What a great dinner I had last night at The Market Place. It was my first time there. My server (Dakota) was excellent. He paced my meal in a very relaxed manner. I started with sour dough bread. It comes with butter. As soon as the waiter placed the bread on the table he walked away, before I thought to ask for salt. Well as soon as I tasted the salt, which was lightly herbed, i realized that the kitchen added the perfect amount of salt to the butter (a new experience for me). Next came peaches wrapped in local ham. Delightful. My Main was tagliatelle with a red wine reduction and a gentle Asiago sauce. Excellently prepared. I accompanied the pasta with a glass of Zinfandel blend…Crème brûlée for desert. It is a rare occasion that I get the combination of service, food and ambiance that The Market Place offers. No wonder they have been offering great fare for 46 years. Bravo

We were visiting from out of town and it was my birthday. When we checked in, they gave me an envelope with a birthday card hand signed by 5 or so of the staff. Very sweet! The food was great and service was outstanding.

On balance, this was a bit of a disappointment. The server was friendly, but lacked polish, and he clearly had too many tables, both upstairs and downstairs. The service was relatively slow, but in and of itself, that's ok, if the food is hot, well presented and tasty when it gets to the table. A steak ordered medium rare arrived someplace between medium and well; the chicken dish, recommended by our server, was very well prepared and tasty, but it was lukewarm; my fish (sunburst trout) was unappetizing to look at, but had a good flavor at, albeit, a tepid temperature. In general, there seemed to be a possible disconnect between the kitchen and the runners that left the food unattended after it was plated. Our server made a valiant effort to be helpful, but he was clearly overtaxed. It strikes one as a restaurant in its first couple of weeks of operation, not sure about its staffing or its 'choreography'. For the price point, this was not good value.

This was a fantastic experience! Food was great, our server Corey was great, the small hooman in our party loved his food so much that he had me write a note to the chef! Highly recommend this place

From the moment we walked in, we were blown away. It wasn't "fsncy", it was special. We did make reservations, because Chef is on the James Beard list, it wasn't mentioned. They weren't trying to use that to excuse anything. Our server was not only attentive but interactive his recommendations were on point, the food. The food. I fancy myself a foodie. I sous vide st home, my 9 day pastrami is the stuff of dreams. This place, this place is somewhere ill dream about. Kudos,chef..not just for your talent in the kitchen but for your HR person who hires such an amazing staff.
