The Melting Pot - Minneapolis
Bring your big appetite to the big city. In downtown Minneapolis, The Melting Pot is your quintessential fine-dining restaurant. Start with freshly made salads and handcrafted dressings before you skewer succulent strips of steak, and finish the smorgasbord with our famous chocolate fondue. Desserts rank high here, and just like the complex taste of our entrées, there’s something to be said of our artisanal cheeses and luscious chocolates. But in our cozy corner of dessert paradise, we’re more than just a classy addition to Minnesota’s culinary scene. We are casual and approachable, which makes us an excellent choice for reconnecting with long-lost friends, updating loved ones about your life, or simply breaking the ice on a romantic date.

Great as always
Very fun experience
There is something fun about fondue! My husband and myself celebrated two years together by going to this restaurant. We’ve been to one prior to this in California. Just like the California Melting Pot, it was a wonderful experience. We got seated in a booth with a privacy curtain. It was very intimate and comfortable. There were lots of options for food. Everything we ordered was delicious and tasty. A little pricey but worth it!
We love the Melting Pot and go every time we visit the cities, it was very good this time as well, however we did have to wait when we had a reservation so that is the only thing I did not like.
This was our first time at a Melting Pot restaurant. The first impression is the interior is drab and boring. The concept is fun, especially for a family. The service was excellent. Our server was attentive, helpful, very nice and just overall really good at her job. That’s always a plus to have an excellent server. The food was really good too. We enjoyed the cheese fondue, the salads, the main courses and the desert fondue. We had Cajun chicken, different varieties of filet and some ravioli. All of it was tasty. The only downside to this place is we thought it was quite expensive all things considered. Party of four with two adults and two teenagers with only one glass of wine and three sodas between us and the bill was $240. We eat out lots as a family and so we are very familiar with the costs of going out to dinner. We loved the whole experience but we are unlikely to return as the costs outweigh the enjoyment.
Lasted 2 hours and a half there and food was mediocre and not worth the money at all. Spent 90 dollars and left starving!
Always amazing service and food! We will definitely be back very soon!
Food was good as always. Service however was inconsistent.
Took my mom out for her half birthday is was her first time there along with my brother. Server went above and beyond, wonderful experience!
The server was very friendly and accommodating, food was good, overall a nice experience
Great time! Wish we had something spicier and more fruits for dessert.
The food was great (we missed the broccoli tho— zucchini was in it’s place), our server did a good job and we had a great time!
Great meal. We did feel server tried to rush us a bit.
Our family had so much fun during our experience! The food was plentiful and delicious!
Food was very good and plenty of it. Our waiter was excellent and made the visit more enjoyable. It is a little spendy but worth the trip.
Waited a very long time for someone to take our order and had to ask several servers if we could place a drink order.
Great food, service, and dining experience.
Very nice servers. Great service.
This place was even more amazing than I imagined for a Valentines Day Celebration!
Food, ambiance, and service were outstanding. The food for the price was a bit much. Surprisingly a bit much.
Very great food and a one of a kind experience
Early Valentine’s Day dinner
My young kids really wanted to try fondue (thanks YouTube) and have been asking for a while...so we finally picked a date and made it happen. It was everything and more than they thought it was. Our server was very helpful and it was the easiest dinner, even though it was 2 hours, with my kids in a line time. Very fun!
Didn't like where we sat, which was right by the front door in the waiting area. Cheese and dessert rounds were delicious. Steak pieces that come with entree round are hit/miss.
It was really great except I would recommend for four people request a booth with two pots
Great night with outstanding food and service!
Service was excellent! Food was great.
Pre show meal
As this was our first experience at The Melting Pot and we had friends who had been before and had a great experience, we had high hopes of the same great experience. Unfortunately that was not the case for us and not only will we not be back, but we will not recommend it to others. For how very, very expensive it is, we expected more and was not worth the value. If anyone ever asks if they should go, I will tell them no and to spend their money somewhere else.
Teen daughter birthday
So delicious every time!
Always a good experience. We had an awesome waiter. He brought extra veggies and desserts and was very attentive. Melting Pot is not a inexpensive option, but always a good fun meal. It was the first time we brought the kids and they had a lot of fun.
This was our first time at The Melting Pot. We were not sure what to expect. Our server did an excellent job explaining how every thing works and some of his favorite things.
We did the 4 course meal.
Our cheese fondue with bread, apples and veggies was had good flavor and was a good mix. Our salads came out next, my ceaser and my wife's blue cheese and Bacon salad were both delicious.
3rd came the main course. I had the classic, it consisted of parm chicken, shrimp, rubbed pork, sirloin or Filet. My wife created her own main course with duck, Filet mignon and Ravioli. We chose a seasoned vegetable broth to cook it all in. It all turned out great. I would be interested in trying some of the other cooking methods they have as well.
The last was the Dark & Dolce dessert fondue. Probably our favorite part but we also have a sweet tooth.
Over all loved it. A side note if you have never been there, make sure you set aside plenty of time to be there. It takes 2 hours or maybe more depending on your group.
Great experience. Great way to spend a relaxing evening.
Food was good, server was not very attentive. Waited 45 minutes and reminded him multiple times for a lemonade. Had drinks and other drinks well before lemonade...
Excellent experience at the melting pot. Delicious food, great service and a view of downtown while dining. You can’t ask for more! Can’t wait to go back for our next visit!
Very disappointed in the service here. We made a reservation, wanted to do a chocolate/ cheese fondue and then they tried to stick us in a freezing cold window section of the restaurant claiming their tables were for reservations. We had a reservation??? We were finally moved to a main area but only after complaining. The frustrating part is the place was dead - there were at least 5-6 empty tables the entire time we were there. Why not try to give us a nice experience so we would come back? And when we mentioned we were newbies we got little guidance on what to choose, how the restaurant works etc. thank goodness the chocolate was delicious or this would have been a waste of our time and money. Definitely in need of a customer service makeover.
Loved, very delicious.
I asked to have my dessert for my boyfriend to say happy birthday etc, they called and confirmed that they would do that and I left disappointed because they didn’t write it!
