Two larger parties made for a noisy dinner, which was for my wife’s birthday (party of two). Can’t have everything.

Special occasion was Christmas dinner—food was nothing special and the Beef Wellington and soups were cold. Server was very strange — seemed out of it! The only time he seemed nice was when he gave us the bill. The Lodge needs to step it up!

I’ve had dinner at Black Butte Lodge twice in the last three months. Each time, the wait staff were friendly, professional, and prompt. The food was well prepared, and of high quality. The menu is varied and features local ingredients. I will definitely return!

The Lodge is an old friend to us because we have been coming here since the early 70s. In the early years our kids were the noisy ones in the restaurant and now it's our grandchildren. The food, the menu and the service has cycled up and down through these years and in the last few years is back up. The building is getting old and tired. It is time for us (the homeowners) to reach in our pocket and pay an assessment to scrape and rebuild it. We did a great job with the Lakeside and we can do something special for a new lodge restaurant.

This is always one of our favorite places to eat when we're at Black Butte. They're always very accommodating for my husband who has very many food allergies and sensitivities. We are so appreciative of that!

The meal was great and so was the service. This is such a great location for a nice dinner. There was even a wedding going on that allowed for some fun people watching. Great experience.

We had a 5 star experience at Black Butte Lodge. We had a wonderful, enthusiastic, caring young waiter.
The view of the mountains and pond from the dining room is spectacular! Our dinner was 10 out of 10. Appetizer to dessert, perfection. Food was well cooked, seasoned, a presented with great visual appeal. We had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner and a well prepared, tasty breakfast the next morning.

Food and service were good, as always. I asked for a quiet table but we were seated next to a noisy party of 12. We had a hard time talking over the noise. That was a disappointing.

The service was terrible. We ordered starter salads and an entree an specifically asked for salads to come first. The waitress brought all out at the same time and all she said was “oops they came out at the same time” and left. Didn’t fill our water, didn’t check in with us and just dropped the bill later. Meanwhile she brought the other table next to us bread, filled water numerous times, checked in periodically. It was like we didn’t exist. I would not go back. And to add to the terrible service, the hostess did not properly check us in for our reservation, so it showed on the app as if we missed our reservation which was not the case.

The view is fantastic, the service is friendly and efficient, and the food is some of the best one will ever experience. Both my wife and I had the pork tenderloin and it was flavored and cooked to perfection. We eat out quite a bit, but I would put the Lodge at the top for a memorable meal.

We had Austin as our server. He was friendly, on top of our order and a great sense of humor. We had a nice window table and we were able to have dinner while looking at the amazing scenery. The food was excellent! Juicy tender steak with all kinds of side dishes to choose from. They had the best cheese cake I've ever had. We can't wait to go back. Try it you won't be disappointed.

Enjoyed a delicious and large portioned breakfast on Father's Day! Beautiful view of the lake and mountains. Quiet and calm atmosphere with excellent service. Reasonably priced. Totally enjoyed it and will return for breakfast. Also plan to return to try lunch and dinner sometime. Our only other visit was for Thanksgiving Dinner in 2017 which was fantastic!

We enjoyed Christmas dinner at the ranch this year. It was our first time dining there. The meal was outstanding with excellent service. We had a window table overlooking the lake and enjoyed a beautiful view of the mountains (when the clouds allowed). Saw a family of otters pop out of the water onto the frozen ice. And did some people watching as they were walking around on the trails. A huge firepit was lit outside the lodge and we enjoyed the view and fresh air by the fire for a few minutes before heading home.

We had Thanksgiving dinner at the Lodge restaurant. The setting is great. The service was good. I ordered the pork loin entre. When it first came it was hardly above room temp. While waiting for my order again my companion almost finished his meal - the turkey dinner which he said was good although it was warm but not hot. When my order came it was a new order which was nice rather than just microwaving the first order. This time it was warm although not hot. The vegetables were good but the pork loin was not. It was tough, over cooked, and dry. The fig stuffing in it was the only part that was edible and it was good.

I took the meat home, only had two small bites there, as it was far too expensive to not try to get something out of it. After slicing it thin and doctoring it up with quite a lot of others things I was able to at least eat it.

All in all a major disappointment. I've been there before with friends for drinks and it was great but if this is their usual standard for dinner I would never recommend it for a meal.
