   The food is amazing and the atmosphere is equally so. This restaurant is suitable for business lunches, as well as romantic dinners. I highly recommend The Grove!

   I found The Grove restaurant to be extremely disappointing. When it comes to my meal, I ordered the My Strip Steak cooked medium-well. However, when it was served, it was not freshly plated. I had hoped to let it sit a little longer to allow the salt and pepper to fully absorb into the steak. Furthermore, the meat was difficult to cut until I was brought a steak knife, which didn't fare well either. Additionally, there was an excessive amount of gristle in the steak, which is not expected for this cut of meat. The mashed potatoes were lukewarm but were honestly the best part of the meal. However, we also had to wait for our drinks to be refilled, which is not something one would expect at The Grove. Finally, the most shocking insult was the suggested tip amount for mediocre-at-best service. Considering all these factors, I don't believe we will ever dine at The Grove again, and neither will the other members of the party I was with. Finally, why didn't I bring this issue to the attention of the manager on duty? The reason is simple: it was already evident that the kitchen staff lacked sufficient supervision, considering the condition in which my plate was served. Furthermore, if the table service was any indication of what the manager expects from their staff, I would have only frustrated myself without achieving any resolution. In the future, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend The Groove Downtown to my family, let alone my friends in Houston. The overall experience was disappointing, and I believe there are better dining options available.

   Went there to celebrate my graduation and ordered lemon drop and it was delicious. All of our drinks were great. Food was delicious. Chicken wings, quail, ragu and burger were very tasty. Got a delicious chocolate cake!

   The chairs are very uncomfortable next to the windows. They give both. A pretty bad back pain and sleepy legs.

    Had a 21:00 booking. They said could we bring the starters out with the mains, which I found weird. Then they closed the bar after 1 drink. A romantic meal I was looking forward to ruined.

    Celebrating a Successful product launch! We merged 2 reservations and added more, they did everything to accommodate us, party of 12. Our suggestion - put square tables together like a “round” , so we all could talk to each other - vs one long table. What we loved is that they accommodated our group of 12 with individual checks! Working stiffs! Thank You Grove!

    Pleasantly surprised. We weren’t sure what to expect in terms of food quality but both my wife’s chicken paillard and my blackened redfish were delicious. Doug our server was excellent. He even offered to bring a water bowl for our dog. We love the location and enjoyed the outdoor dining. We will be back and would recommend to others.

    I should have remembered that a place with a view often has mediocre food. This is one of those. Don't get me wrong--it wasn't bad. But the quail I had was quite ordinary. One expects a more robust taste from quail, but it was hardly distinguishable from chicken. And a week later my wife can't even recall what she had. Again--not bad, nothing really wrong. But if you're going to drop this sort of money on a meal, you can do much better elsewhere.

    Terrible experience. Food tasted okay but was really really slow coming out. Had to wait a long time for food. Then valet took 46 mins to get our car. The valet person lied to us. Kept saying it was around the corner. Tgen he finally went to get it himself. We will never come back to this restaurant

    Slow service with hit or miss food. Filet was over cooked. First mojito was great. Second had no mint or rum. Sent it back to be remade and next one had no mint or rum again. Wife’s ahi tuna was average. For $150 for 2 there are much better options out there.

    We chose this location because we had a concert at Toyota center and some of the pics of the food looked good. We decided to ignore the negative reviews about slow service but now wishing we didn’t. In a nutshell the food was overpriced for the quality, the service was very, very slow and the drinks from the bar were poorly made. The restaurant itself looked nice but that was about the best thing it had going for it. Do yourself a favor and if you’re going to a concert go to Pappasitos across the street instead. I didn’t know it was there and was kicking myself as we walked past it going to Toyota center.
