I love going to the Maidstone for brunch! Lots of wonderful choices on the menu. Very cool vibe in the restaurant. Great black and white framed photos on the wall. Service warm, friendly, professional!

The food is great. I think the service is really trying but can’t get it together. I like the ambiance so I will gladly wait a little longer for the food. It’s such a hip vibe and so Euro. I’ll be back. The outdoor area is the hidden gem of the Hampton’s

The place is beautiful, eclectic and super romantic. We visited for our mini moon, off-season, and Tyler the bartender was so awesome. He ensured we had the best night celebrating. The food was also delicious and the cocktails were fun. Do not miss for a romantic date night.

We had not been to the Maidstone in a couple of years. We are glad we came back. The atmosphere at the inn is very appealing, different areas for sitting even if it’s just for a drink and a pretty garden. Dinner was very good, reasonable prices and very good service. The staff is very pleasant with the exception of one or two hosts that just didn’t seem to fit in to the pleasant atmosphere.

We arrived at 735 for a 730 reservation and were informed by the hostess that it would be a bit of a wait for a table for two in the dining room but that they had a table for two in thebar area, which we accepted. After several minutes a waiter took our drink order, which required more explanation than seemed necessary and then he returned shortly thereafter for our dinner selection. About ten minutes later the waiter returned to clarify which salmon selection i wanted which was puzzling given that only one was on the menu. Forty minutes later, after nothing, not even bread, had been served or offered, we were able to attract the attention of the hostess and when we asked about the status of our order she seemed puzzled. Our waiter finally came about ten minutes later to apologize but he had “lost your ticket,” and asked for our order again. At this point we were at the restaurant nearly an hour so opted to leave. Atlwast they did not charge us for the one glass of wine we were able to have them serve us successfully. Too bad because i was looki g forward to their new menu.

The service was kind, but slow. Our salad came in reasonable time but our oysters were forgotten at first. When they came they were poorly shucked but tasty. Our main courses came immediately after the delayed oysters. They rushed us and handed us our entrees, clearing the empty oyster shells to the next table and leaving them there throughout dinner. Not pretty. The Striped Bass was delicious, but my veal chop was inedible: nearly raw and very fatty. When we shared that with our server, he said, "It is very hard to cook a veal chop correctly. You should have ordered the steak." Really? They did credit us for the returned entree.

Waiter was MIA during the entire meal, and rude when present. If it weren’t for the hard working bus boy, we would not have had what we needed. Food was bland and over priced while looking like it was assembled and heated up instead of being properly cooked in a kitchen.

We were very disappointed with The Maidstone. Having been there many times, we were always served a delicious and elegant meal that came out quickly. This time however was a total letdown. Our dinner reservations were at 7:00 and we were not served our food until 8:30. Although my fish was fine, my boyfriend’s steak as well as our friends steak was almost inedible. It was tough and not seasoned well.
The service was poor and there was not enough staff.
There is a lot of competition in The Hamptons now and The Maidstone really needs to up its game as to compete with them.

Three people dining. One incorrect entry delivered. When told waitress, she began by saying it was correct. When I told her what I ordered, she then said I was right. When given bill, it included the incorrect delivered entree. Disappointed.

Hot sticky eve w/no A/C on. Windows Open. Had to strongly request A/C. Had not, we would have left as that uncomfortable.

We loved this restaurant and it was a go to for many years. Family celebrations, engagements, etc. moments that were very special to us were celebrated here. Friday night we waited an hour for our table, were seated at a broken table, had the hostess take my son’s menu before we had ordered, asking us to share menus bc they didn’t have enough for all of the tables, the food was not good and on and on. It was a sad shift from what the restaurant had been and we won’t go back. The host could have cared less that they had a terrible showing. Seems normal now.

The absolutely worst restaurant experience we have had in years. The table wasn't ready for our reservation...twenty minute wait. Hostess totally unqualified for her job. Forty five minute wait for a glass of water! Waiter very pleasant but got food orders totally wrong. The experience was a disaster.

BAIT AND SWITCH; TOUGH DUCK - I previewed the menu on their website and was going to order the "Seafood Bowl - shrimp, lobster salad, lump grab, scallop and calamari ceviche, mussels, vinaigrette" as my starter, and "Long Island Duck Breast - sweet potato puree, snap peas, blood-orange citrus vinaigrette" as my main dish. Upon arriving at the restaurant and looking at the menu I didn't see the Seafood Bowl and when I asked the waited I was told it was no longer available and they had to update the website. I settled for the Tuna Poke, which despite not being what I wanted was very good. I waited patiently for my duck. When I asked the waited what was taking so long, I told him I hoped they weren't overcooking it. Well I received the sweet potato puree along with the snap peas and carrots which were cooked perfectly. Then I cut into the duck which I had to "saw" it with my knife because it was overcooked. As a duck breast aficionado, I know that duck breast, cooked correctly, should be able to slice with one pass of the knife. In addition, there was no blood orange citrus vinaigrette. When asked if I had a sweet tooth, I just asked for the check. I wanted to cut my losses. Then I took the two hour drive home. What a disappointment!

We told waitress that 3 out of the 4 of us were Glutten free. Two of us ordered the steak and it came to the table covered with fried onions with crumbs one of us had to go to front to complain finally waitress
Showed took them back and too quick brought out new ones. Both of us on Two separate houses were very sick that night and all the next day. It’s 2019 glutten free is not new and it’s serious.

Had a bad experience the last time we were here, but I've always liked the Maidstone and decided to try again. Big mistake. Had the shrimp and crab. Looked and tasted like the food at a second-rate chain restaurant. Also, the crabs must have made a run for it , because I could hardly find any on my plate.

The food was good and the service acceptable. Very very noisy. My biggest issue was the gentleman who assigned tables had the audacity to tell his assistant to take us outside on an exceptionally hot and humid night. I immediately declined as I saw where we were heading. We were then seated in the air conditioned dining room.

It was extremely loud until one particular table left then it was just very loud. That said, the food was outstanding. If you prefer a more quiet atmosphere I would strongly suggest eating outside. I don't know if it was the service or the kitchen but it was a bit slow, on the night we went the manager was helping the wait staff so I assume that they were short handed. The wait staff could have been trained better they were a bit unrefined. But the quality of the food made it worth it.

P.S. Don't skip desert here.

The Maidstone overlooks the village pond and despite the busy NY-27 inside is tranquil with nice views across the pond to the historic houses. The hotel is pet friendly and a short walk from the main shops of East Hamilton
We dined in a Lshaped room with our table next to the window overlooking the village. Seats are comfy but a pillow is needed.

The server was good and we started with cocktails before oysters on half shell came followed by appetizer of octopus. Nicely done and this was followed by Long Island duck breast

Overall well worth a visit

I made a reservation for 11 for a Sunday Brunch. I was coming for a special occasion. I was bringing my extended family for a post Baptism brunch. I called 3 times to confirm. When we arrived we were greeted by a confused, unwelcoming face. No smiles, no welcoming greeting. This lady appeared to know nothing about our reservation. I explained that I not only made it on open table, but then followed up with 3 phone calls to confirm and ask for a highchair. This killed the spirit of the event. She was able to accommodate us, but explained that they sat another family at our table (which was a more favorable location by the windows). Mess ups happen, no need to make my family in celebration mode to feel like I forgot to make the booking, especially since it was not a problem, there was a table available. The food was very good. We were pleased by that. The food took a very long time, but a kind gentleman came to the table explaining that it would be out shortly. The communication was enough to keep us content during the wait. There was a very nice lady that was quite kind to us. I believe she may also work in the Inn. Also, our server, was very lovely. She was a nice girl in a pink apron that was quite kind to us with our two young children. She put in our order perfectly and it came out perfectly. They made a delicious piece of fluke with sliced avocado for my baby girl. It was just right! She was very pleasant and sweet.

I reserved for my birthday to be somewhere cozy and nice. The host, not only acknowledging me, not any welcoming greeting and they first gave us the worst table back corner. I asked the hostess who sat us if I can have another table, she said that’s not for two people. But I saw there are people of two had these tables. Knowing it’s my birthday, it’s very disappointing. My dish, fluke came under cooked. Then I had shrimp & crab pasta which was the worst pasta I ever had. Small dish and pasta was over cooked. The worst of all, for this price, they should use fresh shrimp instead of tiny frozen shrimp. If it wasn’t for the friendly waitress, I would not give any start to this place. I’m not going back.

I really wanted to like The Maidstone
Restaurant more than I did. We sat on the sunporch which was nice and quiet. The atmosphere was pretty and relaxing. The only problem with that particular seating area is that guests of the hotel pass by going back and forth to their rooms- one couple walked past our table with a large dog which I thought was not appropriate for a restaurant to allow this practice. I ordered the octopus appetizer which came with chick peas and baby potatoes- the octopus was quite chewy. I then ordered the mahi mahi entree with mango salsa but the fish was really salty. Our server never really came to check on us to see if everything was ok or I would have said something but I guess he was working another part of the restaurant as well. We had more interaction with our bus boy than the waiter. At the end of our meal we were delayed for quite a while because we had an Open Table dining certificate that our server didn't know how to process - he kept telling us we needed a code which was no where on the certificate (nor necessary) so needless to say I and my husband both spent some time on the phone with Open Table to rectify the situation. This alone kind of killed the mood of the night- not the way you want to end a meal. Again we waited and were finally brough our check and receipt which was brought to us by the bus boy and not our server. No apologies were offered for the delay. We were also celebrating our Anniversay - which was not acknowledge by any staff member at any point during our entire evening.

The setting was pretty, especially outside.
The waiters were pleasant and polite but seemed to suffer from the heat. Perhaps they could be given the chance to cool down next to an AC unit for a second when the temperatures are this high...

Got seated, waited and waited. Ordered cocktails, waited. We were told kitchen was busy. Waited. Were told they didn't have the the correct ingredients for one of the cocktails. Waited.

Cocktail was fine.
Waited, waited, waited.
Heirloom Burrata salad was nice.
Waited.
Grilled mahi- mahi was just ok.
Crab & shrimp pappardelle was terrible. Lukewarm and absolutely tasteless. Wondered if they had forgotten an essential ingredient?
Had planned to get desserts but decided to skip these.

Waiter took pappardelle off the bill, thanks for that.
Will not be back.

From the beginning it was awful. The valet staff was overwhelmed- took about 15 minutes to get car situation resolved. They then sat us outside and forgot about us. 1 1/2 hrs to get the food - and my dish needed to be sent back. It was only fair when it did come out. The wine we ordered came out warm (it was rose) and waiter asked if we minded getting it warm - that got sent back as well. No apologies from waiter or management. That may have been the worst part of it. A very expensive meal that was just awful

Absolutely beautiful ambience. The decor in this place is next level, even for the Hamptons. Sadly, while it’s a pleasure to be there, I got the Mahi Mahi and my rice was way uncooked and hard. No one was thrilled with the food. This is a gem for cocktails and to hang out outside. Food could be skipped.

I love the Maidstone Hotel and outdoor living room. The food is amazing, we had the seafood gumbo, rack of lamb with their signature peach pie dessert. The best place in the Hamptons. Fit for a foodie or a simple night out. Kids friendly, dog friendly and romantic who could ask for more.

They have a light up swing in the back that is so cool it is worth the visit alone.

Not sure if we picked an "off" night- but we don't know what all of the fuss is about this restaurant! The service was terrible- poor waiter was a young kid- tried to cut him some slack- but then it just got worse. There was a couple there who left and didn't even eat. Ambiance was beautiful- but we were sitting right next to the bathroom so that was not a plus. The lobster ravioli was very good but served in a "new style" plate that had a hole in the middle thereby having to dig the ravioli out and then broke apart into pieces. My mahi mahi was as bland as the white rice it was served over. We were not impressed- been going out east for 43 years and know many places- won't return!
