The Lazy Goat
The diverse menu was created to accommodate a variety of diner preferences with meat & cheese plates, small plates to “graze and nibble,” and main dishes.
Guests are invited to take their time while "trying a little bit of this and a little bit of that" or a "whole lot of whatever they like."
Thursday –5:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Friday - Saturday – 11:00am – 10:00pm
Sunday – 11:00am – 9:00pm
Only had the lunch menu to choose from, going back for dinner soon!
Fried goat cheese was delicious!!
If I could give it more than five stars I would! I love everything about this place. The menu is just as amazing as the vibe. Highly recommend it!
Liked restaurant, great view, horribly loud. Could bearly have a conversation.
The food was good but the service was only adequate. Our waiter came by to check on us but got our wines mixed up. Then when we asked him for two bills, he split it down the middle. Luckily I was with my sister so we could work it out ourselves. Otherwise it could have been awkward.
First time here as I was in town on business. 100% worth the drive into downtown Greenville. Great spot with fantastic food and excellent service. Would go back without a doubt.
Very good food, nice server, and good service. We had a large table, and it was a little hard to hear. Tends to be a little noisy when there are lots of people there.
Creative dishes, nice wine list, good service, great location and nice ambiance. It was good and we enjoyed it. It was pricey. Would I rave about it? No.... Would I go back? Yes, but would not be a “must do” (I’m a visitor to the area). Would I recommend it? Yes.
Food was amazing and the drinks were handcrafted and delicious!!!
We will be back!
As always the food was great. The Waygu steak dish was unbelievable
So good as always!!!!
Delicious! No complaints!
Not great . 2 different Paella’s on the menu. The waiter said not to try, as he gets a lot of “mixed reviews “ on them
Great food and Sangria!
Service was not good at all. It took 8 mins before we were acknowledged at table and things continued downward from there
This was our second trip to The Lazy Goat and after having an outstanding meal on our first visit we were very disappointed on this occasion. The option of ordering 500ml of wine was, disappointingly, removed from the menu. The Lazy Paella had a lot less seafood and when one of the guests didn’t receive their meal (Lamb Lollypops) the kitchen over cooked them and delivered it to the table when the rest of the guests were ready to leave. I hope the next time will be more like the first visit.
This is a nice looking restaurant to walk into. Once you are seated you will most-likely have a view of the river. We tried the mozzarella balls and shrimp appetizers and then shared the paella for our entree. All were superb. The wine list ha d a nice variety to choose from. Our server, Grant was outstanding and made us feel very welcomed. The food and whole experience was unique and very enjoyable!
Made 2 visits within a week, sampling 5 different dishes along the way. Highest marks to the Buratta, the Duck Con-fit Pizza, and the Brussel Sprouts. Wonderful flavors in the Agnolotti entre, though it's not quite sizeable enough to share between two persons. On each visit the patio was closed due to weather, so the inside dining room was full and, as a result, moderately noisy. Service was excellent on each visit. All dishes were perfectly cooked and attractively presented.
It was my first time here, but my experience was splendid. From the greeting at the door to the dessert at the end.
Everyone from the hosts to the server was very friendly and professional. All of our food questions were answered and we got good recommendations from our server. The food arrived at the right times and was well prepared and presented. The food is priced a little high- especially the dessert ($9 for 4 bites of spice cake is absurd) but with the gift card deal I had it was worth it this time.
Several of the menu items I’ve enjoyed in the past were either unavailable or prepared differently. I much prefer the previous incarnation of Even Lazier Paella, and the charcuterie plate with chef selections keeps me from getting the fruit compote-type thing or almonds I look forward to. If the Brussels sprouts or Duck Duck Goat pizza ever leave I might not have reason to return. (You’ve been warned Table 301. ) Otherwise, it was a great experience and my girlfriend and I enjoyed a well-prepared delicious meal in a beautiful setting.

The Lazy Goat is celebrating it's 11th anniversary this year and it deserves many more anniversaries! Delicious and innovative food choices, nice drink drink selections, and good service, in addition to a beautiful setting in our downtown Greenville, make this one dining experience where you just can not lose.
Wonderful meal from start to finish! The Lazy Goat still rests as my favorite restaurant downtown.
The food, as always, was fantastic. The only issue was with the service. The server informed us it would take about 35 minutes for the entree my wife ordered, so we ordered a large appetizer. Unfortunately, the entree arrived BEFORE the appetizer, very quickly, and therefore the majority of our appetizer went to waste.
But the food is fantastic.
Our first time here. The food was very tasty and the service was very good. It has great windows to see outside. One thing I missed were table cloths or something attractive for the table - candle or flower would warm things up. They did use cloth napkins but most restaurants (competition) I'm familiar with at this price point have good linens at dinner. I felt slightly rushed. Next time I will ask the server to hold the entree until we're finished the tapas. Or, the server could ask. I will go again if in the neighborhood.
Food was delicious. Our experience was excellent. My only comment is if you are looking for a filling meal make sure to ask questions. My wife’s meal was large and mine was tiny....so they clearly have both ends of the spectrum
Fantastic food and beautiful views! The only drawback is the noise. Depending on the diners around you, it can be a strain to hear the person beside you. I’d still go in a heartbeat, though!
A continual local favorite, and one of the first places we consider when guests come to town...like tonight. Never disappointed. Thanks!
Beautiful venue and excellent service from the host and greet staff.
The service was formal and deliberately paced.
Goat cheese and frites appetizer was very good but thought a better dipping sauce could be offered instead of ketchup.
I had the chicken which had great flavor on the skin but not much flavor in the chicken itself.
My wife had the agnolotti which was mildly flavored.
Excellent food, especially the lamb. Great place!!!
Great view, great food! You have to try the fried goat cheese and Brussels sprouts- even those who dont usually like goat cheese raves about these!
Amazing! Chef Wilberto knocks it out every time! Service was also superb!
Lovely service, excellent service as usual. Upstairs area offered no atmosphere.
The food was excellent and full of flavor. The lamb chop lollipops were very good, as was the chicken. I gave it a 4 though because the portions were a little small. The restaurant is open and full of light, but the high ceilings create a lot of noise. It was very difficult to hear our waiter at times. Service was good, and we were not rushed to leave at all. I would recommend this for a special occasion. Ask for a window table.
Had a wonderful night out at Lazy Goat. The food was delicious, especially the Beer Steamed Mussels. We will be back!
Service was excellent , loved the lamb and best Panna cotta ever !
Went here for our anniversary. All the staff congratulated us whenever they came by our table. Our waitress was awesome and made several great recommendations. We sat next to the windows and had a great view of the river-walk. Overall a very nice experience and we will definitely be back!
The Lazy Goat was superb! They made the evening special for Ott of town guests and personalized the menu for us! They let us take our time with ordering and enjoying company over drinks and apps and never rushed to move the table. Wonderful evening!
We brought our family from out of town . They love to visit the lazy goat every time they come to see us. The goat cheese balls and the frites were great!
Worst experience ever. First we walk in and no one even says hello. So we say we have reservations at 8 (10 mins early) and we are taken to our table. The place is only half full at this point. We are sat directly in front of a large pillar that blocked our view. I asked the waitress if we could move to the table next to us with a better view (2 choices within her section). She goes and asks the hostess and I am told I cannot move because someone else made a reservation with a request to sit with a window view... So I cannot sit their because I didnt ASK for a good seat?? Worst of all, NO ONE EVER CAME! So I sat there staring at an empty table with a nice view the entire time. The waitress was hit and miss. Mostly miss. Very pushy and rushed at first, then basically never came after the food. Had to go to the bar to request to pay my bill... I had the seafood paella and my wife had scallops with "beet risotto". Turns out that was just diced beets, no rice.. The paella was ok but all the shellfish on top were burnt to a crisp. No manager came to check on us. Will NEVER return.
Great! Went for a birthday dinner and had a blast. Can’t go wrong with Fried Goat Cheese!
