally waved the red flag and asked what we would do about the included dessert. That’s when we learned we could have taken out the rest of our entree. 🙄.
Overall, I give the restaurant 5 stars PLUS!! Very fun, very romantic, yet — paradoxically— family friendly. The price is actually pretty reasonable when you do the math.
I highly recommend this place. Just hope you get a good server!
As always, the Melting Pot dining experience is unique. We went to celebrate my husbands birthday and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The team dynamic of the staff is top notch. They seem to work together to make a great dining experience for everyone.
My wife’s birthday. The one plus is that the service was excellent. The restaurant was very dimly lit, which is somewhat romantic, but hard to see. The table was small, and the text on the menu was so small that we couldn’t read it in the dark room. Much to our surprise we had to cook our own food. My wife can’t eat most meats so we wanted a vegetarian option, but the one they had is not the greatest. We won’t go back, but this type of experience may be for someone else.
The Melting Pot is pricey for the amount of food provided. Expect the bill to be in the $50 range per person before tip. Our waiter was really good and attentive.
We had a nice dinner. Service was very good food was good.
Took the kids for a fun chocolate fondue dessert. Took a long time to be waited on even though we had reservation and were seated immediately. Waiter was inattentive (maybe because we were only doing dessert). Made a strawberry lemonade and was very bitter and really lacked lemonade. Tried to fix it but was not drinkable. Dessert was of course yummy, but not our best experience at this usually consist restaurant.
Wonderful atmosphere great service and delicious freshly prepared food we definitely be back
Our waiter, Norman I believe, was told he was newer. Best service I’ve ever experienced and encountered. Very friendly understanding and over great attitude. He made our night much more special with his pure and energetic yet contained personality
Went for my wedding anniversary. Was delicious as always!!
This was our first time coming here and we celebrated our anniversary. The food was incredible & our server was great. The overall experience was amazing and we will definitely be back!
Great experience and food!! I always enjoy dining at the
Melting Pot. The service was amazing. Everyone is so kind. We had one piece of steak that was mostly fat meat. But other then that we loved it.
Wonderful food. Keep in mind you get entertainment and a unique dining experience. Cooking your own food is a plus, not a chore. You decide how rare, so definitely customizable.
First visit was in Oct, 2nd in Nov. and this past experience after Thanksgiving. At this rate I will be seeing you weekly, I suppose (AND I live over 2 hours away)!!!
Do yourself a favor and book here, best dinner and a "show". We have already forgotten about crab legs!!!
We had my birthday dinner there. Our waitress was great and so friendly. The food quality as always was delicious. Also each table feels secluded which makes it nice for a day as well.
Great place!! dessert was the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing experience! Our first time at the melting pot and we did the 4 course experience. We were stuffed after the 3rd but kept us eating because it was just too delicious. Our waited Justin made it a perfect night out!
Birthday. Erin is awesome
Excellent service. Food and beverage both good and our server, Chantz, was awesome. Highly recommended!
For a first time experience it definitely amazed me. Will be back for sure!
I've been waiting to visit for years and finally I made tonight my first. It was just as good as I hoped it would be. The cheese was so much fun and the chocolate was amazing. We all enjoyed cooking our entrees and I kept track of our timers. I will say that the timers are a bit on the conservative side and will cook everything well. My suggestion is to cut time in half for beef. Overall the service was perfect! Let's not forget their signature mule - one of the best I’ve ever had!
We went for my daughter 11th birthday. Staff very friendly and food was good. They had a little card for her wishing her a HBD
The experience was
Came for my birthday. Absolutely LOVE this place! Perfect every time!
Great experience as always. Jacob was an excellent server. Busier than times we’ve been in the past but the semi-private booths keep the noise level down.
It was a fantastic night. Really great food.
Service was exceptional. Food was fantastic. Great dining experience for my family.
Was a little disappointed, when I made the reservation I specified that my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. The server even acknowledged that we were celebrating the anniversary however while we were dining there were three other couples that were celebrating anniversaries as well and each one of them received roses in a vase as well as rose pedals spread on their table. We received none of that.
Food was great, staff was very kind, helpful and professional. Was a little dark but I guess its to set the romantic mood.
Celebrated our 25th anniversary here. While the small cozy tables are romantic, they are a bit small for all the items, plates and utensils. We had the Four Course Dinner for Two - Brie and Bacon Cheese Fondue, which was fabulous, House and California Salads, Land and Sea and Classic Entrees with the Bourguignonne cooking method, and the Creme Brulee dessert. Everything was delicious. The cooking method was different that what we had tried before, featuring a tempura batter. It was good but quite messy, and more filling. We weren't able to finish our entree. But they let us cook the rest of the meat and take it home to the kids. The Caramel Apple Martini was also very good.
Always great. We love it.
We love the melting pot. Seems like the prices or the portions have changed. We bought a 4 person fondue and it was $40 and didn’t seem like very much. Same with the chocolate dessert. Plenty of dip ins - just not enough chocolate for them. Other than that, food was amazing - the cheddar cheese w beer fondue is so good. We got the basic milk chocolate dessert.
My wife and I decided to travel to Myrtle Beach for our honeymoon. While there we had dinner at The Melting Pot. First time for either us. At first the ordering process was a little confusing. However our waiter Randy was very friendly, informative and helpful through the process. Absolute professional even with it being only his third day as a waiter. Everything was perfect. Had called ahead to have a single long stem rose placed on the table along with rose petals for my wife. My wife had made mention of wanting to try eating there one day. So this reservation was a surprise to her. Along with the rose I mentioned above. Overall this dinner, atmosphere, staff couldnt have done anything better. Yes slightly on the high side as far as price, however you get what you pay for. Every penny was worth it. Thank you to The Melting Pot of Myrtle Beach and special thanks to Randy our waiter.
Lovely intimate setting. Knowledgeable waitstaff. Beautifully prepared ingredients & relaxing ambiance
Date night while on vacation. Very nice dinner!
Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. A must experience place for any occasion.
They did a great job. Tables were spaced and servers and staff all wore gloves and masks.
Amazing experience from start to finish. We were basically treated like royalty from the moment we walked in. I highly recommend this place for a romantic special date night!
