The view and service were amazing! Deconstructed S'mores dessert was our favorite dish of the meal - will go back just for that! Appetizers and main courses were also very good but pricey with sides a la carte. Overall, a great experience and satisfying.
This is our second time this summer to The Grill at Forty 1 North. Once for dinner and once for brunch. Both times were excellent. The food is fabulous and you cant beat the view! Can't wait to go back!
A little expensive
Expensive. Since all hotel bars are closed, the restaurant had a deserted/spooky feeling. Lighting too low to enjoy any architecture.
Small portions and not worth the money
Everything was perfect.
Should have gone with my first impressions and looked for another place to dine as soon as being seated. Was expecting a nice quiet meal indoors with a view looking out into harbor. Instead was seated outdoors in the Pavilion area, where the bar crowd was overly loud , the music was even louder and not as to be expected while enjoying a "fine dinning experience", it was not "an elegant setting" as stated. We asked to be seated further away from the bar and was told nothing was available, and a preferred table remained empty during our meal. Although the entrees were what you might expect , the salad was overly dressed and limp, the crème brulee was burnt. All things considered, quite disappointing.
Very tasty and a lovely spot away from the crowds
Dinner outside with a beautiful sunset. Food is pricey but all was very good. Hard to cough up $18 for one glass of wine, but whatever. Great people watching and Newport ambiance - we are local and haven't been there in awhile. It was a nice change of pace.
Amazing food & service. A must try if your in the area- worth every penny
The food was excellent but we felt rushed from the moment we were seated. Great spot but not the best overall dining experience especially considering the cost.
Best steak i ever had
Exceptional food, great atmosphere and a wonderful overall experience.
My fault for not realizing the seating was outside, therefore, it was very cool. The steak was delicious.
Pleasant relaxing dinner with beautiful views of the harbor.
Great evening. Great service. Bad table.
Appalled at the service we received. I cannot wait to leave a review online. The host was rude to our party amd the server was new but clearly not trained. I brought family from Raleigh for a special meal and was completely embarrassed for this restaurant- what a huge joke. At least the sunset didn’t disappoint. Will not be back here - taking our money to TSK amd Stoneacre where they actually value customers.
Michael was amazing from start to finish of the meal! So helpful and friendly. Overall great dining experience!
Quite pricey but food was excellent. Fabulous wine list. Lovely setting on the water.
We have experienced high end steak restaurants in some of the best cities in America and this was a serious standout!
My wife is claiming that this is the best ribeye she has ever had. Couple this with the ambiance of sitting next to some of the finest yachts in the world, incredible outdoor dining, and a highly skilled waitstaff and you have yourself a winner. We spent over $400 on a dinner for three, but if we could get a reservation for tonight, we’d probably go…
great spot. view, service and food excellent would recommend to all
Staff do not understand English well, they pretend to do so. So there is a language barrier
Great brunch with a view of the harbor. Pancakes were delicious! Good mocktails too
Halibut was outstanding. The best sautéed mushrooms on the planet! Beautiful views with observant and non-intrusive service. Will be back!
Celebrated our anniversary and the food and service were great. Alejandro was our server and he was excellent!! Would easily recommend again!!
We always have a great experience each time we dine at this place especially with our dog
Always great food and good vibes
The location of the restaurant was beautiful it was very clean but I found it very expensive and portions were very small overall disappointed
It was the first time we visited this restaurant. We all were taken back by the al a cart style menu. I think part of visiting a upscale restaurant is experiencing the different flavors and the plating of the dish. It was way over priced. I chose the salmon, it was good but not great. It literally was a piece of salmon on a plate, that’s it. The table chose sides, mash potatoes which were average, kind of watery, creamed spinach, which did not have a lot of flavor, and sweet potatoes, which were good but just simple sweet potatoes. We were a party of five, three of us got the salmon and two got lamb chops. The lamb chops I was told were a solid good cooked just right. Every thing over all was fair- good but not the same as when a chef cooks a meal with sauces and spices and plates it. We chose a chimmichuri sauce for the salmon because there were not many options for something else that paired with seafood. The sauce choices were bearnaise, a peppercorn, chimmichuri, and bordelaise. We each had one drink and deserts were good. The bill with tip was 700! I wouldn’t mind paying that but I do not want to think about sides and a sauce to go with the protein. Way overpriced for al a cart. I will not return to this restaurant.
We were sat at a table in the bar, which was disappointing as we made a reservation. At first it was fine, but as people started to fill the bar, it became loud and not enjoyable. It was our anniversary and there was also confusion with our champagne order.
It’s rare I write something negative, but the frill was a disappointing. The best part of the experience was Matt the valet for 41 North, downhill after that. The staff needs some serious customer service training. From the hostesses to the bus staff who took my dish as I was taking my last bite. Every time they approached the table they never smiled and looked with contempt. For the prices here I would expect exemplary service and it seemed like the staff hated working there. I ordered my NY Strip medium and it came out medium rare.
The scallop app was good but really 2 scallops for $25.
For $250 for the two of us there are better options in Newport
The seating area is nicely positioned on the water snd we loved our seat right by the window. The food was good, but not sure it was worth the high price point. Our waiter was not particularly warm or engaging, but he was responsive to our needs. A solid 3.5-4.0 stars.
We made reservations with open table( families: 7 people) 2 teenagers…it was a great time. We went for the nostalgia ad we remember it as Christie’s Back in college (1990-94) and visited a few times since but never as 41 North. One of the things it’s missing is a live band…I know that would change the vibe but I think the fact that it’s Newport, they could pull it off at least a couple times a week. I’m sure people would still come but you’d get more foot traffic on those days and probably create curiosity for future visits and in turn increase sales. The fact that it’s closed off unless you have a reservation is unfortunate. I do appreciate the inclusivity once you’re seated but it’s the type of location that I would visit daily for the week that I’m there if I could just go to the bar and grab a small bite.
We had a nice time but I missed the vibe it used to bring.
Came with coworkers and its an amazing atmosphere and view!
We love 41 North. The Alaskan king crab legs and lobster rolls are excellent. The view is nice and the ambiance is chic yet relaxed. We go often for lunch.
Excellent food, wonderful service by Billy and gorgeous view.
A great meal with wonderful service.
Great experience - the ambiance is perfect, right on the water, and we saw a spectacular sunset. Delicious food and good service, what a great dinner.
Our server (Chip) was awesome! Best lamb chops and steak. Management was also so friendly and accommodating.
