The restaurant is no longer in business. However you can make reservations for their restaurant.
They did not bother to turn off the reservations or update their answering machine to alert customers that they were closed. They only had a vague flyer on their door. Very unprofessional. We walked over to Wild Fire instead.
I made a reservation only to arrive at the restaurant and find a note on the door saying they’d given their staff a well earned vacation. No date on when they would be back. I’m not completely sure this place hasn’t closed for good.
It was out 10-year anniversary. We got a babysitter and were excited for a much needed night out. Go the the restaurant and there was a note on the door "We are closed for a week so that we can give our staff a break." It was 6:45PM the weekend of SXSW.... what were suppose to do for our 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY?????? We ended up at a little joint around the corner. dressed up and eating with kids and loud music. They can't let their reservation holders know they would be closed???????
F-Open table too. $100 to a babysitter fort WHAT?????
A couple of weeks ago we arrived for our 6:30 reservation only to find it had closed to give the staff a break. Didn’t bother to notify us that our reservation had been cancelled, classy. I sent open table a note and they apologized, but didn’t take the hollow off their site. Crappy service all around
I made a reservation for 3/9/18 at 6:00PM. I received two confirmation emails from Opentable. We arrived at the Hollow just before 6:00PM. The Hollow was closed. They were closed for a weeks vacation. How can Opentable book a reservation for a restaurant that is closed. This was very embarrassing. I hope i’m contacted by OpenTable and the Hollow so someone can explain how this can happen.
It was closed, and we missed a wonderful Anniversary dinner
The unique menu items were delicious and the service was impeccable. Prices a little high but well worth it.
We had an amazing meal. We loved everything about our experience from walking into this unique restaurant, the crafted cocktails, the fabulous menu selection to the after dinner drink. This is a must do for anyone wanting to get away from the ordinary.
It’s a real jewel of a restaurant this far north of downtown. The menu always delights and brings something new and the service is impeccable. It’s a must try.
Service was great! Their menu changes regularly which is fun! I’ll be back soon:)
We had been looking forward to dining here but left underwhelmed. The Sunday brunch menu selection was limited which was disappointing. We’ll try again and check out the dinner menu. The decorations are eclectic which is fun. The waitstaff was very attentive. (The table next to us was VERY loud - I wish people would realize that not everyone in the restaurant wants to hear their conversation!)
Hands down the best meal I’ve had in a long time. The rabbit was amazing, braised boar with gnocchi... unreal. And the best old fashion I’ve had. They know what they’re doing and we can’t wait to go back!! We split about 5 small plates between 3 people and we were full by the end!
Everything was great. Only criticism is that the wine list does rise to the level of the food.
Wonderful experience at The Hollow. Highly recommend anyone enjoy dinner there!
We enjoyed our dinner. The restaurant is very cosy and inviting, including candles on the table. All of the food we had was very good, and we enjoyed the wine that had been recommended to us. I thought the sea bass was very tasty, and though only small plates are served, I felt the portion could have been a little larger. That would be my only critique, and I would definitely come back again. I recommend this restaurant for a very pleasant dining experience.
This was our 1st time dining here after living in the area 4 years. I was excited to dine here but found it frustrating to get a reservation. We finally went on a Saturday w/ a reservation. I asked prior what was the attire and The lady said less than fine dining. Our waiter was wearing a wrinkled shirt and looked like he wore his clothes for the 3rd day in a row. I asked about several dishes that he knew nothing about. I asked him if I could speak to the owner so I could tell him how excited we were to finally dine in this restaurant and experience his unique menus. Our reservation was at 6 and when we arrived the bar was full but most of the tables were not filled yet. At the end of the meal our waiter said the owner was to busy to come to our table. Our dishes were ok, but was not enough to fill me. My desert was too sweet. I’m not sure I’d go back for how much we spent and the food was ok.
My wife and split an appetizer, two entrees and dessert. The brioche with lemon butter appetizer was quite good. The consistency and flavor of the brioche was spot on. The lemon/honey/butter was simple and highlighted the ingredients.
We had the sea bass and chicken bisteeya. The sea bass flavor was buttery and delicate though not as tender as I am accustomed. The bisteeya’s flavors were well balanced with hints of cinnamon and ginger. There was also a pleasant heat/spiciness. The plating for both entrees was visually appealing.
We finished the goat cheese flan favoring a more savory option to the sweets offered. This was the lone letdown; more a victim to the success of the prior dishes than a failure in execution or flavor.
Our wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. As you can tell, we enjoyed our experience and will certainly return.
Loved the food and ambiance. We did not like our table location by the back exit door. We will be back.
The entrees were fantastic!! The drinks were amazing! I wanted to order extra bread to take home! I’ll be going back soon!!
The food was excellent, but the "small plates" were REALLY small servings. Prices are high compared to what you receive. Service was pleasant and professional.
The Hollow gave us a bad taste. Among many other things, we were seated nearly 30 minutes after our reservation. Our table was near the entrance to the kitchen. The table itself was...off. We noticed it was a folding table. Every other table was normal and had a table cloth, bouquet, and candles. Ours was a flat slab with none of the above included. It took 10 minutes exactly for our waitress to bring us water and ask which menu we would like to order from. Upon receiving our first soup course, we were not given spoons.
We asked for a manager and left. Unacceptable especially for a pricey Valentine's Day dinner.
We had their Sunday brunch. Both the food and service was very disappointing. With both the Monument Cafe and Blue Corn Harvest right around the corner, we definitely picked the wrong place to go.
We spent the majority of our time there waiting. We had a reservation but were seated just after- which was ok, they were really busy and it wasn’t too much after time. I didn’t realize that would be an ongoing theme. Once we were able to place an order, we waited..... then found out half of what we ordered was not available so we figured something else out. The menu was small and portions were small plates- (not an issue except when you are out of half of the items and it doesn’t take much time to eat a small plate). Server was nice and very busy. People at the bar don’t have much room and depending on where you are seated, they may be almost standing over you at your table. Because if the wait, they offered to comp wine, we opted for dessert- which, they only had one of the two options available. It was good, but I question appropriate inventory oversight when you are looking at a Saturday night- maybe they weren’t expecting a crowd, not sure. I’d heard we would need reservations so I took that to mean it was typically crowded. They did comp a fair amount of our bill. We’ll go back and try again to see if there’s a better experience, but despite the food being good, if the service time and selection aren’t improved, the next time will be the last.
Took my beautiful wife for date night to the Hollow on the square in Georgetown. Great evening!
We visited The Hallow about a month ago and we're blown away by the menu selections. Then, it was appetizers and an entree. When we found out that it was now all small plates, we were disappointed. How could you take that wonderful lamb and incredible beef dish off the menu? They were so good. Anyway we decided to give the small plates a try and it was suggested that we try four different ones. They were good but only enough to make you want more. Also, it was extremely difficult to balance all those plates plus a bread on a Very small table for two, especially if you are sharing. Our server didn't time the arrivals very well. I'm sorry, we won't be back for small plates.
The bread was wonderful. Should have stopped there and gone home. Food was just not memorable except to say that it was either salty, lacked taste or was overpowered by sauces that took away from the protein. Dessert did not match expectation based on description. Service was terrible. The restaurant was not that busy but it took over 20 minutes to get the back and that was after waiting for the waitstaff to pick it up. Great idea and menu sounds inviting but does not match what is delivered to the table.
Fantastic as always.
The flavors were exquisite!
Our experience at The Hollow was terrific. We made reservations before and when we arrived, they knew who were were and had set places at the table for our twin toddlers which was really sweet. Our waitress was attentive and the food was outstanding. I had fried eggs and roasted brussel sprouts with a hollandaise sauce that was delicious. My boyfriend had steak and grits and my non-grit loving BF was practically licking his plate clean!
Sadly, we enjoyed their last planned Saturday brunch but we had such a great experience that we'll definitely be back for dinner soon!
Great food. Loved the acoustic music. It was a tad bit cold inside, but otherwise a great experience. I'll definitely be back.
Everything was amazing! Never a disappoint!
The restaurant is probably better for a long meal. We had about and hour to eat and go. Service was slow, food which we shared was very good.
Fabulous meal! Ordered several plates with friends to taste. Lemon creme brulee was fantastic!
Early evening dining before a show at The Palace. Food was fantastic as always, this time the menu only had a selection of smaller dishes and my husband and I opted to share five. Four would have been sufficient! Service is great, drinks were good - we will return. Do note that the temperature of the restaurant is always a little cool - I kept my jacket on!
dining is always a treat at the Hollow, and their service is part of the warm dining experience. My friends and I are used to the changes that great us on practically each visit. Small plates, big plates, lunch/no lunch, but always very good and inventive meals. We had brunch a few weeks ago and really loved it too. Marianne
Excellent menu with lots of variety. Small bites.
Food was fabulous!! Benjamin was extremely attentive and very knowledgeable!
Drinks were delicious but pricey
Our seats were near the door which on a cold evening was a little unpleasant, but they did bring us a space heater which really helped
The Hollow continues to be one of the best French based dining experiences in the Austin, Round Rock and Georgetown areas. Wonderful wines, cocktails and food that will curl your toes!
The food and the service were truly wonderful. The lamb was perfectly seasoned and cooked @nd the beet and lettuce salad was a great starter. My only complaint was that because it is an old building it is noisy and the noise was compounded by music that was too loud and anything but soothing. Overall, it is wonderful to have this restaurant in Georgetown,Tx
