Seasonal Local American Cuisine. We use many local products from local farmers. We are located about a mile west of the University of Virginia campus. Historic old home turned into a restaurant. Three small intimate dining rooms upstairs, one on the ground floor and a large weather protected patio. In the winter the Patio is heated. Family owned since 1995. Special diet needs met upon request.

    Excellent food, ambiance and service. The only negative was that is was extremely warm in the restaurant. Many of us were sweating.

    Each course was a delight. Fresh greens, interesting flavor combinations, tender beef and pork cooked to perfection. Sauces that compliment the food not obscure it. Will return.

    I live out of town but I always make a reservation at The Ivy Inn as soon as I buy plane tickets to visit Charlottesville - I make the reservation for this restaurant before I even book a hotel for my stay. They have an excellent menu and everything we ordered was perfectly delicious, again. From the cocktail menu to the dessert menu and every dish in between, it’s just one hit after another. I’ve never been disappointed by any aspect of my meal so I cannot recommend them enough!

    Amazing place. Loved the food and the service was excellent. My only complaint is that I have a new service dog that I still have a little self-conscious about taking to certain places because of people’s reactions. He wears a vest that clearly states he is a service dog. We notified the individual at the hostess stand to ensure he knew and we had reserved a spot on the covered patio so we are outside and not in the main dining room and he stated there was no issue. I try make sure there is as little inconvenience as possible. However, once the hostess walked away there was an older lady who worked there who walked over and said they don’t allow dogs, even though she could clearly see his vest that stated he was a service dog. This made me a little uncomfortable but I stated he was a service dog. She did not give us any further trouble but I don’t understand why she had to make the comment in the first place when she clearly saw he was a service dog. If she debated whether or not he was an “actual” service dog she could have asked the questions she is allowed to. Would have definitely come back, but that comment left a sour taste.

    A wonderful restaurant with great food and attentive, but not intrusive servers. The interior is cozy and intimate. The patio open and airy.

    Wonderful meals. All four attendees agreed that it was a special place. My steak was as good or better than I have ever had ( I have eaten at many very fine restaurants),
