Every dish was tasty except for the oysters. Wine recommendation was excellent.
Arrived on-time for reservation and had to wait. Noted on reservation it was a special occasion but were squeezed into 2-Top in back corner with others literally on-top of us - this is what we waited for? Unable to hold a conversation without other tables hearing. Appetizer cheese plate below par.
Great Food & Wine! Great Service!!
Very unique menu! Loved the brussel sprouts and pimento cheese. We also got the cast iron chicken and it was delicious. Please add some Cider on tap!
Incredible farm to table food. Most of the plates are big enough to share which makes it very affordable for the quality of food you get. Submit your palate to the chef and you will not be disappointed. Reminds me of the famous Chef and the Farmer in Kinston, North Carolina. What a great restaurant.
Been to this restaurant several times and the food was always great but I’m not sure if they’re doing something different with the menu, it wasn’t as good as we remember. Choices were ok but food was mediocre. It’s was great before and ok now.
Food is creative and well prepared
Always great, amazing food with a good wine selection ! This place never disappoint me
Favorite place to bring my friends!
Cassie, our waitress was spot on with service and information re food and wine...all in all, this place is the bomb.
We were underwhelmed by the menu offerings despite the hype. Does have a great location and hip interior.
Overall experience was amazingly exceptional. Waitstaff was super informed and amazingly helpful
This is our favorite restaurant in all of Santa Barbara. The food is fresh, interesting, visually beautiful. You'll find however that half your bill is food, the other half is wine. The wait staff are wonderfully trained and make for a very lovely experience all around.
The food was delicious and really fresh--both the quality of the food and the ideas for entrees/appetizers. I had hamachi served with the most delicious cherry tomatoes, kohlrabi, sauteed avocado cubes, dressed with a Meyer lemon sauce. It melted in my mouth. My husband had the caramelized diver scallops, which were cooked with serrano ham, fennel and dotted with tomato jam. Don't miss the fritters for desert. The server, Bill, was incredibly knowledgeable about the food and helpful picking a wine, etc. The outdoor patio with heaters/fire pits is great even on cold nights. Fun setting. Fantastic food.
I took my girlfriend here for our anniversary, and they had a special postcard written out for us waiting at our table with flutes of champagne! This was so unexpected and a fantastic surprise! The service was great, and the food and cocktails were wonderful and creative. I would definitely go back.
In general the menu is slightly inspired, with lots of local offerings. However , the food is so over flavored that you cannot taste the simplicity of the ingredients . Too much salt, vinegar and fish sauce etc, etc.The spices are appropriate for the dish, just too much of it ! And for a restaurant that requires you to order everything at once, they sadly fall short on their expediting.
I do not know what the buzz is about this restaurant. The food was really mediocre. Also, very fussy ingredients without any real taste. There are many better restaurants. The decor was great but noisy and the service was great.
Decided to go here while on a quick weekend getaway with my husband after reading a recent review. Checked in for our 7pm reservation at 6:30 and learned that they were "right on track", meaning they could not seat us early... which was totally fine since they had a really cool bar space. So we grabbed a drink and chatted it up with the bartender - who was the best person we interacted with in the restaurant!
Once we were seated (right on time at 7 pm as they said!), things just went into hyperspeed. From the minute we sat down we couldn't help but feel the rush that everyone working there was in. Our waiter came and rushed us through the explanation of the way they handle dinner (family style), then rushed us through the ordering process. The the first course came minutes later, which is usually a huge plus... unless it's followed iMMEDIATELY by the other two courses. I mean we literally had almost no space on our table because our App, Salad and Main course came out at virtually the exact same time. And it was the same for the table next to us - who sat stunned staring at each other when they had only taken one bite of the first course before the next two courses were delivered, ensuring their hot main (scallops) were cold by the time they made it through their salad. The food itself was overwhelming in the use of (hot) spices, making the main ingredient (lamb in our case) unrecognizable. It was so unnecessarily spicy that we somehow wanted to eat faster so that it didn't hurt so bad.
I wish I could say that I remember anything significant about the space, the meal, or the overall vibe... but I honestly only remember feeling like I was speed dating. Not the experience that we expected at all.
Food was wonderful. Service very slow at first. 30 minutes before served initial beverages. After we raised the issue service was terrific.
Food was, as always, interesting, well prepared, and tasty. Service is not only excellent, but the explanation of the dishes when served is helpful and unique.
The Lark never fails. Top to bottom I'm convinced there is not a mediocre dish one the menu. Be sure to make a reservation.
We sat at the "Community Table" and had excellent service and a great time. The staff including our server, and the bar service were outstanding. The ambiance outside was really charming, but it was way too cold when we were there. They did have heat lamps which normally would have been sufficient, just not the night we were there.
Absolutely the best restaurant in Santa Barbara and in my top ten list worldwide. Delicious and creative. And a very happy, lively place to be.
We had the duck ribs, they were amazing! Food and service was perfect, cant wait to go back
One problem I rarely run into at nice restaurants like this is poor timing of service. I am a fast eater--yet the hot main course for both my wife and I arrived when we were only half through with our salad! The restaurant should have a situation like this worked out.
Fantastic ambience and excellent service. Pricey but delicious.
A fabulous dinner. Food was absolutely delicious, had a great time chatting with our table neighbors, just all-around a terrific experience. Highly recommend, as well as the other restaurants in this group—Lucky Penny and Helena St. Bakery.
Visiting family for the weekend and they suggested The Lark for a fun Santa Barbara night out. Foodies would appreciate the culinary options and all diners would enjoy the service and atmosphere. It was a little chilly on the patio but lovely lap blankets and heaters helped hold back the breezy chill.
Lovely setting and dog friendly......two great dishes and two that were so-so. Fairly priced for value..
Bill our server was the BEST! Very detailed descriptions of food, honest, helpful, genuine. We had a wonderful experience!
My absolute favorite restaurant in Santa Barbara. The menu changes with the seasons, which is great because it gives you an excuse to come back (thankfully, the brusell sprouts never leave the menu - they very well could be the best in the world).
Fantastic share plates to delight all dietary needs, signature cocktails, and trendy (but not pretentious) atmosphere. An absolute must if you're a foodie looking for a place to eat in Santa Barbara.
We went for an anniversary dinner and had the best experience! They made us feel super special and the food and drink were so delicious! Our server, Danielle, helped us with some great recommendations for visiting the area too. Definitely recommend!
Very good, but ran out of a lot of dishes!
Really great creative food and service. Would recommend to a friend
Always great! Have been many times for date night or just because. Romantic and fun. Amazing food and great servers that can help point you in the right direction to try something new. The outdoor seating is amazing and warm even on a cold night with the heaters and fire pits. They bring out the best popcorn to snack on while you pick a drink. There are options for everyone's taste....fish...beef...veggies...cheese. Nice to hang out in funk zone, get a nice meal, then go back out.
We had a great time . Waitress was very helpful with menu . Servings for entrees were a bit in the small side - my only complaint . Delicious food .
Enjoyable outdoor dining in an “on trend” bistro. Shared beet carpaccio, crispy duck wings confit and half iron pan roasted chicken. Plenty of food for two. Items and preparations are creative and savory. Service was excellent. This place is full every night. Appreciated the complementary valet parking, as the Funk Zone is crazy busy.
Another unique, delicious fabulous dinner. Always a great experience. Every plate that comes out is a work of art and tastes amazing.
Great meal out to celebrate a birthday during a long weekend getaway. All of the food was delicious but the short ribs were amazing!
Valentine’s dinner at our favorite place!
Beautiful atmospherewith inventive and delicious food
