And don’t miss the Sleighride Dinner at Uleys Cabin!
Enjoy a unique dining experience where getting there is half the fun. Take a ride in an open sleigh pulled by a snow cat to a cabin tucked in the woods. The collective experience and talent of the Uley's team has created a rich and exciting tasting menu, complete with wine pairing suggestions, in hopes of making your visit to Uley's the best dining experience Crested Butte has to offer. Bundle up afterwards to take the sleigh back to the base area.
The snow cat ride was fun but 80 year old Mom had trouble hanging on on the ride down- May be good to have seat belts for those who do not have body strength
Excellent time had by all!
Experience was awesome. They should offer an up charge when you make your reservation to have a bottle of wine at the table when you arrive. Josh the server was great. Host was awesome and detail Dan the cat driver was awesome. The manager was great to speak with on the way hone prior to reservation. He remembered our punch gone call when I arrived. Great experience!
It took a long time for the food to be served. The most disappointing and frustrating thing was that our steak may have already gone bad when it was cooked as we spent the night in the toilets! The steak was overcooked and over-seasoned and makes us wonder why.
Uleys is always a highlight of our trip to Crested Butte. Fabulous food, wine and service. A mountain must!!!
Uley's was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip! I would definitely go back and highly recommend it. The view was amazing and the steak the best I've had.
Our favorite place!
A great experience loved the sleigh pulled by a snowcat
Uley's sleigh ride dinner was the highlight of our trip to Crested Butte! It was so much fun and such a neat experience! The food was outstanding! The reason I didn't give ambiance 5 stars was because the dinner music was not our favorite; everything else was top notch! Sit to the front of the sleigh to get a great view and avoid the wind and snow spray in your face.
We thoroughly enjoyed the entire Uley’s Cabin experience! It was an unforgettable evening filled with good food and fun. Although the sleigh ride can be a bit chilly, the views were beautiful. It is important to dress warmly! Chef Shaun created some very tasty food for the evening. The scallop appetizer, squash soup, seared pork belly and our main courses of strip steak and the Colorado lamb were all delicious! Meat was cooked to perfection and melt in your mouth! Service was attentive and friendly. The pound cake was so light and the cider float was a tasty drinkable dessert. To top it all off, the cabin was cozy and very inviting. I would definitely recommend coming here for a special evening.
Great on mountain experience!
quiet a lovely little place to have a nice lunch on the mountain. Unfortunate that you cannot get the elk chili inside. a bit pricey - but delicious!
Have been coming to Crested Butte for over 20 plus years. My wife and myself have always wanted to take the sled up to Uley's Cabin for dinner, but have never been able to fit it into our tight schedule on CB visit's. This time, I make the reservation prior to heading to CB on Open Table and we looked forward to this dinner date. Sled ride up was beautiful, cabin, staff and food...outstanding. Bonus for the evening, we got to met the new Silver Lab puppy, named Slade, going thru the avalanche training, asleep by the fireplace after a hard day of training. We will be back for another fine dinner and evening at Uley's Cabin.
One of my favorite places in CB. I was a little skeptical of this years menu but was pleasantly surprised with all offerings. Only call out is there is no longer dessert options.
I am used to the ski in outdoor dining experience while on the mountain but this was a nice white table cloth Different experience. Very good food. Great warm cabin type environment as if it’s your own! Loved Uley’s life story and everything about the restaurant named in his memory.
Great experience so much fun. Good food great service very friendly.
Very nice white table cloth restaurant attached to an outdoor bar about 1/3 of the way down from the top of Red Lady lift in Crested Butte. Very easy skiing to get to the place. Fun place with excellent food and a fun but not boisterous atmosphere.
A delightful experience for our family! Our waitress Halston was wonderful and managed out party of eight with ease. The food is rich and more than we’re used to, but we enjoyed it all. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with lots of laughter, music, and chatting filling the room. The snow cat ride definitely added to the experience — but definitely dress warm and be prepared for some snow spray! All in all, our family loved it and plan to come back when we have the chance!
We enjoyed a sleigh ride dinner and definitely appreciated a previous reviewer's tip to sit in the front of the sleigh to avoid snow spray and dress very warmly (ski gear). The ride down is much shorter, 5 minutes or so.
Our reservation was at 7:30, which is when the sleigh actually leaves the base area. We didn't begin eating until well after 8. So, plan ahead and don't be too scared of an early seating time because you'll actually eat quite a bit later.
Overall the food was very good, service was excellent, ambiance was excellent. We certainly won't make it an annual tradition, but it was very fun and overall great experience.
We have been to Uley's cabin at least 4 times now thru out the years.
I would say this was the best food we have ever had their. The chef did an outstanding job!
Excellent experience all around. I would recommend Uley's to anyone.
Loved it. A bit pricey, but for a once ever experience, worth it.
Unforgettable dinner! Wonderful to ride the sleigh up at sunset and enjoy a fantastic meal in very cozy and intimate surroundings. Expensive, yes, but worth saving up for. You won’t regret it.
Our family has enjoyed Uley's Cabin and Sleigh ride for 4-5 years now. Food always excellent, and a good time. Just one suggestion for the courses/meal we had, the Pork Belly course was delicious. We just thought that particular food choice was a little heavy and very filling right before our main course choice.
We'll be back next year to enjoy another evening at Uley's. Thank you.
The sleigh ride was very nice! I liked that they provided blankets. The hostess was very friendly. Service was great — food was mediocre. Enjoyed the atmosphere
We went to Uley's to celebrate our daughters graduation from college. We were told to meet in front of the Elevation Hotel at 7:30pm. We found the beacon light and no other customers or staff which we found odd. We attempted to call on the number that had called us the day prior to verify we were not left behind and the recording stated Uley's was closed for the summer (on 1/2). With no visible security staff on the mountain we approached the bar staff at the Elevation hotel who called friends, who called friends and who were eventually able to direct us where we should be. The angst that this created deflated the overall experience significantly. Our waiter attempted to make "nice-nice" by offering us a complementary drink upon arrival. When you are paying "Top Shelf" prices you need to be providing "Top Shelf" Service. Get some signs with contact information that is valid and avoid this potential fiasco for future customers. It would be a wise move....
Food was awful. My daughters meal was sent back twice to achieve medium well ( it was raw the first two times). My rare lamb was well done twice before it was good. BUT that was all fine. It happens. The issue came in when they charged an exorbitant price for everything yet thought it was okay to box up our desserts and shove us back down the hill with no compensation for their errors. I get it, things go wrong....but when you charge $120 per meal for adults and a crazy $75 for kids you better get it right. And they didn’t, at all. My kids are currently eating $25 ice cream from a box at our condo because Uley’s couldn’t get us a ride back to base unless we waited another hour due to their jack ups. Service from our waitress was great. The kitchen is appalling.
Great location on the mountain! Loved the cabin atmosphere. Great country feel and elegant at same time. Service was impeccable. Loved the sleigh ride up and down the mountain!
We have eaten at Uley's Cabin so many times in the past 5 years. This was by far our worst experience. The service was very lackluster, the drinks were so-so, and the food was not nearly as good as it has been in the past. The location is so amazing, we will probably try it again - hoping it was just an off day for them.
As great as it ever was. New chef and all. The lamb was some of the best I have ever had.
Great experience for us as a family! Bundle up though it's a chilly ride. If your children are picky eaters this is probably not a good fit. We ar
te here over 16 years ago and this was a completely different experience. Our previous experience was a rustic Colorado experience (which we loved). This experience was more high end dining experience with a full 5 coarse meal and the price matched. Very Friendly service!Great experience to do once!
The whole experience is something that will always be remembered. The sleigh ride up and down, the beautiful setting and the food. I would WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend the sleigh ride / dinner for a special occasion.
Everything about the Uley's Cabin dinner experience is incredible- however, I took my wife and daughter there for my wife's birthday. She has a dairy allergy. I noted it in my reservation (via OpenTable) and later called and spoke to someone about our visit and her allergy. They openly admitted this information was not passed along in advance- well, you're on a mountain and was brought there by snowcat, so we didn't have a lot of options. This was completely avoidable and when I'm spending nearly $500 on 3 people, I expect more. Period.
I had been wanting to eat dinner at Uley's cabin via the sleigh ride for years and was really looking forward to it, but was disappointed. The seats on the sleigh were wet and covered in snow so my husband and I opted to use the blanket provided to us to sit on instead of using it to cover our legs. We wished we would have brought our own blanket. The sleigh ride was nothing special. It was cold and dark, so it was hard to enjoy our surroundings. The food was nothing special and was a little too creative for my taste, though I ate everything that was put in front of me. My biggest complaint was the cost of the evening. Both my husband and I felt buyers remorse after our evening and we both have vowed we would never eat at Uley's Cabin again. If the cost was reduced by 50% I would reconsider going again.
Experience was fun but the food wasn’t great and need more blankets for the sleigh ride.
This was a great place to spend Christmas dinner since we were away from home. The sleigh ride was a fun experience - we did a later in the evening dinner - i think the ride would be more fun at sunset. Bring an extra blanket and possibly some skiing goggles for the way down simply because the sleigh does kick up some snow in the air. It will be cold and snowy - even if it is not snowing. The food was good and creative - there was actually bigger helpings than i expected given the multiple courses but they were all good! In fact we took home some leftovers because we were all full! The drinks were fun and creative. The service was outstanding! The cabin is cute and cozy and we loved it! It is pricey, especially because our kids eat off the adult menu, but worth the Christmas night experience. I would say everyone who can, should do this once!
Wonderful! Best Christmas dinner and sleigh ride ever!
New menu not anywhere near as good as before, unfortunate, such a pretty spot.
Love love Uleys. The ambiance is warm and quaint. We love the exquisite gourmet food on the slopes. Great wine and the service is superb. It’s our happy place on CB!!!
