We attended to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and could not have picked a better place. We wanted something a bit different and a Fondue restaurant fit that bill. The food, service, and ambiance were terrific. We opted for the complete 4-course dinner and spent about 2.5 hours there but time flew by. We never felt rushed. Our server was great. She explained all of the options and hints on cooking times and dressings. Just a great overall experience.
Waiter was fantastic. Fun date night. Portions could be a little bigger.
2 for 2 here in Dallas. We just moved here and they have been amazing on both visits.
We visit The Melting Pot about 1-2 times/ year, usually for a special celebration. This time we were celebrating 3 friends making their college decisions. We love booking on Open Table since TMP is only open for dinner. Our reservation was accepted and no one had to play phone tag.
My least favorite part of going to TMP is literally climbing the stairs to the location. It's awkward, usually dingy and sometimes dirty.
Once we get into TMP the service by Rich was top notch, no one had empty glasses for long, dippers were refilled as requested and the meal ran smoothly. 2 members of the party had never fondued before so it was fun to introduce them to the dining experience.
It was another successful trip to TMP.
Strange the the waiter recommended not getting the oil instead of the broth. He seemed to think you had to tempura everything if you cooked it in oil. I hear him say the same thing to the people at the next table. Since that’s. What we came for we ordered it anyway. It was awesome. Maybe a little more training for the staff is called for.
It was a great place for a special occasion dinner. The service was outstanding.
The food was outstanding but the best part was our waiter, Brian. He gave a complete description of the menu explaining all the options which helped in our selections. He also gladly accommodated my daughter who has a shellfish allergy. He totally won the admiration of my two grandkids with special drinks and extra cherries. He was very personable and entertaining. This was by far the best dining experience we have ever had here. Thank you, Brian.
We have been to Melting Pot several times in the past but tonight’s server was super slow and not attentive. Usually the meal takes about 2 hours but tonight it took over 3. Very disappointing overall! Expected much better service for the price we paid for dinner.
I don't even know where to start, so let's go with the chronological order. I requested a birthday balloon; it was offered during the reservation confirmation, I called back w/in the given time frame yet was told no, they could not produce a single balloon. When I said something, the manager said they'd get a single balloon. When I arrived, the name on the celebration board was MY first name, even though I said it was for my son. When I pointed it out, they said they use last names if no name is mentioned, which would have been fine except that it was My VERY feminine First name, & I specifically said son's bday. They said they would make it up at the table. At the table, which was barely clean, there was no balloon. Midway through the meal, the waitress asked if it was any special occasion, when we said my son's birthday, she said happy birthday and that was the last we heard of it. The tables on either side of us had balloons brought out to the birthday kids, oddly also teens. The other kids also got the birthday songs and all the fuss.
If that's not bad enough, the food was substandard- at least of the portions we got. A table of 6 had to share two sets of batter and dips, and vegetables. Nobody could reach anything. When we asked for more, they made us choose single things to bring more of instead of the set of things that supposedly came with the meal. I gave up trying to eat (so we wouldn't be scrabbling to get food like some homeless people) and just thought I'd save my meal for later. After they turned off the cooktop, they told me I couldn't take my food home because it wasn't cooked. Their "solution" was a $5 discount. I didn't want to make a miserable situation worse for a bday "celebration" so I paid the bill, but I will never go there again unless they make this situation right. It felt like they were cheaping out on every level.
The experience was incredible!
Every time we've come here, we've never been disappointed in the food offerings or the excellent service. A great place to celebrate special events or for romantic dining.
Service was perfect. Food was outstanding. Great place for an intimate date.
My wife took me here for the first time tonight for my birthday. When we arrived, we were politely greeted by the host staff. After just a few minute wait, we were escorted to our table. Walking through the restaurant, we noticed very few tables occupied by guests but were nonetheless lead to a small table tucked away in the back of a small side hall. Still not much to complain about, as we were able to see this an added intimacy to our evening. However, nearly forty five minutes after having been sat and multiple selfies later, we still had not been greeted by a member of the wait staff. While, the waiters taking care of the other two tables in this area had checked on them multiple times, neither of them acknowledged that we had yet to be greeted. When a different waiter did see us sitting there and start walking up as if we might be his table, he promptly turned around and darted away as if he had suddenly remembered something he had forgotten. A few minutes later and still no service, my wife and I decided to cut our losses. On our way out we let the host staff know that no body had been by to take care of us and that we were leaving so somebody might want to go turn off the fondue burner. While they did apologize, they were also quick to hold the door open for us as we left. It's possible we may try Melting Pot again in the future but thanks to this experience, it certainly will not be at this location.
Brian, our server, was excellent. He really made the experience. He did not make us feel rushed even though we ended up there past closing. He made everything delicious and made us feel special. Excellent service and excellent food with value for the price. We will definitely return.
Nice place, great food but service could have been better
Fondue was really good, salad was average. Main course was awful, who boils steak? Raw meat and kids do not mix. Dessert was very good.
Enjoy it every time we go here. Food is Fantastic. Pace is slow enough to enjoy time with companions but quick enough to not drag on. Server was really nice and helpful.
Just really small portions unless you buy their combi
Super fun experience! Our server devin was very fast, friendly, and efficient!
We were not told when we made the reservation that it required 3 hours to eat! Additionally, we were not told when the waitress was making the dips that she decided how many "portions" she put in the pots. Each "Portion" is the price on the menu. So basically for cheese dip (made with primarily grated cheese) and a small salad and some chocolate...for 7 people..it was over $200! We didn't get to do the ridiculously expensive entrees because the waitress said we wouldn't have time to cook them OURSELVES in the two hours we had allotted for a meal. For the life of me, I can not understand what people would like about this place.
Food was alright now as good as I’ve had before from there. The service was so disappointing
Fantastic food and fantastic service! I highly recommend!!
Came here for my 1 year anniversary, first time here and this place was just amazing! Food was delicious, service was spot on and pricing for what you get is great! Loved this place will recommend to anyone and i will be coming back!
Jasmine was our wonderful server! The food is dense and rich and we ended up have to take it to-go. Great value, great night.
Had a great time here for my birthday dinner! Lots of good food!
Very fun and great experience for family
Definitely need to step up the wine selection!!! The wine cellar had no really good wines, or very few. We did end up getting a deal on a couple of bottles of good red wines they said they were wanting to get rid of. I think we paid like $65 per bottle. Either way, we wouldn't recommend this place to our friends because they all are wine drinkers...a lotto wine and the wines you carry aren't great.
We do love the atmosphere and food but alcohol needs a lot of work!
Our server was nice, but rushed us through the entire ordering process. In fact, we got our meat delivered while only 1/2 way through our cheese fondue.
Celebrating Valentine’s Day due to busy schedule this week.
My wife and I went to Addison, Texas and sat at Darryl’s table. He was patient with us not understanding half the menu and eating off the fondue fork with the cheese. He took his time. He even showed us pictures of his straight A student son at UT. Great night celebrating family at the Melting Pot.
This was my first time there, the food was great and I had a good time. Evelyn our server was amazing!
Our waitress was very nice and professional. The good was decadent. Although the restaurant was practically full, it was still intimate and quiet.
I don't think they've changed the interior at this location in 10 years, everything has a hint of rundown, from the carpet to the tables to the seats. Walked in for after dinner dessert fondue around 8:45, the hostess obviously got off on what little power she welded in the form of turning us down for a table. I then turned to my handy dandy OpenTable app and found an open reservation for 9. We were sat 5 minutes later.
They put us in the very corner of the restaurant. Perhaps the most rundown forgotten table, probably hand selected by the bitter hostess. Service was slow, but our waiter was nice. We waited something like 10 minutes for him to even come to the table.
Seems like this place really needs revitalization, if I weren't already in Addison I would have much rather gone to Simply Fondue for ambience alone.
We had a great time at The Melting Pot. My only complaint would be that it seemed really dirty. There was trash and food on the floor in the restaurant that I never once saw an employee clean the entire two hours we were eating. You could tell that it was not regularly cleaned. The bathroom was not in good condition with paint peeling and the doors having marks all over them. For an expensive evening, I would have appreciated more detail to the restaurant not seeming so ran down.
Not impressed at all with the service we received. I've been to several other Melting Pot restaurants where service standard was much higher; the four course meal would run smoothly. At this location we waited over 20 min. to get the third course and the waiter seemed disengaged with the fondue process.
First impression, was awesome service right off the bat, I had to change my reservation slightly and they were so nice about it. My friends’ and I had a really good time. The staff overall was pretty responsive, one waiter did spill an entire glass of water down one of my friend’s back, he was apologetic and accidents do happen. Our main waiter was fun and personable, repeated cook times and what the sauces were serval times.
For the money you’re going to spend here, the service, atmosphere, and overall environment is horrendous. The food was pretty good, but that’s about it. Do yourself a favor and spend your hard earned money somewhere else that’s actually worth it. This place is a lipstick wearing pig.
Service was great and the food was delicious from appetizer to the dessert. Wasn’t too pricy for a finer dining experience. I really enjoyed it! Would highly recommend.
I love this place very much and came here to celebrate my 22nd birthday with my group of friends. Everything was great until the very end when it was time to pay. They took my card and said it was declined, which is impossible cause I had more than enough money and I made sure of it. So I tried a gift card and they said that was declined too which is also impossible cause I had just gotten it right before I arrived and yes it was approved and I double checked. Turns out they said it was their machines, and cause of whoever was swiping my card, swiped it so much, my card got locked cause my bank thought it was fraud. (I was also sent to the atm downstairs and was watched as they ordered me to try to get cash out. Not ok.) I had to unnecessarily go through a process the next morning to get it unlocked. was caused too much of a inconveniance which ruined my birthday and didn't leave a tip since it ended up getting paid for over the phone by family. I really hope this doesn't happen again since this really sucked.
