A great restaurant if you are looking for ambiance, character, meat. I’m not a big fan of restaurant specific cocktails they are generally overpriced and the results ate ok. Personally for them i’d go throwback to African safari and simplify…great gin martini, great bourbon and soda, etc. Their wines are excellent.

This place is awesome! First, the service was excellent from the minute I walked in. Immediately was sat, had my menu for a few moments and my drink order was taken. The ambiance is so cool. Great and fun vibe. Felt like we were in a hunter's lodge on LSD. The food was delicious and completely different. Cannot wait to come back again.

Great experience! Food was delicious! Unique atmosphere. Husband and I went for our anniversary and to try something new. We had a great time and really enjoyed the experience. The staff were amazing. Would highly recommend if you want to try something different!

Amazing, as always! We went for my husband’s birthday as it is his favorite restaurant. He got venison chops and rich, hearty French onion soup and declared it excellent. I’m a vegetarian and thus I am a challenge for the staff, but they accommodated my requests and didn’t brown my bread in beef fat and I had a lovely time.

We LOVE The Lion's Share! Everything about it is great...food, cocktails, service, ambiance. We have loved this little neighborhood gem and are sad we are moving away from it. We will come back when we come back to San Diego but have some very happy memories there. David is the best!

So glad we stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant! Awesome food, meticulously prepared with exciting combination of ingredients. Very attentive and nice staff. It’s a downtown hip restaurant so expect crowds, noise, and high energy.

Swrvice was incredibly slow. The service staff was friendly but it took a long time before table visits. In seating it was 10-15 mins before staff came over. Food was very good. Serving portions were huge.

Had a reservation. Was taken to a postage stamp size table just inside the front door. Unable to see the bar and all of the animal head displays. One choice of Chardonnay and one Pinot Noir offered per glass. Really??? Waiter did not offer any menu info nor asked if we had any questions. He seemed rushed and wanted to be done with us. If we would have had more info about menu we would have ordered differently. The worst dining experience ever.

First night in San Diego snagged a reservation for Mother’s Day with my 21 year old son. He had the duck breast and I had the elk flank, both were fantastic. We also had the oysters as a starter and my son had one of the craft cocktails. We definitely would come back.

Fewer appetizers on this menu - brussel sprouts were unusual and outstanding. Miss having the bison tartate option, but I did not like the last presentation. Please go back to the one you have made for years. Expanded wine list and shorter cocktail list.

Great food. Unpretentious menu & prep. The place is slightly funky - if you're accustomed to high-end dining, you'll be a little disjointed when you enter, but The Lion's Share will grow on you over your visit. Only 5 stars available here, but the food is 6+! Service was good - not great, but the fare is so good you won't care by the end of the meal. It's a new top 5 favorite for us. If management reads this - it would be nice to have red wine glasses for a fine bottle...

One of our best experience in the Gaslamp Quarter ! First, the place is amazingly decorate, stunning. Second the creativity of the chef for the menu is impressive, third the service was really kind and friendly, thanks to David. And last part but the most important, the food was really, really good. Definitelly for meat lovers as suggested by the name 😉 We will certainly be back!

Never been to the Lion’s Share but once we found the main door and tasted the food, oh my goodness! Every bite was bursting with flavor! Every dish was perfect and the restaurant overall was a fun atmosphere. The executive chef also came us to greet us on our anniversary and treated us with some additional goodies! Will definitely come back again!

All the good is incredible, the drinks are great. The artwork is amazing. But our server was super slow and took forever to take our order, bring the check, and we sat about 20 minutes waiting for him to take payment, locking eyes with him multiple times. We ended up bringing the check to him and walking out.

The new menu is fantastic. Tartare is phenomenal, waygu tacos are drool worthy, beet salad was refreshing and bright. Had the aged bison ribeye special and it was out of this world. All the cocktails were delicious as usual. The staff are so wonderful and friendly. Absolutely one of my favorite places in SD.

We would 100% recommend this restaurant to any of our friends and family. We have been raving about the amazing food and outstanding service to everyone who will listen! Our server Diana was amazing from start to finish. We got there right when they opened at 4pm and were promptly seated out on their patio. The whole team worked amazing together to make sure that service was top notch. We were there through their happy hour and ended up staying for almost 3 hours enjoying ourselves with amazing food and drinks and even better service. 10/10 experience from start to finish. Thank you Diana and the rest of the Lion Share team!

The waiter was well versed in cocktails, and the bone marrow was absolutely amazing. We ordered a second right away. Only drawback was the 2 tops don’t allow for you to sit next to your date. We felt far away from each other. Highly recommend for a splurge dinner out.

Fench onion soup was delicious, beet salad was good, burger ok, boar bolognese meh. Specialty cocktail tasted like I was drinking the blue disinfectant at dentist office but doesn't mean someone else doesn't love it (fun to try just a miss). Likely won't return.

Decent food. Took a while for a server to come and start waiting on us. Wanted an Arnold Palmer but they didn't have ice tea so that was out. Ordered a refresher drink for $9 that was a one time fill and it was all ice to the point where it was a few sips and done. That was ridiculous. Overall the food was good, drinks are prohibitively expensive as a cocktail was ranging $16 and up. I liked the place but not for me, unlikely I'd go back. I'd recommend people try it at least once as the atmosphere and location were really good.
