    The Local has a variety of venues that have been enjoyed over the years, which can be rented out individually or all together accommodating parties over 150 seated, 200 for cocktail events. Each space offers it’s own fully-functioning bar, handcrafted tables, and a beautiful atmosphere to hold your special event. Our larger spaces are located in the upstairs portion of our restaurant, and our Wine Room is located on the main floor.

    Hi, the local was an absolutely wonderful experience from the incredible food to the lovely staff to the very casual relaxed and lovely ambience. We had a wonderful time and we’re actually going back again later this week.

    We went on a Tuesday Date Night and shared the crab soup appetizer and mixed berry cobbler dessert. Our individual main courses were Gnocchi Bolognese and Ruffled Mushroom Ragout. We thought all of the courses were very tasty although the shared ones were hard to share. (Next time we'll get something we can cut in half!) We thought the $50 price was very reasonable and definitely plan to eat dinner there again.

    Seated right away. Excellent service fast and friendly. Food was delicious. Everyone commented how good their meals were

    Food was inedible. Pork chop was super hard and rubbery. We couldn’t eat it. The Salmon was overcooked and dry despite asking for it medium rare. The appetizers and dessert were passable. My parents were celebrating their 53rd anniversary and this was a big let down. They comped $5 but what good is that? We’ve been coming to The Local for years and the food has always been decent even when it’s not great but this will have been the last time. I wish we had gone elsewhere last night.

    Our appetizers and main were served at nearly the same time. The 2 fish dishes we order were both bland and overcooked. The hamburger was beyond overcooked. The cheese and charcuterie were sub par at best. Kind of what I would expect on an airplane. They took a few items off our bill to make up for all food arriving at the same time and it was still nearly $200. I can’t imagine returning.

    The service was very poor. The waiter served us the wrong food and brought dessert before we even had our entree. I had been here before and really liked it, so was very disappointed.

    UVA Graduation weekend, we were running late/lost and they were very accommodating! Very organized and we will definitely return!!
