The Melting Pot - Farmingdale Ratings and Reviews
My boyfriend and I celebrated Valentines Day since we couldn’t on Wednesday. The food and service was excellent as always, however we had 7:30 reservations and we were waiting for quite a while until they could seat us. Every-time my boyfriend would ask how much longer till we get seated the hostess response was in a minute your table should be ready which was false. So other than that it was a great night. They should fix their reservation system because if people have reservations they shouldn’t have to wait 15-20 minutes for their table.
It was a good experience overall, the waiter was very nice and came to check on us often which was great. The food was delicious and not too noisy which was delightful. The cheese was super tasty and the chocolate dessert fondue was also very good. However since I am on the younger side they did not treat me as well as they could have which is preposterous because my money is just as good as anyone else’s. Besides that it was a joyful experience.
Melting Pot is my teenage daughter's favorite restaurant. She asks to go there frequently and she juts got a slew of great grades , so her Mom and I thought it was worth it to splurge a little.
We had a great meal and a great time. Don't skip desert! The chocolate dips are the best!
The food here, although expensive, was very good! We were a table of 5 and ordered 3, 4-course entree's which was just enough! We went on a Tuesday so the restaurant was quiet and intimate which made it all the more enjoyable. Our waitress was super helpful as the menu was kind of hard to understand for first-timers. We started with the Caesar salad and the house salad (I'm sorry I don't remember its name) which were both very good but they were tiny. Then we got the cheese fondue (the fiesta, and the brie & bacon) the fiesta one is basically queso and I felt the brie one had a bit too much wine, but dipped with green apples so delicious! Then we were served the meat, we got filet mignon, pork and beef teriyaki these were phenomenal! With the accompanied dipping sauces we were not disappointed. My favorite course was by far dessert, we had the peanut butter and chocolate fondue as well as the Baileys fondue those were both simply decadent. Honestly, I'm happy we went because we were always curious about this restaurant but I feel if I ever decide to go back it would definitely just be for dessert.
Was upset with the whole experience. The server rushed us, even dropped the dessert menu as soon as we began cooking our entrees. Did not like the whole concept of having to cook our own food. Plus it was extremely expensive. You barely get any food. The appetizer with the cheese and the dessert were the only good parts. However, my boyfriend and I were very upset with the whole experience. Our bill was over $100 and we still left there hungry, plus we had to cook our food. Overall, it’s a good concept for a restaurant, however the entrees portion of the dinner needs serious help. Especially if the meal costs over $50 a person. This place is just ripping people off.
