We recently dined at the Lazy Goat. We were seated within a few minutes of our reservation time. I highly recommend a reservation, especially on weekends. There was a private event upstairs, so we were seated downstairs. I do wish their stairs were illuminated better. They are a dark wood color and can be hard to see where the step is, especially for older people. The downstairs was full so it was very noisy. We were seated at a nice table next to the large window. No one acknowledged us for at least 8 minutes, then a manager came over and got water for us. This was unusual but our waitress was busy with a large table nearby. We were not rushed at all throughout the meal. Our food was very good. The noise level did improve as the restaurant started to empty, probably around 9:00 pm.
The food was quite tasty and different from the normal everyday choices one usually gets in a restaurant. The service was outstanding!
Worst dining experience I have had in a very long time. Tiny portions for a full size price. Food far too spicy and salty. When I think Mediterranean, I think fresh. This was overcooked and mushy. We had lamb lollipops, scallops and chicken. As a matter of fact, all three of us were sick afterwards and my stomach cramped severely for two days. It became so loud inside we could not hear one another. Would not recommend under any circumstances.
Used to frequent Greenville when friends lived there, but now in Charleston. Spent the weekend there and had a reservation for weeks at your restaurant. When I got there, for a 5pm reservation, was told we can't sit inside with a view, could only sit outside at a hightop...I mentioned we would be here only a short time as an early reservation, and staff/hostess very rude, very short. "Well others have had reservations as well..." yet the entire time no one took these seats. This type of service wouldn't make it in Charleston...there are too many great restaurants. Next time I'll just go to Halls where I know both food and service will be exceptional.
A little too noisy, somewhat slow service. Food was VERY average. Don’t think I’ll go again.
Brussels sprouts and Moroccan Lamb ate my favorites and always great. The Greek salad is also wonderful.
The view here is amazing, especially after dark along the river front. The food was delicious, especially the very lazy paella. A great place to eat downtown
This restaurant never disappoints! We had the special appetizer which was a fried green tomato, with lump crab meat with dill micro greens - absolutely delicious!! The dishes that followed were equally as flavorful: the greek salad, the scallops with beet risotto and the flank steak. Thank you for your dedication to local ingredients.
Everything about our experience was wonderful. The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We will definitely be back.
We went for a nice birthday dinner, and it did not disappoint! The service was excellent and the food was wonderful!
Drove from Charlotte to eat on the river and go to the theater. The Lazy Goat didn't disappointed, great view's from the patio and the food was delicious. Shared meals we're the perfect portion. We had the fried goat cheese and sautéed shrimp to start. The pizza and chicken we're our entrées with Panna Catta for dessert. Service was well paced. Great girls night out!!!!
Fabulous setting, lovely view of the river & promenade, excellent food and outstanding service.
Excellent restaurant! Dog friendly, outdoor seating! Quiet, yet fun! Tasty food and great service!
Really miss some of the menu items that they used to have. Food portions are small. We spent more money to get more and it was as expensive as fine dining.
Have eaten here several times. Always good food and cocktails and can’t beat the view!
We are returning customers to this restaurant for years. It was very good again. The only exception this time was that two of the meals on the card were not available. Except of this we had a very nice evening again with the family and for sure we will come back.
Loved the brussel sprouts!
Spectacular menu of unique flavors carefully crafted.
Food was awesome. You dont need to go to a steakhouse to get a perfectly cooked piece of cow. It was amazing. My wife had a seafood paella and she loved it. The waitress was amazing and to top it off, we got a free dessert because we were celebrating our anniversary.
I loved the paella. Very fresh ingredients . The cocktails were also very good
Food was great. Place faces the river front. Spicy hummus was good.
Very nice presentation of delicious food. Good service. Nice patio seating, pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommend.
The food was amazing! They offered us a free dessert of our choice or champagne for our anniversary and they presented our dessert in a special and beautiful way to celebrate! The service was outstanding and we had a great view of the river. We will definitely return whenever we are in Greenville!
Took a very long time to get our meal on Friday night. Food was disappointing, some mussels inedible, sauce too strongly seasoned, paellla mediocre. Nice view from seats by window upstairs, but we probably won’t come back.
Excellent dinner spot prior to attending a concert at the Peace Center. Wonderful service, attention to detail, and the food was delicious! Especially would recommend the goat cheese appetizer, dusted with pistachio and drizzled with honey! Will definitely be back to try other entrees.
We used to come here every month. Food has changed (expected over time) but not in a good way. Things seem greasier and not very appealing anymore. Service was poor and we got an extra order of food since we had to wait so long. Probably won’t be going here again for a while...
The food and ambiance were very good. The waiter was horrible. He never even looked at our table as he was going by, never checked to see if we needed anything more, and kept forgetting to bring drinks we ordered. Finally, my husband had to get up and walk over to a neighboring table to get his attention and ask about a drink that had been ordered about 20 minutes earlier. The drink was cancelled because we had had enough of the bad service and just wanted to get out of the restaurant. We have been to The Lazy Goat before and had a wonderful experience. If this had been our first visit, I doubt we would return.
Our daughter picked this restaurant out. We recently moved here from New Jersey. It was a belated birthday dinner for her. She obviously has good taste in restaurants. We also got to meet the new chef Wilberto and the general manager Andrés. They went above and beyond seating us at a window view table of the Reedy River. Perfect night. Can’t wait to go back
Just Ok. Had heard and read a lot of great reviews and was generally underwhelmed. Service was slow and the food delivery was not well timed (we waited a long time for our appetizers and then got our entrees almost immediately afterward). It wasn’t awful or anything, but I don’t know that we will go back.
Been here a number of times now--consistently very good food, service and ambiance.
Great spot for a nice lunch! Sebastian was a pleasure, the food was delicious, and the seating with a view of the river was beautiful! Thank you for a great anniversary lunch date!
The setting is stunning. The hostess was efficient but not smiling nor welcoming. Also in a relatively empty restaurant she chose the least desirable table in the room, near the servers’ area/kitchen entry to seat us. We requested another table which she provided, but with a sour looking expression on her face. The waitress was fine: the food was average to good but not outstanding. Based on other reviews we were disappointed.
The food was great - the brussels sprouts are my favorite. Service was excellent.
Great service and experience. Location was excellent too.
Food, staff and experience was wonderful!
Mother’s Day before the show, “Waitress.” Aw some view of river, excellent wine and delicious food.
Made reservations for Mothers Day. I didn't realize this was brunch. Food was cold. I like Lazy Goat except for brunch food.
We ate at The Lazy Goat for Mother's Day Brunch. The restaurant had a nice buffet available that my son absolutely loved. Chef prepared beautiful custom vegan dishes for the two adults. Thank you for the special vegan accommodations. The meal was both beautiful and delicious. We also enjoyed our table beside the window.
This was my first time however, I will go again. It was Mother's Day and Greenville had a MAJOR Art event downtown and the Lazy Goat was RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE. They get a pass for that reason. I believe a evening dinner would be calm and inviting.
Went for Mother’s Day. 1st time there. Will go back
