We celebrated our anniversary here, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food and fondue was fantastic. And our server, Cass, was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Made our experience even better.
We love this place. My wife and I shared the 4 course meal which was plenty for the two of us. Super easy and delicious!
Our first time at The Melting Pot. Celebrating my birthday. Our waitress was Anna and she was fabulous!! We were first showed to a small closet for our table - host pleasantly gave us another. Anna was very helpful in navigating the menu (quite a process, but I get it now). Had the artichoke and spinach with bread and veggies, highly recommend the charcuterie board - amazing!! Our main course was Bourguignonne style and was perfect! The s’mores chocolate fondue was absolutely delicious. I don’t have one single bad thing to add. Was a little pricey, but nothing I didn’t expect for the entire experience. Definitely will go back!!
We had 4 people at our table. One order was for 3 portions of cheese, and the other was 2. Our server misappropriated the 3-portion cheese into the 2 portion liquid/other mixes. We tried telling this to the manager and server, but they disagreed with us and instead of just adding more cheese, they added a whole other portion of gorgonzola. After adding that, we showed them that it was still watery and they finally owned up and added the rest of the cheese.
The main course was wonderful apart from the fact the server forgot to turn on the burners after spilling a drink on my friend (this happens, I know). I noticed after it taking a while to boil, the burners were not even on.
During the desert phase, the server added candied pecans to my friends' smores chocolate instead of graham crackers. She started saying that the pecans were more popular, but eventually said the graham crackers were stale and so they've been using the pecans instead. I have a slight allergy to pecans and did not appreciate that the server didn't ask before putting the substitute in the chocolate. We then noticed after the server asking if there was anything else she could bring and we noticed the "Classic" chocolate we had did not have any peanut butter in it. She said, "oh, it should be in there", and we looked and stirred with the spoon to show here it was not.
The server admitted she was new, but overall it seemed like there was a lack of training for the server. She did not know how to explain the menu very well and she could not show us which sauce was which during the main course. She also had a hard time distinguishing the recipe for the two cheeses at the table, or even the meat selections each person ordered.
Our server messed up our drink order twice. We ordered our last beer and apparently it was put on the wrong ticket and we never received it. The server took the beers off of our check after I asked about it. We were sitting right next to the bar. It's very frustrating when you can see your beer sitting on the bar but you never receive it. We won't be back - not for that kind of money.
The fondue was very good, however, they were out of bread, which is strange for a fondue restaurant on a Friday evening.
Amazing atmosphere, waitress was super helpful because my friend and I had never been to a fondue restaurant. Delicious food!
Awesome food and service. Steve did an amazing job.
Great place for a date night, will not disappoint. Our server was awesome
Definitely a different type of restaurant. Food was very good. I think for the price we paid ($100 for just my daughter and me) the restaurant should have been nicer. There was a hole in the booth seat and the booths and tables just looked dingy. My daughter (age 12) used the bathroom and said it really needed to be cleaned..yuck! We enjoyed the experience, but definitely would have liked to see a better maintained establishment. Also, we enjoyed cooking on the cast iron griddle, but with two or three tables using the same cooking method, the entire section was filled with smoke. Perhaps think about better ventilation to help with the smoke.
Just for the price the main course is just ok . The cheese is always good , but I’ve tried several cooking styles and meats and am
Just not impressed
We had an amazing time for our first ever melting pot experience. Our server Steve helped us figure what we wanted since we had no idea how we were suppose to order since it was our first time.
It's still good, but the quality is slowly dipping since they lost their liquor license.
Bathrooms are a mess.
The dipping sauces were watery this time and the portions are getting smaller.
I feel like they won't be there much longer.
We have dined at the Melting Pot for years and on most occasions it has been wonderful. This time however was terrible and made us question whether we will be back. We were sitting right next to the thermostat and it read 79 degrees inside the restaurant; with the cooktop going it felt much hotter, it was very uncomfortable to say the least. Our waitress was nice, but her service was terrible. She would bring something and disappear for long periods of time, we would just sit and wait with no food or drink. Not once did she refill our drinks or even check them. When we paid, we paid in cash; the waitress left with our money and did not return. Finally we found her sitting in the back chatting and asked for our change. She had assumed she was keeping it all and had not made change. She had to go into her tip money to make change. Overall, it was a very unsatisfactory experience.
The service was great and the food was great too. The Melting Pot was a fun place to have a nice, quiet dinner.
We waited for a while to get our drinks after we ordered, but they had informed us they we short staffed so we understood. Otherwise everthing came out fairly quickly and tasted great, I still think they are a tad pricey but overall a fun dining experience.
My wife is vegetarian - when we told the waitress that she wanted an entree without meat she acted like we had just kicked her dog and she actually said "I'm sorry you don't eat meat, that must be rough" and then followed it up with more questions about how hard it must be to avoid meat and how no way could the she avoid meat. Not only was it a bizarre thing to say it was an awkward situation, how are you supposed to respond to that?
If you're vegetarian and want to eat here - prepare to be interviewed about your non meat eating status.
We came for Sangrias and chocolate fondu... oh so good!!!
Had a trainee help serving us. Did not know what was being served to us. Ordered the best of Boise both serves kept asking what we ordered. Prices were were very high for quality of service.
Thme room was perfect for my daughters 20th birthday. It seated 12 of us and was a very relaxing evening. Our waiter Eric was amazing! He was helpful, engaging and fun for our whole family. We will definitely come back for another special event!
It was a great experience, my husband had never been there and he enjoyed it thoroughly. We would come back more often but it's a little too spendy for us. You would think it would be cheaper since we have to cook our own food. But it was fun
Loved the new grilling option. Too many plates on the table! We had a party of 5 and it got way too crowded. Veggies cooked too slowly. Maybe parboil them first. Service couldn’t have been better. Our waiter was Eric. Food came out a little slow.
The food was decent. Service was good.
The loud Jazz music destroyed the ambiance. I have eaten there before and they didn’t play Jazz music then. Unfortunately, Jazz is one of the few music types I cannot stand to listen to for more than 1-2 songs, that and death metal give me a headache after a half hour of listening to. If you are a Jazz fan, by all means go, if you are not, it kills the romantic/low key mood I am used to at this melting pot. According to other guests there it wasn’t even good Jazz music.
So we had the best server!! Ms. E was very kind and was great at being personable. The food was amazing and the shrimp was so fresh. We had the restaurant to ourselves which was pretty awesome. And last but least, the host Mr. J did a fantastic job in the pronunciation of my name I was impressed. Great people work there, and great food!!
perfect date night for me and my boyfriend :)
Food was delicious! Go hungry. Looking forward to next time!
Our waiter was exhausting. He actually tasted our cheese after mixing it and dropped the f-bomb twice, once directly to my 14-year-old daughter. Other people also served us so I left a decent tip hoping he was going to share because he definitely did not earn it. Because of this and how he messed up our orders I would not at this point recommend such an expensive experience to a friend.
Our entire experience was amazing. Very relaxing and fun.
We love the Melting Pot, the only issue i ever have is the dark cave like seating we get sometimes. I know some folks want to have their fondue in an intimate setting but we don't.
This was our anniversary celebration and we thoroughly enjoyed our 1st time experience at The Melting Pot! We loved the 4 course meal and our server was very interactive and informative about the options for the meal. Thanks for a memorable evening!
We were there for 3 hours because you have to cook your entree yourself and we got too much chicken which takes a while. It was a good experience since we had fun with it. Everything was seasoned well and the beginning cheese and ending chocolate fondue was amazing. The dippers provided were great and they even bring you more if you run out. Wait staff was very attentive and we never felt rushed.
great service and it was my boyfriends birthday but it was a little high priced but still great.
Amazing food! Service was fantastic! We loved our experience and made our Anniversary that much better!
Loved the food, loved the experience, and loved the waiter! What a cool place! Will definitely be going back!
Father’s Day dinner
Excellent service and excellent food. Slightly over priced but a great experience.
Amazing service and the four course meal is the best way to go. My husband and I had an incredible time there while celebrating his birthday.
My Husband took me and my family for my Birthday! Awesome place to celebrate those special moments. Food was excellent and the service even better! 5 Stars!
We made reservations for a party of 4 to celebrate our daughters engagement. We were seated at a 1 burner table and asked if we could switch to a table with 2 burners and were told there wasn’t any availability. The table next to us had 2 burners and remained empty the entire time we were there. We made it through 2 rounds of cheese and salads in the 90 minutes we were there. We ended up pulling the rip cord and leaving because the service was horrible and we all left hungry. I love shelling out good money for empty tummies. The service was awful and not one time were we offered refills on our beverages. Two big thumbs down because we’ve always really loved the Melting Pot.
Darcy, our server, was excellent. She was friendly, knowledgable, and never let a glass need a refill. Highly recommend.
