El Havelock Tavern se inauguró en 1996 y es uno de los gastropubs originales de Londres. A diferencia de muchos otros que han abierto y cerrado desde entonces, el establecimiento ha cambiado muy poco durante este tiempo. Este establecimiento, en lugar de convertirse en un restaurante que ocupa un antiguo pub, se centra en ser un pub que sirve comida verdaderamente buena. El ambiente es animado e informal de manera que cualquier persona puede comer y beber y sentirse como en casa. No se admiten reservas y los platillos se piden en la barra. El establecimiento no pretende ser sofisticado, más bien procura que los clientes pasen un rato agradable y relajado. A este restaurante acude una buena mezcla de habitantes de la zona y gente que vive más lejos, es tan común ver a un grupo de amigos tomando unas cervezas como a una pareja disfrutando de un menú de 3 tiempos. El establecimiento no cuenta con música, el sonido ambiente lo ofrecen los propios clientes.

I hadn't been in a good number of years though used to be resident in Hammersmith a long time ago. We experienced good quality food at normal London prices, nice wine for a pub menu, and efficient service with a smile. The loos were also really pleasant (happily) and tastefully decorated, as is the rest of the pub. We stayed a few hours. I would have expected regular checks on us and our food/how it was but we had to get up to order extra drinks. They basically left us entirely alone – which is better than overpampering – but it would have been nice to have felt a bit more cared for and that they took a genuine interest in us, which you get at the very best London pubs eg The Cleveland Arms in Paddington and Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese on Fleet Street.

For a very good meal chosen from a menu offering seafood, poultry and red meat the Havelock remains the leader in a range of areas including service, ambience and cuisine the Havelock is the top restaurant choice in the Olympia section of west London.. it is my go to spot for a satisfying evening out with mates when I am in town. Friends to whom I have introduced the Havelock have become regulars themselves. All I can say is: keep it up. CS Farr

Great food and wine selection and the prix fixe was good value. Service was a bit inconsistent with long waits at times to be served and we wanted the mains at the same time but they came at different times, then when we asked for one to be heated so we could have both at the right temp they forgot. But overall a place I’d happily return to again.

The Havelock has become a go-to whenever we're in London. Great, friendly staff, good food that changes regularly, and a wonderful place to meet friends and spend time. Highly recommended.

The ambience of the pub was great and we had a very nice time. The staff were very friendly and helpful but there were periods when we were left waiting for service in particular dessert! The food was good overall, but the beef was a bit overcooked and chewy and we had to send back nuked Yorkshire puddings! The lobster Thermidor muffins were delicious as were all of the staters we had and our sons really liked the fish n chips. Overall we had a good meal and day out for Mother’s Day although it wasn’t cheap!

I have been going to the Havelock for years almost from the time I move to my current address near Olympia West. I go to the Havelock 2-3x per month and do not recall ever having a disappointing meal there. The table organization is user friendly and there are tables outside for the warmer months. The menu offers a rich variety of choice with lots to choose from from red meat offerings: entrecôte and very tasty cheeseburgers to an array of seafood choices. The service is efficient and courteous and the noise level never distracts from the cuisine and service. I continue to strongly recommend the Havelock.

Haven't been to the Havelock for a while now - but went with a friend last night. It was ok. I was a bit disappointed to be honest. The service was inattentive...(and there were not that many people eating there). The chicken kiev my friend had was robustly fried (or in the oven) (ie too dark) and one of our dishes was forgotten about until we pointed it out. With the few diners in there - I appreciate things must be slow for the staff and therefore a bit boring - but for the people in there actually parting with their cash to eat - it doesn't really work. Would think again about returning - it's not the same as it used to be.
