My guest and I enjoyed not only the food but Eric’s impeccable service as well. A great experience overall!
The Highwood was great. It was such a neat experience to be served by students who are so passionate about food and hospitality. Would definitely recommend this restaurant - top notch meal at a reasonable price.
Good experience as usual. Great selection and quality of food. Great student service environment.
As always the students shone while preparing and serving dinner!
Wonderful experience! Love to support the students as they are learning their trade. Food was exceptional and unique.
I had the steak sandwich and was expecting a traditional steak sandwich, although the steak was tasty I was disappointed with the potato cake rather than some sort of bread. The endive salad starter was superb and my end of meal cappuccino excellent.
Other members of my group tried the steamed buns, the roast special and the pork for their main courses.
They each said that their meals were okay but would try something else next time.
Very good. Delicious and well priced. Good effort with the presentation. Arrive early to find parking for lunch hour
Sour cucumber mock tail was refreshing. The plating of the tempura was elegant and the teriyaki chicken was delicious. Everything was excellent. Our server Fjordi was very pleasant and accommodating. It was our first visit but it will not be our last.
The food was amazing; beautifully presented and delicious! Our wait staff was very friendly and did a fabulous job making sure any and all needs were met. Definitely a place we would love to come to again. Thank you to everyone from the chefs to all of the other staff members on duty that night! Well done!
Terrific effort from everyone. Excellent experience overall;service, food, and drinks. Great value too.
Amazing service and food! Just a bit expensive.
A great place for a beautiful well prepared lunch at an incredibly low price.
The food was very good. The price is fantastic. The timing of drinks and confidence in service is obviously still being learnt, but that is to be expected. All around a great experience.
Wonderful evening. Good selection on the menu. Food was delicious and beautifully presented.
Service was prompt, courteous and attentive. Would highly recommend this venue for both quality and price.
Very nice selections for buffet. Fresh cod. Even pheasant breast & rabbit. Nice prime rib. Best smoked & beet salmon in city as usual. Less salty than others. Lots of dessert & cold items. Server was apparently nervous according to teacher but very attentive & good work attitude.
An evening our to the Highwood Dining is an unbleiable experience. Every aspect is outstanding and a very enjoyable evening. It is probably my favourite night out. The staff is wonderful and it is great how try they all try.
The food and service were excellent. The chefs were able o accomodate persons who were lactose intolerant and needed to eat a gluten free diet. Dessert was a highlight.
Very well done once again. We enjoy the ability to support the the SAIT students and instructors.
Our meals were attractively and deliciously prepared. The new menu selection was also noted with pleasure. Thank you all!!!
Carlos took great care of us and the meal was wonderful... what a treat!
Everyone enjoyed their 4 courses! We appreciated the extra toppings for the salads. Our large table was disappointed there were only 2 chocolate desserts left. However, the bonus treats were very tasty. Service was friendly & helpful. We were surprised it wasn't busier for Valentine's Day.
A well lit, quiet setting which a lot of us like to enjoy a meal in. Beautifully presented tasty courses. We enjoy the training students and wish them a happy and fulfilling career in the food industry.
We enjoy our evening immensely!! We had not been to the Highwood for many years and we were not disappointed. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Outstanding food prepared by the student-chefs. Best beef tenderloin I've ever had, and the brussel sprouts were amazing! Thursday buffets are on the expensive side for lunch, but justifiable for all they serve.
All the food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. We had a wonderful lunch. Thank you!
Hot food is poor in quality, meat is over cooked and dry.
This was my first time at the The Highwood. I will definitely be back to try some new creations by the SAIT students.
It is a great place to enjoy a classy formal dinner without all the formality of being professional addressed. I will definitely go there again, it is my defacto restaurant to visit for great food, and supportive of the hospitality management education.
This is the best kept secret. The young chefs from service to food are top notch. Their mentors chef are so talented and guide these young chefs to perfection
As always food and service were great. With the cold it seemed like you had some cancellations. Better for those in attendance.
Also appreciate the phone call indicating one of us left a pair of glasses. These will be picked up sometime next week. Thanks again.
Took my hubby for his 50th! Thanks for making it so enjoyable! My only complaint is its so hard to get in-always so booked! 🤣 Thanks again!
PS do you sell the green goddess salad dressing??
Open Table: There’s a glitch in your rating system. The Highwood deserves 5 Stars in all categories. The noise level was low. Your system would not permit 5 stars in all categories. When I tried to indicate a low noise level - a star would be deleted in one of the categories.
On Feb 7, 2019, our family celebrated 3 birthdays. It is our tradition to celebrate birthdays at the Highwood. So far, we are at the 10 year milestone. Not once has the Highwood disappointed! Consistently delicious food, beautiful presentation, personable service, and great value. The Menu changes are frequent; never boring! Highly recommend a dinner at the Highwood located on the SAIT campus. Bon Appetit everyone!
We appreciate this collective treasure of food, real time student learning, and SAIT!
Enjoyed the 3 course lunch on Thursday, offered instead of the planned buffet due to water issues. The staff and students were most obliging and worked efficiently and creatively under very trying circumstances. Thanks to all for providing an enjoyable experience.
We went On Feb.7th, I had booked the buffet back in November (?) but due to broken pipes it was cancelled. We were given the option to have a salad, main and desert buffet for $18 instead. It was a very good deal and the food was very good. I had the vegetarian poke bowl which I enjoyed. I enjoyed most of the deserts except for a petit four(?) the icing/fondant was too thick and sweet and slightly grainy, the cake inside was a little dry. The students all did a good job. While it was a bit of a disappointment not to be able to go to the buffet SAIT more than made up for it. Thank-you
The department enjoyed the experience and would go again. It was a great place to welcome staff and have a celebration. The students are great to work with and it is a nice environment for teaching.
They would recommend going again for a function within the department. The food was excellent and the wait staff were very knowledgeable.
Always good value. Dinner was very tasty with the carpaccio starter a favourite. Only comment is, I always find the restaurant cold and in minus 20 temps it was even colder - take a sweater and wear warm footwear! We'll be back, thanks.
This was my first time at SAIT’s culinary arts restaurant. Very impressed as these students have just started the semester and are already well on their way to being professional fine dining service staff. On top of that, the food was as good as any of the high end downtown restaurants. Every bite of every one of our four course meal was delicious but the highlights for me was the sirloin topped with a bone marrow crust and for my hubby, the duck that was cooked to perfection.
This was a great experience and I highly recommend. It was made all the more fun as we were able to give the students tips on serving and see them accomplish tasks that they hadn't performed before (Our "sommelier" had never decanted wine). If you remember that these are students just trying to learn a craft, you will love this restaurant.
Fantastic birthday dinner for my Mom's 65th. Amazing food, staff and atmosphere.
It was a very enjoyable and relaxing experience. Service was excellent and the students were dedicated to learning and enjoyed what they were doing. Everyone was very friendly and I asked them a lot of questions about their training and they were more than willing my questions. SAIT continues to develop world class chefs and hospitality professionals! Keep up the good work!!
Absolutely delicious food. Tastefully presented and tasty flavours.
We all enjoyed the night very much.
Already thinking of when we can return.
