Our dinner took over 2 hours. I understand people go there for a leisurely process, but they set our broth on the table and said it would take 5-8 minutes to heat up, but didn't come back for over 20 minutes with our meats to cook. We also waited over 20 minutes for our main course to be cleared after we were finished. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday and had a reservation for 5:45pm. We didn't leave until 8pm and that's with having to ask for our check and signing at the bar so we could leave to get our kids home to bed.
After planning for a week to go here for a big date and after making a reservation pretty far in advanced, we showed up and had to wait about 15 minutes for our reserved table. When they did seat us they took us outside and put us out on the patio. I mentioned to the hostess that we didn't want to sit outside and her response was "We are just really busy inside". Umm - isn't that why you make a reservation in advanced? I didn't want to make a huge stink so we sat outside. During that time, we were forgotten about multiple times and I had to actually go to the bar to get refills as nobody would come check on us. We had 3 different waitresses serving our table which was confusing and may be the reason we were forgotten. The entire experience was completely ruined and not what I was expecting for such an expensive night out (over $150 for 2 people...). Literally dinner took over 3 hours (most of this time was spent looking for our waitress or waiting between courses). At this price, you shouldn't have to get up multiple times looking for someone to refill your water glass or bring you a fork (there was no silverware on our table) It was all we could do to get the check and get out of there. Will not go back.
We arrived on time for our 2pm reservation on a Saturday and were made to wait approx. 12 minutes to be seated, even though the restaurant was only about 30% full. Party of four; however, we were only provided 3 menus for some odd reason. We asked for kids menus for the two kids and were only brought a single kids menu. Then after ordering, we waited approx. 35 minutes for our drinks. Food was not fresh; and the service was awful. Hostess and servers all told us that they were relatively new and it really showed. This restaurant needs to invest in quality personnel because their current staff is damaging their brand.
We went here for our daughter’s graduation. She loved it! It was nice to have a long meal...not to feel rushed. And the fondue aspect makes it interactive. Real conversations could happen.
Our waiter was new, did nothing for my wife's 40th birthday, brought everything at the wrong time, and took so long between courses we almost left. The meal was over $100 for cheese and salad, no alcohol nor dessert-- including some items brought so late as to be irrelevant to the meal (premium dippers brought long after the cheese was gone, etc.). This was a huge let down from a place that has been such a special part of our family history. I don't know if we'll ever go back.
Service was great and the food was tasty. I was a bit overwhelmed with all the cheese as it was really rich so would probably pass on that next time. The main entree with surf and turf was super yummy as well as the milk chocolate dessert fondue. A bit pricey for what you get so recommend for special occasions or want the fondue experience.
The AGM at the La Jolla location, made my husbands birthday celebration very special!
It was great except we had to ask to move tables. People behind us my kicking seat and being super loud.
I love Melting Pot. Just not this one. We were there for 3.5 hours and it definitely wasn’t busy. I can’t sit that long, so by the time we left, I could barely walk. It shouldn’t have taken that long. Then on top of it, our server kept having an issue with the checks and had to keep leavingand fixing it. Also, the Melting Pots I’m used to served Granny Smith apples with the cheese. This one served golden delicious that were covered in a coat of water that tasted like a chemical. The booths were cramped and they didn’t offer any extra pots for vegetarians. I was very disappointed. The menus were also sticky and when you’re going to pay $150+ for 3 people, the menu should look classier instead of a laminated card. Finally, what happened to the cheesecake served with the chocolate? Where I’m from, that was the best part. This one didn’t even have it!
We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the chocolate and peanut butter fondue.
I got scaled because of a malfunction on one of their devices that spewed hot broth on me and the staff and management were prompt to take care of me. To make sure I was okay and gave me a 15 percent discount. This did not affect my enjoyment and I am sure measures were put in place to prevent this in future.
Our server was Eric. He was super accommodating to a couple of special requests. Also my drink took forever so the manager comped that AND my cheese too. I didn’t expect that!
The endless fondue was a great deal. Definitely go on an empty stomach.
Amazing food and magnificient service.
Awesome bartender and great service
A fun evening! We had the 4-course dinner, and enjoyed the opportunity to linger over our meals and talk together. The service was very good, and a wide variety of foods/fondue is available . We really appreciated the generous Veteran's discount.
Great waiter. Dessert is the best
the staff was amazing and very understanding when I had to leave early due to work they finished making the dessert very quickly and brought it all wrapped up as I was paying for the meal
It was amazing the food was decadent, it definitely had its own flare of uniqueness. The service was fabulous I was thoroughly pleased. I definite must go!
Awesome staff and amazing food!
It was a busy Mother’s Day evening. The room was very loud and the booths were flimsy & could feel the other persons movements on the other side/table. I did not care for the swapping of pasta for potstickers. Potstickers make sense-pasta no.
No parking, valet only, slow service, high tip automatically gets added included in your bill.
Walked in with high expectations and walked out very dissapointed. Waiter did not explain menu thoroughly and we were there for 2 and a half hours before the check was given. Waiter was not attentive. Food was good but for the price and value I would say save your money and look up some fondue recipes online and do it at home. They also surcharge your bill so they can "afford to pay their waiters" because the minimun wage is going up. Can say confidently I am never coming back and have already told others to not waste their time.
One of my favorite places to bring some of my female friends who perhaps don't get a chance to get out to many of the more fun places to eat at.
Overpriced for what you get then you add a 3 % surcharge on top of it.
At $50 per person there's a bit of sticker shock, but when you figure that includes a 4 course meal and table-side service I think it's reasonable for the rare night your 13 year old wants to eat with mom and dad :)
Great service! Fun staff and great food, had a blast with my teenage step daughters and we tried a ton of flavors!
We can always expect impeccable service from Jonah P. and the staff at this location. Outstanding. Consistently.
Fun food, knowledgeable wait staff and nice way to celebrate a special occasion.
Very nice dinner. Green goddess is the best!
Experience was nice and the food was good.
The service is great and the community shared experience is wonderful. I personally think the booth seating is rather uncomfortable. The tables seem rather high considering I'm dipping into a pot in the center of the tables.
We enjoyed our visit very much. We brought the kids for the first time and they ate every bite! The chocolate fondue makes a wonderful finale. Our server Tony is always friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. We will definitely be back!
Was pressured into getting a “more expensive” option. Our server was really more a used-car salesman than he was a server trying to sell us food items. Food wasn’t worth the money. Taste was mediocre.
Seated in the back even though we booked our reservation well in advance and the restaurant was not busy. Air conditioner was blasting, took a while to get turned off. Until then we were freezing. Seated adjacent to an obnoxiously loud person. Again, restaurant was not packed, we could have sat anywhere. Finally, overpriced cocktail was watered down. Probably because it was sitting at the bar until about a quarter way through our meal. Servers were sweet, young, and a bit green, so not mad at the service. Just a few too many misses in my book for a special occasion (birthday) dinner.
Excellent food. Wonderful service. They made my wife’s birthday very special. Thank you melting pot
The staff was friendly! Great food! Good overall experience especially for a anniversary occasion 👌🏼
Our server Tony was excellent. Made our visit better than expected which is quite a lot!
No hostess to help us for about five minutes. The bartender working about four feet away did not even acknowledge our presence; I walked all around the restaurant, even upstairs, looking for someone, and yet he still did not help us. Water and drinks were slow to arrive and not often refreshed. I ordered a "flight" of wine tasting which was to be paired with each course. They forgot to start it with the first course, so the "tasting" experience was not paired with each course and I couldn't even finish the final glass. The cheese and chocolate course were fun and delicious, but the main course was more gimmicky than tasty. I had a $100 gift card, but at the end of the meal I was told I could only use it at the other Melting Pot location. There was no mention of that limitation anywhere on either the Cohn Brothers website, the restaurant website, or at the restaurant. We went for our anniversary, but felt the overall experience was less than romantic and mostly a buzz-kill. Not only would I not recommend this restaurant, I would recommend NOT eating here.
Made 7PM reservations and waited 25 minutes to be seated. Once seated upstairs, realized there were VERY FEW Customers... so why the long wait?
It took another 20-25 minutes before anyone came to the table.
The food took 45 minutes ........
on and on and on.
Arrived 6:55. Departed 10ish. RIDICULOUS.
The food was average or less.
Two people, no alcohol, nothing special for $140.00. Crazy.
