The food was good and the service exceptional! They even brought a complimentary dessert for my son’s birthday. We were only in Chicago for the weekend so we chose our dining locales carefully and we are glad we dined at the Lobby!

Beautiful Christmas decorations but eating in the lobby of a hotel so not a great atmosphere. Appetizers and burger were very good. Noodle dish was tasteless. Kitchen was very slow. Very expensive for the total experience.

This was our first time there and we were apprehensive about a lobby restaurant experience. We have an excellent dining experience. Ju was our wonderful server. The food was fantastic. The lobby was decorated for Christmas. Very festive! We would definitely go back.

Disappointed with the misleading booking online.

The service is terrible , soooooo slow . Everything takes forever. We were given water when we sat down and no one came to greet us for 30 min . When the waitress came she took our order and beber really came back . The place is really beautiful but not worth the $ , food is ok . So many other great places in Chicago you could go with better food and better service . Service to me is as important as the food . No bueno

We wanted to give all the credit and not say anything. Our server was amazing to the attention Tibi regarding allergies… however, it took 52 minutes for our food to arrive .. 2 salads and 3 kids orders.

I always love coming here, and it's been especially delightful during the pandemic. I find it to be one of the few restaurants in Chicago where it's safe and comfortable when it comes to distancing and masking. I brought a friend here this last time for her 50th birthday and will take another friend next week. Cannot wait!

We had a lovely experience at The Lobby with a only a couple small irksome issues. Firstly, the food was really nice - delicious starting salad, and the salmon main was well-presented and cooked to perfection. Our main issue was with the service. With an upscale dining experience, when the tea comes to the table, the milk and sugar should be brought with it - I had to wait awhile for my milk to arrive and ask twice for it. The tea leaf strainer’s holes were too large for the leaves, so they went through. Yes, being from London tea is almost a religion, but this could be improved. There were a couple other times where the servers seemed distracted and thus not able to provide us with excellent service. Overall the servers were pleasant, but at a place such as this, I have high expectations! Again, the food was really lovely and the atmosphere cannot be beat. It’s a gorgeous room.

The Chicago Peninsula is one of my favorite hotels in the US and their staff and culinary team always exceed expectations. The presentation for our afternoon tea was beautiful and the food and tea was delicious. The Lobby is an elegant and relaxing atmosphere and the food is always amazing.

Disappointed in the lack of service for afternoon tea compared to other tables. Provided less attention and was given containers while other tables food was packed and bagged for them. Upon request for a bag told they had no more however I explained it was raining and he got one for me. Not sure if this was because I was alone or African American. It put a damper on my afternoon tea.

We recently had High Tea at The Lobby. We used the hotel’s valet. That was awful. Had us out of our vehicle on the street with my 83 year old mother in the rain. Other folks had umbrella service, we were offered none. We could have pulled under the awning but the valet attendant insisted we got out there. For the high tea at The Lobby: There was a gentleman seated behind us and our waiter was enchanted with him. We were served table water. Then waited for 20 minutes while we listened to our waiter talk to the gentleman behind us. Showing him photos on his phone and all (the waiters phone). Finally came and took our tea order. Once we received our order about five minutes after another waiter came and took something off of the top tier of our tray said it was for someone else and brought it to someone else. The tea and the food was as wonderful as always. The live orchestra was lovely. It was unfortunate that the other surrounding the tea had happened.
