Succulent pieces of lamb cooked with tomatoes, onions & rich spices.
Succulent shrimp cooked in an aromatic sauce.
Food was pretty bad...India house is way much better
Simply the best Indian restaurant in Chicago.
Nice environment to bring friends and family for North Indian food.
Food was very good and authentic. I had the Murga Vindaloo which was spicy and succulent. The garlic naan was some of the best I ever tasted. One dinner companion got the mixed grilled and raved over the lentils and basmati rice. We also had paneer and a shrimp dish that were also quite tasty according to my friends. They also really enjoyed the mango lassis! My issues were the check; we were accidentally charged for a breakfast buffet at 6:30pm. It’s a good thing we really checked the charges...Also the restaurant is not easily accessible for people with disabilities; you have to call in advance to get an elevator. If not, you will have to walk up 2 flights of stairs. It was my first time at this restaurant and I was unaware that there was no private elevator to use. I have end stage arthritis in both knees and climbing those stairs was indeed a challenge.
Amazing time for a first timer during restaurant week and absolutely loved it. Cant wait ti return to this great location.
Food and service was good but can be better and fresher. It was a bit too noisy.
I had requested that we get seated by the big glass window table. I am not sure what happened to my request. I got there after everyone from my party was there and already seated. I did not ask about this request as I did not want us to move. May be next time. 😊
Excellent indian food. Great service.
Good food, great service. I love the music choice and the decor
Buffet offered a good variety to sample indian food. Food in general was good only exception being desserts offered in buffet. Didn’t care much for them- overly sweet and not too good.
A great alternative to a traditional Thanksgiving meal
We had a large group and they did a fantastic job taking care of us. The food was excellent and the service was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a nice occasion or for a group party.
Excellent experience, delicious authentic Indian food!
Amazing food. Great service. Will go again when I go back to Chicago
I would recommend it for the ambiance. I found the service to be inattentive. Our table was not cleared, the waiter did not follow through on the cocktail request and then seemed put out that we mentioned it, overall the staff didn't seem too friendly.
Good and pleasant service.
Of the many dishes offered on the buffet, only two were just so-so.
Definitely will return.
Food was great as was the service! We will go again next time we're in town.
The staff was rude and made us feel very rushed, when there was still 30 mins before brunch closing
It was an amazing dinner celebrating my husband birthday, food was great and they gave us a special dessert for the candles
Server was rude and not friendly - need to be trained in customer service.
Food quality has decreased quite a bit from before. Ordered kadai paneer and it was nothing like kadai paneer, more like watery paneer-green pepper curry. Chicken tikka masala was mediocre, definitely not worth the restaurant touting it as Chef's Special. I loved this restaurant and have been here many times over the past 7 years but was disappointed yesterday.
An unexpected find in Chicago downtown this turned out to be one of the best Indian restaurant that despite not being in the Devon area serve equally authentic Indian cuisine with a great ambiance.
our service was great even better server his name is Anil i think i am quite unsure but i believe So . He is very good great recommendations and very very friendly.
Great food, huge servings! Good menu with plenty of veg options, Interesting range of drinks
Quiet place close to our hotel. Food well presented. Pappads fresh and tasty. Shrimp curry nice and nan Bread freshly cooked
Good food - not normally a buffet person but this was good
The food was delicious. The set up is more of a family style, which made it easy to share entrees. It was a little pricey compared to other restaurants, but for that neighborhood, it was ok. I will be going back.
Recently tried mantra and decided to give this place a try, food was okay a little upset could not sit near the window place as it was closed. Food was okay a bit a bland. Service was good
They have lunch buffet but we ordered from the a la carte menu. They brought out all the apps and entrees at the same time. The food was good but the service was slow. We had to wait for plates to come out but the food was on the table already. Side condiments that usually come out with apps didnt come until we asked for it. Not good on the service. Food was good.
Outstanding authentic food, will go back when in town.
Food was spicy! I mean I can handle spice..this was spicy and extra salt on everything. Will never eat there again
Outstanding. A little pricey, but absolutely worth it. The best Indian food my wife and I have ever had. Restaurant was clean, kitchen and cooking staff was visible through a window, staff was very attentive, and ambiance was authentic and enjoyable. We would go here again without hesitation!
A gem in the area, tucked away on the 2nd floor with stair only access. The food was wonderful and the service was very good. Great for a romantic dinner or a gathering with family or friends. The chef is able to spice to taste. Worth going to!!
Despite reserving the table, we were not given a table. We were informed that the restaurant does not take reservations through OpenTable anymore. We ended up going to some other location as the wait time was 30-45 mins
I’ve always liked this place. Food is tasty and always get good service when we go. I look forward to eating my leftovers.
Food was outstanding, but Juan the server was horrible!
We were in town for a event and my husband had been here before for a business dinner so he wanted to take us there myself and our granddaughter. It was awesome so authentic. Appetizers were great and the meals were even better. We got a bottle of white wine from India and it did not disappoint either. Our waiter was very nice and helpful in explaining any questions we had. Cannot wait to go back👍
Excellent Indian Food - Authentic. I will be back
We got there with the reservation and they didn’t let us in because they were full.
