   We’ve had many so amazing experiences at The Keg - and at this particular Keg so I would normally recommend, but not tonight’s experience. We went with my parents, my husband and 7 and 9 year old kids. Despite having an indoor reservation the restaurant accommodated us outside which was a great plus. It was actually warmer outside than inside, tonight! The service was very poor. It took us an hour to get our food and two hours in total. That’s fine for adults, but not with two kids! The food itself was great, as you can expect from The Keg. Our waitress didn’t seem engaged at all, was away from the table 20+ minutes at a time. When it was time for dessert, she asked if we wanted any - but we have no menus. Brought menus back. Ordered chocolate cake. It was my dad who remembered the kids meals came with icecream, our waitress did not. Do I care about a scoop of ice cream, generally, no, but I was annoyed by the slowness at this point so everything annoyed me! She came back to let us know - no chocolate cake tonight. I have no idea if she should have known this or not - I would have expected the kitchen would have warned servers about that and it was still relatively early in the evening to run out of something. There was something else we asked for, I can’t remember what, that the restaurant was also out of. Our waitress did put candles in the kids’ ice cream which was a very nice touch. And I don’t know where the breakdown was - was it too busy (it looked light actually) and the kitchen was slow? Was she just having a bad day? Whatever the reason, it was a very disappointing experience compared to almost every other special dinner we’ve celebrated as a family here. I wish we had chosen somewhere else where our server at least pretended they cared about us on a special night for our family.

   It was my first time at the keg, and it was awesome! The service is excellent,super nice waitresses,the food is so good! The steak is very soft,exactly the point ordered, big portions, even desserts. I loved it, I will be back for sure! Congratulations!

   Our server Ted was great and nice, I really appreciated that they indeed gave me corner/quietest table possible, as I had requested on booking. Keg is loud everywhere, so I don’t expect a secluded corner but I do appreciate them doing best possible. Bread and salads were mega quick, the mains took surprisingly long to come. Food was great as always. As I told Ted and everyone who will listen: I think the Keg does an amazing job with the food quality. I cannot believe they serve steaks and prime rib, on those super heated plates, however. Anybody who pays for and appreciated steak or prime rib, as well as the chef/kitchen staff, know that that heat continues to cook the meat. Esp prime rib and rare steaks. Next time, lift up the protein after it’s been at the table for 5 minutes. It is a sickly grey colour, not the beautiful top pink. Keg-I know you read these. I go to your locations across the country. It’s just feedback to consider, as I hope you continue to hold off Morton’s and (the buttery/disgusting) Ruth’s Chris. You deserve all your success, but please consider room temp plates for the main, or expediting expensive rare proteins on a room temp plate? Best to you-

    The cauliflower mash was dry and tasteless – looked like two warmed-up freeze-dried lumps. Disappointing.
