Very disappointing. The puttanesca had little flavor as well as shrimp. My. Salmon came raw andI had to send it back. It was so unappetizing and boring, I couldn’t even eat it. It was the worst salmon I’ve ever had. Both of us left our dinners mostly untouched. Finally, we are wine drinkers and found the wine selection very overpriced for all of the bottles. overall, the restaurant is very overrated.

Fabulous!!! Absolutely delicious!! I got the braised short ribs, which were amazing! My Dad got the beef tenderloin and loved it. The Brine was amazing full of flavor!! My mom got the Trout and said it was one of the best pieces of trout she’s ever had! Top notch restaurant and service!

Freezing cold. They seated us next to a door from the outside used to bring food upstairs. It was a freezing night. Really? Why do this? Unremarkable food. Service was competent.

Drinks: Wish they had Large Ice for Old Fashoneds B- Appetizers: Had Shrimp, fried oysters and crab soup. Small portions but outstanding A+ Dinner: I had the seafood pasta and my wife had the steak frites. It was good but would likely try other items next time B Desert: Black berry cobbler, a little small but outstanding. Recommend each person get their own A+

This was my second visit to The Local and I came back because of my previous experience. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is nice. It's just one of those places you want to come back to. Our waitress, Riley, was outstanding!!

We had a reservations and were seated right by the door so it was very crowded and loud. Our server was very short and to the point, made no small talk (we couldn’t even get a question out before she had walked away). The food was great, but the atmosphere was less than desirable. There was also a stinch to the restaurant when you walk in.

The service was excellent and the atmosphere pleasant. The crab soup was absolutely wonderful, but the rockfish was disappointing -- bland, almost tasteless. I would definitely go back, but I would order something different.

Good food, great wine selection, good prices. I was there with 4 other folks who hadn't seen each other in years. We never got the feeling like we were being rushed to order or leave. It probably helped that it was in the middle of the week and the space wasn't crowded when we sat, but we were the last to leave that evening.

We always have a great meal at The Local. Two of us had the filet with the yummiest mashed potatoes. The third person chose the Gnocchi Bolognese, which they are famous for. Desserts and drinks are always great too. I had a Dark and Stormy, which had pomegranate juice in it. The place is sneaky big, with a very nice outdoor dining area, and upstairs, there’s space for large groups and everyday dining.

Re-using appetizer utensils for entrees, placing utensils directly on the wooden tabletop, and not providing drinking straws unless requested, this restaurant is not for those who value cleanliness. I get the conservation angle, but, unless you are certain of the staff’s cleaning practices (our server was sweeping the dirty floor before serving our main course), you must overly rely on the staff’s representation. Even when we indicated we were uncomfortable with aspects of their service, we were not accommodated.

The food came out quickly and all together. Soup with entrees. The pork chop was so overcooked that it was difficult to cut with a steak knife. Despite this, I tried a bite. Somewhat warm on outside and not at all inside. Likely precooked and ‘warmed’ up. We were told the braised short ribs were fall apart tender. Our were like undercooked pot roast. We were seated upstairs and the floorboards were loose. Each time someone walked by, the table and chairs shook. This was about every 10-15 seconds. It took 15 minutes or so to find street parking.

We were a little disappointed with our first visit to The Local. The atmosphere was lovely - at least in the dining room and wine room (where we sat). The host offered us a seat in their outdoor tent or in the wine room, and after seeing the tent, we chose the wine room. Our server was fantastic, and we were happy to discover they offer half price bottles of wine on Monday nights. Our kids ordered the burger, and they were very happy with them, though the fries were cold and unsalted. My husband ordered the steak frites, which was pretty mediocre. I had the beef short ribs and mashed potatoes, and the short ribs were a little tough and the potatoes were cold. We ended up having a nice time in spite of the issues, but will probably not return.
