The Lark pays homage to the history of California train travel and tributes the treasured and long gone Santa Barbara Fish Market, built in the 1920’s as a commercial fish processing plant, shipping their seafood products throughout the state by rail. I love the Lark. It is my favorite restaurant in SB but for some reason that night our food came very late we had to follow up twice especially for the main dish. Other than the late food arrival everything was great.

Most delicious meal! Every bite was amazing! When we arrived they had a hand signed card with an anniversary wish and complementary champagne. Nice touch.

Food was delicious...especially the Brussels sprouts. Atmosphere was fun and lively. If you are only visiting Santa Barbara for a short time, make sure you stop by the Lark!

Heard fantastic things about The Lark, so decided to give it a try. While very good, I thought the restaurant was a bit over-hyped. First, the good. Ingredients were fresh, the dishes had unique and innovative twists and the decor was very cool. The chicken and pork chop main dishes in particular were outstanding. Next, the less good. Service was a bit slow and on the pretentious side of acceptable. Noise levels were loud enough that my party practically had to scream to be heard. Finally, some of the innovative twists didn’t quite come off in my opinion...some dishes felt more like ‘test kitchen’ than ‘ready for prime time’. That said, it’s definitely worth a try...just don’t expect something quite as amazing as the reviews would lead you to believe.

The patio setting is lovely and our server was great. It was our friend's Birthday and they brought out a nice dessert for him. Unfortunately, my scallops were overcooked and my paloma was okay.

Incredible!!! We could not believe how absolutely delicious and gorgeous... each and every dish we ordered, even with the many demands of one vegetarian and one with countless food allergies. Honestly amongst the top five meals I’ve ever had in my life. The atmosphere was so perfect, fonky decor, comfortable music, wait staff... filled the eyes with beauty, and were gracious, knowledgeable and efficient to boot.
Can’t wait to return! Yum!!!

We were there on a busy weekend night, and the experience was disappointing. The staff looked very uninterested in taking care of us. It took a long time to get seated, then a long wait before someone came to take our order and the food also was slow to come. The dishes are rather imaginative, but the execution was unimpressive. In any case, the food was not worth the hassle and our party had no desire to linger or look at the dessert menu after the main dish.

It’s been a while since we’ve spent the 4th in SB. This place didn’t disappoint. Awesome to watch the fireworks from the back patio, too!

Service was unreliable amd very spotty. The staff is completely out of sync. Not certain how you can mess up a chicken liver mousse ... But it was a complete disaster from both a taste and presentation.

Lark never disappoints. So, so good. We were here on the 4th of July and Bill was our waiter and he had a trainee. They were awesome. We used to be in the biz and owned a small high end restaurant. Lark is above and beyond. Keep up the good work!!

Best restaurant we ate at while visiting town. Lamb Belly main course and Roasted half chicken were both killer. The Burrata appetizer was also great. Wait staff was really good but they need bus boys to clear dishes. Overall a must see while in SB.

We went here for our 9th wedding anniversary which I noted on my OT reservation. They were so kind to us-- seated us promptly and wishing us a happy anniversary. They left a note on our table also wishing us happy anniversary and the waitress brought us 2 complimentary glasses of champagne. The waitress was great at helping us gauge how much food to order since its all shared plates. Everything was delicious. The restaurant is beautiful as well. A great night for sure!

Excellent food. Something happened in the kitchen that held up our main course, the sea bass for over an hour. The waitress was clearly embarrassed, but didn’t communicate well. They ended up comping us for it and were very apologetic. It was very delicious and worth the wait, especially when it was free!

This was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. We went for a special occasion but I would recommend for any evening out. The food was interesting, seasonal, perfectly cooked and overall absolutely delicious. Each dish had something unique to offer and was presented beautifully. Highly recommend.

Our waitress recommended us to share the entrees. We were four people 3 guys and one female. We ordered several appetizers that were tasty. Waitress said 2 entrees would be enough but we went ahead and ordered 3 - that was not enough. I ordered the tagliatelle pasta which was $29 plus another $15 for shaved summer truffle the portion was way too small and was really enough for one person and not good for sharing. The guys ordered Grilled Hanger Steak which was cut into small pieces, again enough for one person for $38 and we ordered the Pork Chop which was very dry for $31. Bottle of wine and bottled water and our bill for 4 was $350 and we were still hungry. Best thing we ate that night was the Brussel Sprouts for $12! Probably will not return. Way too pricey for what we ate.

My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary. We loved the unique ambiance and enjoyed a delicious meal all the way through! We started with the crispy brussels sprouts with medjool dates, sesame and lime, and a summer garden salad - likely a seasonal dish, super fresh and light. We shared the cast iron chicken as a main dish and both loved the flavors. Chose the espresso ice cream sandwich for dessert, yum, yum, yum. The service was also superb. It was a perfect date night out -- zero complaints! We will return to the Lark again soon!

Our waitress was very attentive. Our food choices were recommended by her as well as how many entrees to order to share. We were unsure of which wine we wanted , she brought a sample of both to help us decide. Everything and everyone was amazing!!!

We had amazing food that was suggested by our amazing waiter. The seabass was perfectly cooked and the tomato and burrata was extremely unique. Can’t wait to come back!

This was our second visit. We love it. This time we came in a half hour early and sat at the bar before going to our table. The bartenders are amazing and knowledgeable on classic drinks. The food was absolutely amazing. We had a great time!

It was our 45th wedding Anniversary and a friend recommended the restaurant.

I liked the food, good service but honestly we were packed in like sardines. I think the restaurant is trying to reap profits vs customer comfort. I’d say drop a few tables.

I wish I choose something nicer for our celebration.
